i grew up with all the farmeros in porterville. lot of my friends are part of that life from serveral diff hoods. Im white and grew up sleeping on ppls couches cuz my parents were in jail/on dope etc. my mexican homies families always took me in, kept me fed, schooled me on how to act right and pretty much treated me like i was one of their kids. They have big numbers because SoCal is a lot bigger population wise and geographically. It is what it is. Like you said NorCal has some big cities like Frisco, Oakland, San Jo, Sacra, etc., but when you add them a lot the population is much smaller. For example, LA County just by itself is over 9 million people carnal. Then add in SD and Ventura County (Oxnard is deep) and other southern cities. That’s why they out number Northerners. Recent census data shows that the entire population of SoCal is 23 million people mas o menos compared to 15 million in NorCal. The reason the culture down south is the way it is, had and it’s all about money they are a bit closer to the border by than making them closer to wider connections and affiliates, as for the streets?
