I wouldnt be too disappointed with you all not being on the field so dont feel so bad about it ladies. Once you all are recognized as being apart of USC's programs yall day will come...i believe yall need serious support from the other programs within USC especially other women organizations and teams to help yall in your fight...but in all i think its the band thats excluding break that barrier with them and i believe you ladies will be marching on that along side them....
You said it best " to help them in their fight".... The effort is admirable, but I notice so many subtleties that speak volumes:
1. They are performing in a small section to lessen visibility
2. No security for their small section...which is clearly needed after seeing the beach ball debacle (targeted at these young ladies). The black guy that threw the ball away was actually booed....
3. They walk in and out on their own silently....again, no visibility
4. The yawns and mockery from white students in their vasinity....
This is a part of our culture that is most revered for us and by us! They love cultural/physical appropriation. If this team stays around, I'm sure at some point the school will push for "diversification" in the group. The big lesson in all this is go where you are celebrated not tolerated/isolated....they overwhelmingly have and will always resent our hair, figures, dancing, likeness, etc. because they will never be able to do what we do!
@@queenvenus9128 honestly, it's not going to be easy for them, this might take yrs this is USC and although this is 2023 this is probably no different but not as cruel as segregation of schools in the South. No other PWI has a team, so they have already broken the norm and have become trailblazers. I just hope the team continues because different is never acceptable at first and quitting is exactly what they want them to do. The most important task is to keep the squad going to become a fixture.This could take a few years or maybe never

Yal can give it up those PWI'S will not allow HBCU Culture to be celebrated on their campus. With all the HBCU'S we have there was definitely somewhere else these ladies could have attended. The audience isn't even paying them any attention smh.
Not ev1 dances for an audience…some ppl dance & perform cuz they love it & enjoy it. Regardless whether the audience watches or enjoy it
