Homeless Veterans should be treated better than illegal immigrants. But for some reason, the government doesn't think so.

The VA Support for Homeless (vash) program houses veterans in need. Just because they are holding a cardboard sign on a street corner does not mean they are veterans…they just know that is a way to beg more effectively.

Because most veterans aren’t voting for the Democratic Party and they know it, also because they know they can get the illegal immigrants to vote democrat if they give them everything. They’re trying to replenish their base as millions depart from the democrat party. They did the same thing when LBJ and the Democratic Party decided to try and get Black folks to leave the Republican Party (a party started by abolitionists and freed slaves) with their “Great Society” programs. Their desire is one-party rule just as it was in the rise of the Reich in Germany. Every American should be alarmed by that.

I wholeheartedly agree with you... I turn 68 yr old in 5 month and joined when I was 17 yrs for 36 months... my unit trained with 82nd Airborne (Ft. Bragg) and 3rd Calvary (Ft. Hood) after our training, were informed our units were assigned to South Vietnam's III Corps. On April 28th, 1975, at 0700 hours, we were called to deploy to Saigon (that would have been 0400 to 0430 hours in Saigon when the NVA-VC attacked the Tan Son Knut Airbase) 16 - to hours ahead of where our units were assigned in the states... our respective units were part of the Fixed-Wing operation - with a mission to evacuate US diplomats, military, CIA personnel including Vietnamese refugees... ends up the NVA and VC unleashed incoming 150 rockets and bombed - obliterated the Tan Son Nhut Air base (3 miles north of Saigon) where the three (3) US Air Force C5A's could not land cause there was no airfield to land on due to the incoming rockets having annihilated the runways, thus, our mission was called off... end up 2 US Marines and 4,000 Vietnamese were killed on the airfield... at this time, Graham Martin (US Ambassador to Vietnam) did not want the Fixed-Wing operation cancelled and had his personal driver take him to Tan Son Nhut and then conceded the airfield was destroyed... in turn, a teleconference meeting was held with President Ford / Henry Kissinger and Chief Joints of Staff in Washington DC and had informed them of the situation. The aftermath reflects the NVA had 10 Divisions (150,000 enemy soldiers) in position as of April 26th and had surrounded the Saigon perimeter from the air base down to the Mekong Delta River... had we landed, we were GROSSLY outnumbered and would have never made it out. This is when Operation-Frequent Wind - an 18-hour evacuation started, the largest helicopter evacuation in history. These corporate "civilians" in their "suits" couldn't walk a mile in our men and womans military boots nor could handle to pressure under conditions as such... let alone deal with heat upwards of 110+ degrees. I salute all you Men and Women who served our nation - God bless you, and welcome home! US Army (RA) Vietnam Era Veteran... HOOAH!!

As Marines, we see a lot of things other branches don’t have to deal with. I saw my first suicide attempt just 3 weeks into boot. The guy got a dear John letter, walked to the window, broke the glass, and slashed his wrists. Yes, the DI yelled at him for slashing his wrists across and not up. We were in the Pork Chop Platoon (pcp). PCP has an 80% recidivism rate. I was part of the 20%. To Marines, failure isn’t an option, and when that failure finally happens, we tend to explode in emotions. Our struggle musician here is absolutely correct. PTSD is not a life ending brand. 1-last thing here Zack, didn’t you know all good Marines do their 4 years, and then join the Chair Force? 🤣😂🤣🤓

Got my DD-214 after 15 years., and is so hard to explain why I didn’t get 20 or a GS position or a moneymaking overseas contract or well paid civilian job! These bs comes from other vets and is enough to put 2 on my own head. But thanks to God, my family and the VA, I find the will to move on just like you said. USMC 88-92 then Army 96-2016.... You have many politicians, judges, and doctors that are anti-military, not just the DA's. Even regular citizens only pretend to care or respect us when they see some of us in uniform, but in civilian clothes, they look at us like we are beneath them... Many that have been blinded by political smoke are also against the police and military if either are not supporting "their side" of the coin. Very few veterans have gone on mass shooting sprees the likes of all these crazed non-vets over the last 20 or so years, yet that red flag law will affect us the most. Hard to have it affect a non-vet when most are never diagnosed with PTSD or anything else... But ours is in our records and will start being used against us. I mean we have heard service members that were killed in action called suckers, and POWs being called losers, yet sadly we still have veterans voting for them and cheering on their hatred of all things not like them. People say that they understand, then react negatively when they see our issues. I have tried to keep up with most of my former Soldiers, even have several of the former Marines that I went to Boot Camp with on my FB friends list... No one can understand what another person goes through because things affect different people, differently. The best we can do is talk to each other about things as a safety net or even a channel to vent. VA Psychiatrists have proven unhelpful and only wish to pump drugs into us and turn us into docile zombies. Sometimes all we need is that ONE person that can give us that peace and comfort just by holding our hand during the hard days... I left America with that one person and now live in peace and have been able to handle the issues I got from my 7 combat deployments.

Both sides of my family have served every branch some even before WW1. Even some of the in laws. Make sure, (not a joke) that your support group is close enough to cover while you reload, literally! If it weren't for that Ole Man, I found in a Diner May of 1989. a Vet of Korea and Vietnam. Today I'd be dead or in prison. "Pappy" may he R.I.P. spent thousands of hours helping me find my way back, I still miss him. Everyone knew he wasn't my father, but they all called him my dad. I had to travel 14 hrs. to reach my father or the place I called home. But Pappy made it a point to always be around sitting beside me at the bar or counter or the other side of the booth just drinking coffee. I'm sorry for the book writing. But this is a huge and complicated issues with tragic results. As a soldier I'd rather be repeatedly kicked in the nutz, than be shunned as an outcast, disrespected, or looked at as a threat to the same people we risked our very lives to protect! We just weren't trained to handle that kind of pain. It's even worse for our troops today. Most aren't even trained to survive! Much less how to live after you come home missing pieces.

I’m not sure you’re right when you say, “Nothing happened to me”.
Known service related symptoms, ‘DENIAL’, multiple divorces, unsteady employment, unresolved anger, nightmares, flashbacks, estranged children and/or presumptive illnesses. Most communities have a VFW or government sponsored veteran advocates.
The VA isn’t perfect but it is a great resource for veterans.

They want you to talk with a Therapist, so they can document how effective the damage is. Also if you are a danger only to yourself. 22 a day? Nothing but crickets. Pointing that thing anywhere else.... Hold on there sonny we knew you were a bad egg from the start. Now we have all the legal excuse to treat you worse than the decades of neglect, discrimination and abuse we have already done.
Talk, will change nothing. Actions are required, hold them accountable and speaking to those who are part of the problem will NOT make things better.

Music channel. Dig that. We like music, not lectures. Let us be crazy if we want. We don’t need babysitters or advisors. Just sayin’.

I felt obligated to talk about the subject the video covers and show other veterans that they are not alone.
