The led matrix panels were the most expensive part. The gate it's self is aluminum frame and I used pink insulation foam for the gate parts and the details on the gate and the chevrons are 3d printed. And it's all run by a raspberry pi. And 26 relays. Total amount little over 600.00.
@@tspann A Pi is a really good choice if you are isolating it. I was expecting the chevrons to lock as they did in the shows and movies though. The LEDs look washed out, maybe the lighting needs worked on. 2.0
@@frosted1030 the leds are perfect in person, I had to adjust the shutter on the camera cause it picks up the refresh rate of the led panels. And all you would see in the video is a ton of lines. 😁 To make it water proof I opted out on having the middle chevon move. ( It's going to be the focal point of my back patio.)
@@tspann That kicks ass. I saw the new video, nice work, doesn't look washed out! I would love your opinion on micro-led displays. They seem like a much better solution than projection, as they are directly emissive and seem to provide really great HDR content and can be any size. Do you have the code for these projects? I am in the process of building a house, and would like to adapt some of your stuff to the project. Unfortunately my space will not be nearly as vast, just a 17X20 "entertainment room" and there will be workout equipment in it as well. Trying to see what will fit and having the largest screen possible with the best audio and still having it themed.
Well, that's just amazing...
Loved that it takes the same time as an analog gate dial up 😄👌🏼👌🏼
Love it! I love the dialing sound. Have it on my phone as the ring tone.
So awesome how well it came out. Thanks for posting along the way
Great Job Todd! Hope you have enough room for an inbound Puddle Jumper LOL.
Love the animations and the sound effects.
really good job ! 👍👌👏
Is it a loopable horizontal image being run across the screens?
It's a MP4 create in Adobe animate. 😁
Only 1 thing missing.
When fully locked, there should be a light ring around the center that flashes.
Still a work in progress..😁😁
@@tspann ah, gotcha.
It's coming out most impressive
@@tspann Mist plus light.
Quick question where are you gonna put the star gate in your basement?
Focal point for the back patio. The reason why it's taken me so long to build is I've been waterproofing it.
@@tspann ooh so the patio is gonna be someway connected to your basement right ?
Cost?
