Meet the most autism-friendly town in Canada

  • The town of Channel-Port aux Basques, N.L., has gone from having zero local resources to becoming the first autism-friendly town in Canada. Last summer, the mayor made it official with a declaration signing at the town hall. This all happened thanks to the mother of a newly diagnosed son and a retired special education teacher.
