He did. Called "Look to the Sky". Just seen the pumpkins last night in Newcastle Australia the best part of the show was Billy and James shooting the shit and James doing a cover of under the milky way by the church before going into tonight tonight.
Little darling belle with such a fragile shell In the powerful way that love seems to make her all regret it now And if she'd only say what's wrong- she can't go on You've got to be strong now And if I come and hold you now You'll be safe and sound Little lonely face that no one ever sees You see the thing she believes is life is bittersweet if she'd Open up to me, and its the only thing she dreams, You gotta believe You've got to be strong now And if I come and hold you now You've got to be strong now If I hold you now If I hold you now If I hold you now Oh god if I could change a thing tonight we won't Be lonely, ooh god if I could change a thing, Why does it have to be this way You've got to be strong now And if I come and hold you now You've got to be strong now If I hold you now If I hold you now
He is what kept a good balance in the Pumkins. The solid, inner-observing member. Quiet but powerful in his tranquil character. Loved this guy the most too. Don't know why, really. I guess because he's so chilled.
@@tbhon Nothing weird! Ha! We were on the same dorm floor at Loyola University of Chicago (Lakeshore Campus). James was a really nice guy. He had a keyboard in his room that he played. We said "hi" and stuff, but I didn't know him super well. We talked about music once, and that's when he told me that he was auditioning for a band that weekend. He kinda disappeared after that semester, and I didn't think much of it until I saw their first album come out and thought "Oh, hey, that's the band that James was trying out for! Cool!" 😄
Jame's voice in this song has a natural autotune-like quality. I bet this song would resonate more with audiences of today more than It probably did when it was released.
it's so tender, cute and pure! Why is it so hard to stick together and having a heart full of luv nowadays!?? I always cry at the end of this clip :( By the way, hello from Brazil!!
But of course his voice is far from unique and emotionally tense and raw as Corgan's. I love those imperfection of vocals among front men, that what makes them to stand out..
This beautiful song in this "open" E major chord is a wonderful composition. I know absolutely nothing about The Smashing Pumpkins - that's of my son's generational thing - however, I recognise a great song when I hear a great song !
If only his solo stuff could be judge without the context of SP. I think most of the criticism is b/c it’s such a departure. Great tunes, great record. Lovely harmonies.
I've always been REALLY obsessed with this album. None of my friends who were super into the Smashing Pumpkins didn't believe me that Iha had a solo album. Those that would give it a listen, weren't into the whole '70s singer-songwriter vibe.
mi piace questo clip, soprattutto mi piace il testo di questa canzone. raramente sono stato aiutato da canzoni, ma questa canzone mi aveva aiutato in un momento di difficolta'. mi aiuto' la frase "if she'd only say what's wrong She can't go on"
No, the thing isn't in' betterness ' but in' bitterness '. When you feel that a person get every fucking emotion or memory through himself, that's what I feel when I listen to Corgan. He's got that, though not a masterful vocalist.
James isn't really a rockstar like Billy nor do I think he's really cut out to be but that's not a bad thing. He seems to enjoy making the more chill and lighthearted tunes as opposed to Billy's typical mopey and dreary material. Both of them are musical foils to one another and the Smashing Pumpkins need them both in order to be a fully realized band. Billy can belt out the vocals and shred the solos and James can assemble absolutely ingenious riffs and chord progressions that compliment the other songs on a record. James isn't a great singer but what his solo work lacks in production value and vocal talent it makes up in character and being full of a genuine love for music and what he writes about. You don't have to be a master at all musical areas to be a solid musician, and that's what James is.
when this album first came out James Iha said in an interview that this album was a reaction to playing heavy gigs each night, he naturally created a chilled out album as a contrast to the heavy stuff of the pumpkins. Its such a shame that it was underappreciated because of the unexpected style, but if you give it a chance, there are some gems on this album
What a great song. It reminds me when I was lonely and depressed...
Wish James would do another album... Such a good songwriter and singer!
He did. Called "Look to the Sky". Just seen the pumpkins last night in Newcastle Australia the best part of the show was Billy and James shooting the shit and James doing a cover of under the milky way by the church before going into tonight tonight.
Let it come down is such an underrated album. Love listening to it every morning.

In the powerful way that love seems to make her all regret it now
And if she'd only say what's wrong- she can't go on
You've got to be strong now
And if I come and hold you now
You'll be safe and sound
Little lonely face that no one ever sees
You see the thing she believes is life is bittersweet if she'd
Open up to me, and its the only thing she dreams,
You gotta believe
You've got to be strong now
And if I come and hold you now
You've got to be strong now
If I hold you now
If I hold you now
If I hold you now
Oh god if I could change a thing tonight we won't

Why does it have to be this way
You've got to be strong now
And if I come and hold you now
You've got to be strong now
If I hold you now
If I hold you now
So underrated especially in the pumpkins :/ No-one ever gives him praise in the comments even though he's my favourite member :)
He's my crush back in the days... hehehe!! I love this song when I saw the video and recognized James instantly.
He is what kept a good balance in the Pumkins. The solid, inner-observing member. Quiet but powerful in his tranquil character. Loved this guy the most too. Don't know why, really. I guess because he's so chilled.
Hes my favorite member too
@François Gellin with billy or not, james is james.
THANK YOU!
Always loved this album. 18 years later! Good lord.
His voice is lovely
This is absolutely excellent. One of my big concert regrets is never having scene the original The Smashing Pumpkins. Keep it up James.
井葉さんはいつまでも心のアイドルです。どうかいつまでも元気で心に響く音楽を♥
James Iha is absolutely brilliant even to this day
Such a soft and beautiful song.
James you always in my heart
Went to college with James. Never cared for the Pumpkins, but I really dug his solo record. Great tune.
Tell us more abt his college life
@@omandeesamaratunge6003 Don't be an asshole using the Death Note

I was thinking the same thing.. I liked it when it first came out originally, but listening to it now, I feel like I'm appreciating it even more
Soooo! COOL
I love 'Let it Come Down' Soooo much
I sing with his CD!
I'm listening to in December of 2018!
You're forever!
james iha forever
it's so tender, cute and pure!

By the way, hello from Brazil!!
Opa!
sweet voice!
Awesome song and album. James Iha rules
Jan 2020 I still love this song
すてきです
And to think Billy kept this hidden from us... Imagine if he'd let James write more Pumpkins songs...
He did that's why we have mayonnaise and SOMA BABY.

No James Iha, No Pumpkins
*No, James Iha, not the pumpkins
James Iha, Pumpkins
@@chrisothoulos james iha, of the pumperkins
That’s all nothing to say haha ;)
I completely agree, Smashing Pumpkins music really sucked without James Iha
This gets better with age.
Wowowwow can't believe such an amazing musician is so underrated
James was like the George Harrison of the Smashing Pumpkins.
Or the 90s
Wow you’re so right
Come to think of it,yeah..you're right, ilove them both
so A Perfect Circle like Traveling Wilburys?

I like how it’s not really long
Happy Birthday James Iha!
I'm pretty sure you were the reason I loved the smashing pumpkins James. Corgan kind of sucks without you dude.
Except for zeitgeist
@François Gellin hmmm...this seems like Billy using an alt account
Never even knew this existed. Great.
Great tune. Small hint of Wilco.

Nice Song
everything about this song is nice !
love this song.. never gets old 😊
Love this!
If only his solo stuff could be judge without the context of SP. I think most of the criticism is b/c it’s such a departure. Great tunes, great record. Lovely harmonies.
It’s his SP fame that allowed him to make a solo record in the first place. Otherwise no record company would have accepted him as a singer.
so cool and warm.
perfect!!!
Eres. Asombroso Iha...! y que. hermosa mujer.
This is a nice song. This sounds a lot like something from a Machina 2 era song. A lot like his song Go.
anyone listening still in 2021?
