    Finally someone giving enough credit to Glorious too, they are really the first company that made lightweight mice accessible WORLDWIDE. They started it.

      @IOSam  Год назад +3

      I feel that credit should be given where credit is due… And like you, I do think Glorious deserves a lot of credit for bringing lightweight inexpensive gaming mice to the masses in the last 2 years (and sparking a wave of innovation and competition in this industry like we’ve never seen before).
      Finalmouse might have invented the lightweight gaming mouse, but Glorious is definitely the one who made it popular (and accessible)!

      @@IOSam "Finalmouse might have invented the lightweight gaming mouse"
      I think that would prolly be Razer with the Salmosa, Abyssus, Krait (2006) and especially the Salmosa Pro-gaming Edition, but it's not clear, because we had a handful of good rodents in the 70-80 grams range in the 2000's, starting with Logitech's first gaming-grade optical mouse, the OG MX300 in 2002, which still has one of the rawest sensor feel, to this day.
      To make it popular: yeah, Finalmouse started the thing, but it's probably Glorious that made it widespread. And Cooler Master also helped with the MM710, that was a really sick product 3,5 years ago. You also can't disregard Logitech's G PRO Wireless in 2018, which also helped a lot to induce the evolutional change the market needed in the wireless segment, making the competitors sweat bricks to come up with a competitively adequate 2,4 GHz implementation for their own stuff.

    • @IOSam
      @IOSam  Год назад +1

      @@zatozatoichi7920 Man, you went deeeep into the history of gaming mice there! 😆
      But you’re right… These things don’t get “invented” overnight. Instead, it is a history of many companies piling up their own innovations on top of those of their competitors. And this is why competition is so good for consumers at the end of the day.
      And I agree with your mentions about Razer, CM and Logitech, which not only brought a ton of innovation to the table in the recent 3 to 5 years, but that have in fact been creating and innovating gaming mice for more than 20 years (this model here was my first gaming mouse in 1999! 👉imgur.com/7iETLbz )!

      @@IOSam Haha, I remember those Logis. The first "gaming" mouse (I think it came before the Razer Boomslang) was the Logitech Wingman Gaming Mouse with 3 buttons, no scroll wheel, a "precise" ball and native USB, but you could overclock the PS/2 port to 200 Hz for best responsivity. I'd love to have one in my little collection. : >
      Imo we should also thank G-Wolves for doing what they do; trying to make Finalmouse's (and lately Zaunkoenig's) innovations more affordable to the public, while constantly working on lighter and lighter mice. And of course Pulsar, for nice shapes in the ultralight segment and simply for being cool having contact with the community, and updating their new releases based on this communication, while keeping their prices reasonable (sub-100 USD). Favorite manufacturer for sure. And you absolutely cannot look over the shoulder of Xtrfy lately, the M4/M42/MZ1 and their wireless versions, plus the M8 Wireless are very-very strong products with full PnP.
      I agree, competition makes the best market, and from 2018-2019 onwards, especially now, we are living in the land of plenty; there are so many truly awesome releases (same with keyboards), that you can barely choose. My poor wallet doesn't like it tho. : D

    If they make a minus version of this mouse I'd definitely pick it up the regular size is too big for my hand size and I can't fingertip grip it properly but the size of the minus is perfect for me and as someone who loves having a dpi button at the top for rebinding it sucks that a lot of companies are removing them entirely so it's great to see glorious is still an option for people who prefer the top dpi button

    • @IOSam
      @IOSam  Год назад +1

      I'm pretty confident the O2 minus is the next in line (and the one I’m most looking forward to replace my aging wired O minus). And I agree with you that removing the DPI button in an effort to reduce weight is a bit of dumb move on the part of other mouse makers (since Glorious itself made the Forge Model O Pro lighter than the G Pro X Superlight and the Viper V2 Pro, but without removing the DPI switching button).
      I think it’s fine to try to make mice lighter, but not at the expense of essential functionality.

    I’d really appreciate it if you replied to this but can you:
    a) use it with claw grip
    b) drag-click on it
    Would really appreciate your response!

    • @IOSam
      @IOSam  Год назад +1

      Hello Khizar! Answering your questions:
      a) You could use it with claw grip IF you have large hands. At my medium-sized hands, the regular sized Model O/O2 is too big, since the rear of mouse will touch the back or my hand on claw grip (that requires you to push the mouse deeper in the direction of your palm). So, for my hand size (18x9.5cm), I can only claw grip the O- (or the upcoming O2- that should keep the same dimensions), and the regular sized O/O2 is better suited for palm or relaxed fingertip grips.
      b) For drag-clicking, the new O 2 has the main thing you need for it: a very grippy surface (possibly the grippiest I have ever tried without any tape applied). So, in that regard, you’d be golden! My only concern though, is that the O 2 uses some very crispy Kailh 8.0 switches that offer higher click resistance than the OMRONs of the original Model O/O-Wireless. So, I fear this switch might be too heavy for drag-clicking and I don’t think I could do it (my hands would get soar very quickly). But then, I’m not a Minecraft player and thus I have never trained to do this (as so many Minecraft players usually do). So, in that area I would have to defer to a good Minecraft player to try this technique with the O 2 for a definitive word on this matter.

      Thank you Protrino!!! I use DaVinci Resolve Studio, which is an insanely powerful editing tool, but which unfortunately took me quite a while to master... Video editing software such as Resolve or Premiere are definitely not intuitive or user-friendly tools and their learning curves are ridiculously steep.
      But at this point in 2022, if anyone wants to learn video editing for RUclips and needs to start from zero in a non-linear editing suite, I would strongly recommend DaVinci Resolve over Adobe Premiere. Resolve, at least in my opinion, is a far superior product both in terms of its abilities and in terms of performance (which Resolve seems to scale far better than Premiere the more CPU, RAM and GPU power you throw at it). Not to mention that you can start using it for free (while Adobe products lock you into monthly payments for eternity).

    One important thing for me is: Can this Mouse still Butterfly click like the old one?

    • @IOSam
      @IOSam  Год назад +1

      For butterfly-clicking I believe the old model has one advantage: a slightly larger area at the tip of the button (where most people usually do their clicking on this modality), when compared to the O 2 that has a slightly (2 or 3 millimeters) smaller button. But the O 2 has its own advantage over the V1: lower pre/post travel distances, which can help you to click faster.
      For drag-clicking I believe the O 2 has a better texture than the V1, which will definitely help, but its Kailh GM 8.0 has a slightly heavier switch click (which might be a problem or not to you, depending on your preference), when compared to the OMRONs of the V1.

    • @LAUCHGeorge
      @LAUCHGeorge Год назад +2

      @@IOSam Thanks for the answer do you think it would be worth buying for Butterfly because of the other advantages?

    • @IOSam
      @IOSam  Год назад

      @@LAUCHGeorge I'd say that it would be worth trying because of how good its grippy texture and pre/post-travel are (two things that should be very helpful for butterfly-clicking). Besides, its 80 million clicks Kailh switches should withstand the abuse for much longer than 20 mil OMRONs...
      As long as you don't have huge hands with thick "sausage fingers" (that could get cramped to butterfly-click on the slightly narrower buttons), I think this could be a good choice for Minecrafting.

    this is by far the best review i've ever seen, im planning on getting it, does it double click better or equal to the original model o?

    • @IOSam
      @IOSam  Год назад

      Thank you Dino!!! Appreciated man!! I’d say the O 2 has a shorter click travel than the original O (because of its much smaller pre-travel), so that would definitively be a positive for quick double-clicks. Another positive is its grippier coating, which I believe helps for drag-clicking when compared to the slicker surface of the original.
      On the other hand, the new Kailh switches here offer a bit more resistance than the OMRONs of the original O, which might be a negative to some users, depending on their taste for how crisp they like the actuation to be.

    Do you think it is worth it to buy the Model O 2 Wireless if I already own the Model O Wired (I´ve had it since 2020)?

    • @IOSam
      @IOSam  Год назад +1

      I’d say that would depend mainly on two factors: 1) how well is your 2020 mouse working now; and 2) if the O 2 brings some new functionality/feature that you feel would improve your usability/performance.
      The new O 2 brings the advantage of Bluetooth and significantly better battery life (if you go with the wireless version), better texture, better sensor and switches, and less pre/post travel on mouse 1 and 2. If any of these things sound important enough to you to justify the cost of the upgrade, then I’d say: go for it.
      For me personally, I could not tell the difference in tracking performance between the old Model O sensor and the new O 2 BAMF 2.0 (since I’m not a pro player) and just the better switches and texture alone would probably not be enough to make me spend more money to upgrade if my V1 Model O was still working fine. But if I’d been “maining” a wired mouse up to now, I would probably consider upgrading to a wireless one at this point in 2022/2023 and, in that case, I’d definitely consider going with the O 2 Wireless for its incredible battery life (and Bluetooth).
      But if your 2020 Model O is still serving you well for most of your desktop work and gaming, then you can always wait to upgrade a bit later in the future (and maybe even wait for some future sale where you could get the O 2 for a better price down the road).

You nailed this review; The good, the bad and even had a high level player give their 2 cents which was a great edition. I think what glorious did here was the correct move adding features and even shedding a gram of weight. Mice are one of those things where it comes down to comfort and that includes weight. I still prefer my Model O Wireless over the G Pro and the Viper V2 pro (i own all 3). For some reason the shape and weight make it a perfect all-rounder for COD, Battlefield, CS GO and Valorant. When mice are too light, even setting the DPI or Sens down, for some reason doesn't feel as good.

      But I do hope they can, at some point, still bring their “Pro” line out of the Forge group-buys and into their regular Glorious retail, to cater to those gamers that do prefer a more bare-bones sub-60 gaming mouse for fingertip grip.

Sure, the Sensor is the best on the Market atm, but for me, the weight was just too tiny, making it harder to controll shots in my experience and the Shape of it is also inferior to the Model O. The Viper is just to small for me. And since they didn't change the weight really on the O2 Wireless, i'm definitily gonna buy it! While many people at www.reddit.com/r/MouseReview are very loud in their quest for the next overhyped “micro-mouse” release, I don’t think they’re even close to be a significant segment of the gaming mice market (and I believe Glorious also knows that very well).

      But what I can tell you now is that the optical switches that Glorious used here are stiffer than the ones from Razer (such as the ones in the Viper V2 Pro and the Basilisk V3 Pro) but lighter than the ones from Logitech (such as the ones used on the new G PRO X Superlight 2 and the G502 X). This means they are not as "spammable" as OMRON mechanical switches, but not as stiff as some optical switches out there... Right in the middle of the pack.

    unique ask but the minecraft community use the glorious line of mice for butterfly clicking the RMB and LMB (using pointer and middle finger to both click a single mouse button), and also double clicking by lowering the debounce to 0-6ms and kind of smacking the mouse button with your finger resulting in 2 very quick physical clicks. using these techniques in tandem certain mice like the model O are notorious to be able to reach even 18-24 clicks per second. would it be possible for you to test if the mouse shape and switches are conducive to this?

      Hey Loo! I'm aware of this technique by Minecraft players, although I have never tried to emulate it on my end. But even without any testing in that sense, I can tell you this:
      While lowering the debounce time to zero, will very likely increase the rate of double-clicks with the O 2 (which still uses mechanical switches), the Kailh 8.0 switches used here are a bit sharper (with more resistance) than the OMRONs used in the previous line of Glorious mice. And I believe that the Kailh’s additional resistance could get in the way of consistently achieving double clicks (it will definitely be more tiresome on your fingers after a while).
      So, I will make a few tests on that regard (and report back here later), but for now, if I had to advise a Minecraft player between keeping the V1 Model O or upgrading to the O 2 solely based on this metric, I'd be more inclined to stick with the V1.

      @@IOSam thank you for the analysis! i think you’re exactly correct as I tried to upgrade from the Model O v1 to the v2 as the mouse is getting worn, and found just that. It seems possible but requires more force and is tiring. I wonder if the additional pre/post travel is helpful for this sort of thing

    • @IOSam
      @IOSam  Год назад

      @@loo_9 The pre/post travel of the O 2 will definitely be a plus for quicker multiple clicks in sequence, simply because the total travel distance of the trigger has been drastically reduced when compared to the original Model O. So that COULD indeed balance out the additional resistance of the Kailh 8.0 switches.
      The other positive here for Minecraft players doing “drag-clicking” would be the texture of the O 2, which is insanely grippy (I know that is a huge factor for drag-clicking effectively).

    Can you reverse the cable and still use it? I know with the original Model O Wireless you couldn't reverse the cable, it wouldn't fit properly.

    • @IOSam
      @IOSam  Год назад

      Unfortunately not, since they kept the USB-C plug of the Modelo O 2 with the same shape of the original Model O. While this sounds counterintuitive (to fix the position of a type of plug supposed to be reversible), their argument is that they had to fix one of the sides up to ensure the upward angle of the cable's plug doesn’t get reversed (making the cable rub against the mouse pad)…
      Which kinda makes sense, since I’d rather keep the upward angle feature for whenever I need to use the mouse plugged in.

    honestly I don't see the reason for further lightening a wireless mouse the way logitech and razer did. I'd rather go with longer battery life.
    At least those are my thoughts on it but I only buy wired mice. I'm just sad the O2 doesn't have an illuminated wheel.
    I'd also only buy a mouse with holes ever again. Why? Because it is just WAAAY more comfortable. I tend to get sweaty hands. Not with my Model O.
    Last but not least: Quality. I've had several mice by logitech and razer in the past and ALL OF THEM started double clicking while still in warranty. My Model O on the other hand hasn't done that in the 3 years I've already had it. Also headset wise Logi and razer haven't been all that well so I tend to avoid them.
    Sensor choice isn't so important. The 3360 was already great. I don't get why people say that an older sensor necessary means that it's worse. I'm glad you don't do this. Great Review!

    • @IOSam
      @IOSam  Год назад +1

      Thank you Opachki! As you probably noticed, my review was not histrionic about this mouse (as my reviews never are). While videos that say something is “the best thing ever invented” or “the worst product ever launched” gets the clicks from impressionable viewers, they are usually click-baiting and missing the forest for the trees. Which are things I don’t do in this channel.
      So, the Model O 2 is neither the best nor the worst mouse I’ve ever tried. It does a few things very well and some things less well than the competition. And, at least in my view, it didn’t do anything egregious. So, while I’d certainly change a few things on it if it was up to me, I don’t have a problem in recommending this mouse to those who appreciate the good things it has to offer.
      And your observation about switches on brand name mice, I’m right there with you. I had all sorts of problems with both Logitech and Razer mice in regards to switches and encoders throughout the years, but have yet to have those same issues with any of my aging Glorious mice. So, say what you will about some of Glorious choices in build quality (we all know they had their mistakes in the past), but at least as my own experience goes (as with yours), their implementation of switches and wheel encoders have been flawless.
      As for sensor performance, it has become one more source of neurosis for gaming mice enthusiasts… I would comfortably bet my own money that the vast majority of gamers (including loud mouth reviewers out there) would not be able to tell the difference between any PixArt sensor launched in the last 5 years or so in a blind test.
      And as for holes in the shell or the presence of RGB, for every loud reviewer who bitches about these things, there are other 10,000 people out there who like these, so Glorious knows very well which side of the bread is buttered. I think they’re smart to have products for both the wider audiences (who usually like RGB for example), and products focused specifically on those gamers who are not concerned with looks (and only care about weight for example), which is the case with their “Pro” line that was tested through group-buys and will become regular retail products soon.
      No reason to skip on a huge part of the market (and its respectively big profits) just because a few angry reviewers (and their minions with pitchforks) demand that RGB gets removed from gaming mice forever…

      Agreed! I also wish all these large brands did this (looking at Razer as well, which took forever to announce a Razer mini wireless).
      It seems the investments in molds and machinery to release two sizes at the same time is too much even for the big guys...
      But from what I heard, another reason why they do this is to be able to learn from one (average sized) model before they release other sizes, so they can avoid any mistakes made on the first model (which otherwise would plague two lines of products instead of just one).

    Respectfully i disagree with your price take. Lamzu and pulsar are providing better mice for cheaper. sure not 80, but at 90 which would have been a much more reasonable price point. I bought a ninjutso sora will you be reviewing it?

    • @IOSam
      @IOSam  Год назад

      Thank you for your comment friend! I really appreciate it!!! I had a similar discussion with another viewer here (under the name Super_SSG), which I believe might also help you understand my thought process when producing this video, and why I mostly compared the Model O 2 to the Razer Viper V2 Pro and the Logitech G Pro X Superlight.
      But let me rephrase some of that conversation here to fit your question:
      While newer entrants such as Lamzu and Ninjutsu are perfectly good choices for gaming mice enthusiasts, that are willing to go out of their way to find these niche product where ever they can be found (usually small online mouse shops in North America or AliExpress), I believe brands such as Logitech, Razer, Corsair, SteelSeries and now Glorious still have a much bigger appeal to a much wider (non-enthusiast) crowd. And that is simply because these bigger brands are easier to find and buy, both online and at local brick & mortar shops, in all continents.
      Bigger brands also offer other things that appeal to non-enthusiasts, such as reliable post-sale customer support and inter-operability with existing hardware and software ecosystems (such as the mouse working with keyboards, headsets, RGB lights, driver software, etc.).
      And on the pricing side, I agree with you that the niche enthusiast brands will always try to be more price competitive (they have to be) to survive in this insanely competitive market. Glorious themselves had to be crazy competitive in price when they came out with the Model O three years ago, when nobody knew who they were. But even there, this advantage can be mostly wiped out by the availability problem.
      To use the same examples, you gave on your comment, both the Lamzu Atlantic and the Ninjutso Sora can’t be easily found to buy even in the US (arguably the largest market in the world for these products) and will be basically impossible to buy if you live in countries with crazy high import tariffs (which is, unfortunately, most of the world).
      But even in the US (with one of the most liberal importing policies in the world), I would have to pay another $13 to $15 dollars to have these two models shipped from Canada (Max Gaming) or China (AliExpress in the case of the Lamzu). So, by the time I add the shipping cost to the mouse price, the final tag will surpass the price of the Model O (by a significant margin in the case of the Ninjutsu).
      And for people in Europe, India, parts of South-East Asia and South America for example, they could end up paying far more in shipping and still have to add up a bunch of other crazy import tariffs on top of everything, which is why Logitech, Razer, Corsair and now Glorious (that today also has local resellers in all continents like the other big guys) have a huge advantage in the end.
      Finally, answering you question about my coverage of other gaming mice here in the channel (such as the Ninjutso Sora), I can promise you that I will try to cover as much enthusiast grade gear as possible. But at this stage in my very young and small channel, it is obviously super challenging for me to be able to cover every possible exciting product out there (and I agree with you that both the Atlantis and the Sora are indeed very exciting products!).
      But I’m am working hard to put together a team of collaborators that might help me to get there. So, if you stick with me throughout this “rough start”, I can assure you I’ll eventually be able to produce the same level of content quality you saw here applied to other newer and exciting peripheral brands!

    • @IOSam
      @IOSam  Год назад +1

      I did ask Glorious about the rest of the lineup (the O- 2 and D 2 being the ones I’m the most interested in as well), but they would not give me any clues. Considering the delays in bringing the O 2 in stock so far, I can imagine why they wouldn’t want to give any ETA.
      At this point, the DA V3 Pro is obviously the king of the hill in terms of best ergo shape and performance, but for $150 it is still overpriced in my opinion. But if price is no object to you, at this point in 2023, there is nothing in the market that can touch it.
      One acceptable compromise would be the Pulsar Xlite V2 (amzn.to/3wJPToN ), which offers both regular and mini sizes and can be easily found for less than $80 out there. Not as cutting edge as the DA V3 for sure, but still one of the best deals in ergo lightweight gaming mice out there right now (it has a great shape and it comes in white :)
      As for comparing the Death Adder V3 Pro or Viper V2 Pro to the Model O 2, I guess it depends on your priorities. If you want fast and reliable optical switches, Razer is still king (the model O 2 has very good Kailhs, but those are still mechanical). Also, the Razer models are lighter than the O 2, so if weight is also a priority to you, you’d have to go with them.
      As for build quality I have to say the O 2 feels much more solid in the hand, and I also prefer the shape of the O 2 vs the Viper (for an ambidextrous mouse). In terms of texture/grip, while I do like the new Razer V3 lineup texture, the Model O 2 edges them out by a notch or two in my opinion.
      So, if you use the mouse strictly for gaming, I can see the more expensive Razers being a better choice for some people, but I believe the O 2 is a better “all-rounder” for day-to-day use +gaming.
      And finally, whenever the D 2 comes out with the same improvements of the O 2, and if Glorious doesn’t mess with the shape, that will probably be my main mouse for day-to-day use (the D wireless is my main now), since it has the perfect shape for me.

    Amazingly in-depth video on the mouse, but I'd have to somewhat disagree with your angle on the Pricing & Competition for the Glorious Model O2, specifically the wireless version. If you compare it w/ the larger brands like Logitech and Razer, the model O2 will easily look disruptive by comparison just by virtue of it offering similar core features but at 1/2 the price of those larger brands. w/ the acceptable compromise of perhaps not having the bleeding edge of wireless tech comparatively.
    However, the reason why I disagree w/ this is that there have been lots of other 'ambidextrous' gaming mouse released within this year that are also priced around $90 - $100 USD, which provide a more fair 1-to-1 comparison to the Model O2 imo due to the similar price bracket. The following are the non-exhaustive list of the notable mouse models that I've mentioned:
    1. Pulsar X2 Medium/X2 Mini - MSRP $95 USD, 56gr(Medium)/52gr(Mini) weight, PAW3395 sensor. Rather unique shape that's sort of like a hybrid between the XM1 hump and G Pro Superlight sides.
    2. Lamzu Atlantis - MSRP $90 USD, 55gr weight, PAW3395 sensor. Sort of like an XM1R clone but w/ hump that's slightly more centered and less aggressive sides/tappering.
    3. Fantech Aria - MSRP $68.80 USD, 59gr weight, PAW3395 sensor. 'Egg' shape mouse that's like a slightly larger Razer Orochi. Could be potentially slightly cheaper from Aliexpress depending on shipping costs.
    4. CoolerMaster MM712 - MSRP $70 USD, 59gr weight, PAW3370 sensor. Basically an upgraded wireless version of the MM711/MM710 shape, which is a pretty popular shape among claw-grip users.
    All reviews for the mouse in the list seem to indicate good quality and great sensor performance as well that's rather on-par w/ Logitech wireless for everyday and competitive gaming. Outside of this list I've heard that the upcoming Ninjutso Sora (another XM1R clone, but smaller) will be another potential good option within this price bracket, as well as the Lethal Gaming LA-1. Though the LA-1 may have pricing that's a little bit more expensive than $100 USD.
    From this list, I've admittedly only managed to test out and use the 1st batch of the Pulsar X2 Mini. Good build quality and great sensor performance for the price, w/ a shape that's great for medium/smaller hands w/ claw/fingertip grip styles. My copy unfortunately was among the 1st batch casualty that had grinding button issues, but 2nd batch & beyond (which are what you'll get if you buy it from them now) seem to have this issue fixed.
    My point being, I'm not taking away your conclusion that the Glorious Model O2 is a good cheaper alternative to the Logitech & Razer big brands for a 'premium' gaming mouse experience. However, considering the release of many other great premium-feeling mouse that's within a similar pricing bracket of $90 - $100 USD, I think that the comparison of the O2 w/ these mice would be more fair and interesting, instead of just comparing it to the big brand mice.
    Again great video IOSam, just hoping that this comment can help add some other great options for those who're in the market looking for 'mid-tier' premium gaming mouse. It's been an insane competitive year of great releases for the 'mid-tier' gaming mouse market, and I just hope that this would mean even better innovation for Mouse manufacturers as a whole, including Glorious

      Man, what an amazing piece you contributed here!! Thank you so much for this (I really mean it)!!!
      I totally see where you’re coming from there, and I do agree with your premises. The reasons why I decided to focus on Logitech and Razer as the main competitors for Glorious were many (besides the obvious impossibility to cover everything in one video, which was long enough as it is 😂):
      1) I wanted to focus on the main brands that even non-enthusiasts know and that can be bought pretty much anywhere in the world at this point in 2022 (which I think Glorious has recently achieved that milestone, now that they have local resellers in all continents);
      2) Many of the brands you mentioned, are newer entrants to this market and have availability issues in certain parts of the world (good luck trying to get a Lamzu for example 😆) and likely will be more difficult to get support from;
      3) I also wanted to focus on brands that have an “ecosystem” (other hardware and software that works more or less seamlessly together), which is something that Glorious now has in common with Logitech, Razer, Corsair, Coolermaster and Steelseries (which they didn’t have it when they came out with the original Model O in 2019), although I picked only the two undisputed market leaders for this review given their obviously huge market-share and “cross-shopping factor”.
      4) I did mention other smaller-ish vendors such as Xtrfy and G-Wolves, simply because they kinda have become "household names" on their own right, to a certain extent, since they came to the lightweight gaming mice scene not too long after Glorious, and also managed to grab significant market share up to this point in 2022 (and can also be easily bought in most parts of the world nowadays).
      So, with those points in mind, it is easier to see that I decided to produce this video a bit more focused on the “normie” gaming mouse shopper out there, since I figured that the enthusiast market is currently well served already by other channels that are 100% focused on high-performance gaming mice on RUclips.
      On a side note: it seems that, despite all my efforts, I still ended making the mistake of leaving out Minecraft players on my considerations 🤦‍♂️, which was a big oversight considering how enormous that contingent is (which goes to show how hard it is to produce a video like this trying to cover all the angles, and in record time).
      Having said all that, I do agree with you 100% that: a) if you are an enthusiast; and b) you are willing to take a bit more chances with smaller/younger brands, you will definitely find better deals in high-performance/extreme-light-weight gaming mice out there from the likes of Pulsar, Pwnage, Endgame Gear, Ninjutso, Fantech (I have an Aria on the way :) and others.
      It is important to point out that many of these brands are sitting today where Glorious was sitting in 2019 (up-and-coming market challengers), and I can only hope that some of them will become household names in the PC peripherals industry in a few years, just like Glorious did (we can always use some more competition! ;).
      Finally, I also would like to state here that this was just my first mouse review on this channel, but it will definitely not be the last! I’m putting together a team of collaborators to help me with mouse content and you can bet the next videos covering mice (which I’ll cover not only gaming ones, but also productivity models) will eventually touch all the brands you mentioned on your comment. I certainly plan to get in-depth into the enthusiast gaming mice reviews! So, stay tuned!! ;)

    Since they changed the shape of then mice, is the model o 2 wireless still good for the butterfly clicking method or is it better for jitter?

    • @IOSam
      @IOSam  Год назад +1

      Well, just a small correction, they didn’t change the shape of the body, but they did change the shape of the buttons. And while I’m not a Minecraft player, I’d suspect the new O 2 could be better for both quick clicking methods IF you don’t mind the new Kailh switches that seem to offer a bit more resistance than the old OMRONs of the previous models (which could be a bit more fatiguing for long sessions).
      The reason why I believe some people would prefer the new model O 2 for those clicking techniques though is because of the smaller travel distance of the new buttons (very small pre-travel) and because of the better and grippier texture (which I suspect will be good jitter clicking).

Because it has a good design with some RGB, and Bluetooth mode and it's sort of light.

    • @IOSam
      @IOSam  Год назад

      I don’t think there is a cut and dry easy answer to that question... It mostly depends on what your priorities are in a gaming mouse. If weight is your #1 priority, then the O Pro is the obvious choice at its ultra-light 55 grams. But if you value battery life, build quality, and other features such as Bluetooth and aesthetics, then the O 2 is the way to go.
      In my personal opinion, if I had to pick just one, I’d go with the O 2, mostly for its crazy long battery life, the super tight and sharp buttons (with almost zero pre-travel), the grippy texture and the Bluetooth connection that extends the battery life even further. These are all things where the O 2 beats the O Pro in my opinion.
      And finally, there is the fact that the O Pro is not an in-stock product, which means the only way to get it now is through outrageous scalper prices on eBay (which is never an option in my opinion) and which makes the O 2 an even more logical choice in late-2022/early-2023.

    • @IOSam
      @IOSam  Год назад

      I'm sure that is coming soon! What I have been saying here in the comments section for people asking about "drag-clicking" with this mouse, is that you have one big advantage in it in comparison with the previous Model O: its texture --which better lends itself for drag-clicking than the smoother surface of the V1.
      On the disadvantage side, I have to point out that the Kailh GM 8.0 switches used on the O 2 are a bit heavier than the OMRONs used in the original Model O, and that could make it a bit more tiresome to quickly drag-click on the O 2.

    I don't understand the manufacturers. Why is it hard to put buttons to both sides on ambidextrous mice? As a left handed person, soon I can't buy a decent mouse, the options are so limited.

    • @IOSam
      @IOSam  Год назад

      This “amputation” of gaming mice features is happening all over the place in the name of the never-ending quest for the lightest possible weight… While I’m all for lightweight mice, I think there is a fine line between getting to a comfortable weight and just making a less useful product. And I think many gaming mice manufacturers are losing sight of that.
      While Glorious didn’t go as far as other brands in that regard, it would be nice if they at least offered another SKU of their ambidextrous mice for left-handed people.

    • @-fatal-

      @@IOSam I bought a mouse 4 years ago, at that time the choice was similarly limited.
      Okay, I'm weird because while I'm left handed, the main buttons are in right handed mode (left click is left click and right click is right click), this is how I got used to it in the '90s as a child.
      I don't mind the weight, currently I have a steelseries sensei 310, buttons on both side, can be configured as the user want it, I don't understand why it is hard. Too bad that the sensei ten has quality issues with the scroll wheel, reviews are full of it. Other option would be the Corsair M55 pro but according to reviews it has a very huge LOD. And the other option is the ducky feather. But the ducky in left handed mode switches the main buttons, like the old zowies. Probably this is the best option though and I will switch it back in Windows (or try to get used to full left handed mode).
      This is just sad.
      Anyway, thanks for the review. This would be a great option if I would be right handed :)

      I’m not sure what your question is here, but if you’re asking if the Model O 2 can reach a flat out zero debounce time… it cannot… at least not without optical switches.
      Now, mechanical switches can be very fast (fast enough for 99% of people, that is), but never as fast as optical ones. Which is why Razer still reigns in the click latency realm with their optical switches today. But that lead will not last very long, since the next version of Logitech G Pro will have optical switches, so will pretty much all modern gaming mice coming from serious brands from here onwards (even Glorious is working on their own optical switch design at this point -they don’t really have a choice).
