We have a Mobile mechanic here who has a modified car trailer that acts like a 4-post lift he puts the cars on for all services.
That is awesome!
This guy fuckin rocks! He’s quick, efficient, honest, and professional. Great work! Subbed!👍👍
Thank you so much for your kind words I really appreciate it! And Thank you so much for watching and subscribing!
watch the language will you?
I don't know why this channel is so entertaining to me. Maybe it's because my grandfather owned and operated a gas and service station, and I'm a total desk jockey, so I don't think I could do what you do (or what he did). Or maybe it's because I just took my own car in to the shop for some work this past week. Or maybe it's because of the way you handle every job like a boss and treat your customers with such respect and empathy. Whatever it is, keep on doing what you're doing! All the best!
Wow thank you so much for your kind words! Thank you so much for watching and commenting I really appreciate it!
Normal car getting fixed always satisfying because it's a dirty job that could drag on for another year or get someone to clean or repair it right way
I was a mechanic in Texas for a few years. The shop was always an in-progress dumpster fire so I ended up doing a lot of jobs out in the lot. It’s a brutal way to work on some days. You are the man. I still get a touch of PTSD when I see a Snap-on truck in the wild.
That humidity out there hits different than California! Thanks for watching and commenting!
I left the dealers in SoCal back in June after about 8 years. Beginning my own mobile hustle as well. I'm actually very impressed how set up you are in only 5 months time;
Props to you brother, best of luck.
Since he had a dead battery. Would it take hours to fully change the Battery. And put a strain on the alternater.
Seeing this makes me more inspired to work on my car without having a garage. A lot of videos I've seen are people having a nice ventilated A/C Garage keeping them cool while I'm seeing an OG (you) working in hot weather conditions. I respect that!
Thank you so much for watching and commenting I truly appreciate it!
Nice clean work. Proud of people who work with their hands.
Thanks for watching and commenting!
I’m old school and it amazes me that you have to almost stand on your head just to change out a alternator.
I like the Battery in the rear idea with one connection lug up front 👍😎✊
It’s not a bad as some of the vehicles out there but I agree nothing like a classic with all the room in the world. Thank you for watching and commenting!
Me too!
Great work, only thing I noticed you left the nut from the power supply lead (the one that rolled) off the old Alternator on the bulkhead.
Good eye. I did pick it up before I left.
GOOD JOB ROBERT THANKS BRO.
Thank you so much for watching and commenting I really appreciate it!
Awesome channel, wish you were in Pittsburgh!
Hemet sure has changed since the late '80s!!
Thank you so much for watching and commenting I truly appreciate it!
Just want to suggest that you should use fender covers. I have been twisting wrenches for 53 years and found out the hard way if you dont use something to protect paint. It can be a little spendy. Otherwise lov what you do
Thank you! I do have one I use occasionally depending on the job
I wish we had mobile mechanics in Missouri
I’m surprised you don’t. We are flooded with them here. Thank you for watching and commenting!
Those good old codes lol ... keep up the good work !
Thank you for watching and commenting!
Excellent attitude and step by step approach to diagnostics and repairs.

Hey man! Love to see videos on mobile mechanic work. It’s super admirable to see an honest fella such as yourself helping people out! Can I ask: what do you use for filming? The quality is awesome.
Thank you ! I appreciate it! I use a GoPro 12
@@QualityMobileAutomotive good to know! And then do you just have a basic head strap you use?
Yes I just use the head strap but I wear it on my hat. I found it is the easiest way to get everything in the video.
Hats off man keep doing what you're doing
Thank you!
Nice work Robert! You really know your way around those tools! Keep up the good work! 👍
Thank you Tim I appreciate it! We will keep them coming!
I'll keep my old trucks ty
Another fine job completed nice :)
Thank you!
That sound at 13:40 is a wrenches nightmare 😅. We miss you our fallen 8mm 10mm friends! We think of you often.
I see Chevy is still making cars that fall apart right off the lot….Great channel! Subbed!
It's a 14 year old car.
I love watching your video's in Ireland, keep up the great work. ❤❤
Thank you so much! And Thank you for watching and commenting I really appreciate it!
Let me throw this out there:
I had a 1991 Camaro where the battery died overnight. Yes, I fired the parts cannon at it and changed the battery because my son needed it for college the next morning. The next morning, the new battery was dead. The alternator was charging at 14 vdc so fired the parts cannon again and changed the alternator. Next morning, battery dead again. This particular Camaro had a weird battery cable that went all around the engine compartment dropping off at different locations before ending up at the starter. Changed out the battery cable in the engine compartment (one long piece with splice joints) and the problem was solved. That was a weird one.
That is a weird one. I’m curious as to what was wrong with it.
@@QualityMobileAutomotive I suspected that it had a high resistant open somewhere in the path between the alternator and the battery. I had a similar situation in an old Pathfinder but it just needed a new accessory clamp at the battery.
@@2-old-Forthischet ahhh the Pathfinder gremlins, I had a friend with one :-)
Sounds like an excessive parastic draw…i would hook up a multimeter to the negative post and terminal of the battery, set the meter to mA and start pulling fuses to see which circuit would eliminate the excessive draw(assuming you know what the normal draw for the vehicle should be)and go from there..hope that helps
Another job well done!!!
Thank you!
Great work you go above and beyond . Was a nice car to cheers from Australia 👍
Thank you so much for watching and commenting I truly appreciate it!
Okay, what's really bugging me is the runaway nut that he put up by the firewall and all the way to pretty much the end of the video it was still there.....don't get me wrong, you do great work. As an old air force mechanic who worked T-38, F-5, and F-4's you screw in 40 to 60+ screws on a panel with a !@#$% speed handle, no battery powered tools then go "shit did I put the plug in the oil tube on the gear box????"
The runaway nut was the old alternator B+ nut. I did grab it before I left as I went back up and double checked everything then seen it.
I’m curious about the diagnosis process and what jobs you won’t do in a driveway.
This was a customer requested job. They didn’t want me to diagnose it. I don’t do major jobs at customer houses (engines, transmissions, head gaskets, etc) but I do them at my place.
Nice job, I like your work truck 👍
Thank you so much for watching and commenting I really appreciate it!
Thanks for the video.
Thank you for watching and commenting!
That was easy, Dodge caravan, had to pull the radiator fan shroud, drain coolant, airbox, remove inner fender well. Still a PITA! took about 1-1/2 hours.
Love the video!! Could you do a truck setup video?
Thank you! Yes that video will be in a few weeks. Stay tuned.
The only thing that was missing was a loud proclamation of Chevy thunder when it fired up.
That’s exactly what I was thinking!
Hey Robert! Another great video bud, keep them coming! You inspired me to hustle up and take the leap so i posted my first video on my channel...pretty dry and more of a "how to" but it can only get better i hope...curious what type of camera or gopro do you use, i need to figure out something that works better
Regards,
Rob
Hey thank you! I just subscribed and am watching your video. I use the GoPro 12 on a head strap mount. You will get better every video!
I replaced an alternator on a 2000 S10 with a four cylinder 2.2l engine for free for a person with little to no money. It was ridiculous what I had to do to change it out! You would think a 4 cylinder would be easy…not!
Some of them I wonder how and why they put it there. Thanks for watching and commenting!
00:01 Ok.. you gotta tell who's "we" and "us" .. that's four we's in the 1st 20 seconds 🙂
Could be just you and me, or us utubers? or is there a partner there behind the scenes, us?
Either way... love this
I’ll leave that in suspense! 🤣 sometimes I have someone with me sometimes I don’t. Most of the time it’s just all of you guys and me. Got in the habit of saying we.
@@QualityMobileAutomotive Love it..
Nice work. I like your videos so far. I do wanna know if you picked up that nut off the cowl area on this job. Not trying bash at all. Just curious if you caught that in the video?
Thank you! Yes I did lol good eye!
Great video
Thank you for watching and commenting!
Another great video ! Are your sockets color coded ? Man you just reach in your bag to change sockets and you always have the right one......how do you do that when there is 5 or 6 sockets in the bag ?😊🤔
Thank you! Yes they are! They are the color coded harbor freight sockets. They help save so much time!
Might be a sign, my 13 Pilot might need an alternator or a new belt. Hopefully this is the alternator that needed changing
Thank you for watching and commenting! Sometimes signs come in weird ways
You're welcome! Let's get Al Gore's Rhythm right
should really edit key pad pins for gated communities and such, yes people can get in climbing fences, but atleast they cant bring vehicles in with out destroying the gate otherwise.
Meet and Greet would be cool if you decide to do it. Im just over in Fallbrook I'll ride out on an interesting Moto. Thanks for the interesting content.
I was out in fallbrook on Tuesday. Now I’m curious what this interesting moto is! I’m not sure when I can make one happen and if anyone would show up. I did meet a subscriber near me that rides also and I’m planning a ride that I will mention here soon.
@@QualityMobileAutomotive Awesome, look forward to meeting you. Will contact to arrange for service also. Not sure if you work out here or if I can bring vehicles out your way. I'll call your office to find out details.
Nice job. Neil is it? I like the channel so far.
Thank you so much for watching and commenting I truly appreciate it!
Another great video!
Thank you!
Hey if you were to put your logo on a fender cover what kind of price would you put on them
Hmmmm great question! I’d have to look into that.
@22:03 What’s up with that car parked on the side of the street completely covered in plastic & masking tape?! 😂
🤣 they were painting the house next door. I asked them if they were going to do my truck too…. They said not a chance.
Nice work! What program are you using for writing RO's and looking up repair info? Thanks 🍻 🤘🏻
Thank you! I use Mitchell 1 manager
Yeah that autozone always had the best service because lowkey the other ones are kinda wack 😭
Best one I’ve been too
Hey brother, I really enjoy your videos and your approach to dealing with people. If you don't mind me asking. What are you using for technical information?
Thank you. For any technical information I use Mitchell 1
There is a hot wheels camaro for sale here I've been thinking of buying as well
They do look pretty cool! I didn’t see the flame til I was walking away.
Ive only watched a few of your videos. Every time I see your tools, parts, etc on the ground Im wondering why you dont use a service cart? Nice lightweight plastic one to throw in the back of the truck
I wish I had the room for one. Im constantly reorganizing to maximize room but unfortunately I can’t justify the room for that.
I was an automotive mechanic for about 10 years, then a union elevator constructor. Personally a cart would be a top priority, id find a spot. People have different styles and techniques, good luck to you.
not that I saw but do you use a mechanics guard protector ? doesn't take much to scratch paint
Depends on the vehicle and job/working position but yes sometimes I do. Thank you for watching and commenting!
How can buddy make money at doing 3 rooms for $110. That should be more than that with gas as high as it is.
That’s what I told him! Gotta raise those prices with the times. He does do a lot more than carpet cleaning also.
Luckily it is not a racecar
What brand alternator did you get from autozone? Was it an A/C Delco? Is the alternator Remanufactured or new.
Hey bro that was great work. One quick question tho. Why do you buy the parts and not make customers buy parts, aren't you wryed about Liability. And another question I'm always interested on how other mobile mechanics charge there Customer? I charge by Job not by hour. But I'm also out if augusta ga. Where are you out of
Thank you! We buy the parts because we actually get a discount on them to resell and make a bit of money on them. I sell the parts at what a customer can buy them for. We also buy the parts to provide a warranty to the customer on the job. I charge by the job. I look up labor times using Mitchell and I charge my labor rate by time it quotes. I’m in Hemet, ca 2 hours away from los Angeles
@QualityMobileAutomotive ok kool so UT all the way over there wow alright it's always interesting to me to see and hear how other mobile mechanics do things. Btw I like ur truck I work out of a 2015 f150 with my bed full of all my tools. But thanks for the info bud I appreciate you taking the time to answer
@@jimmymcnamara8149 anytime! Thanks for watching and commenting! Do you have any videos out?
@QualityMobileAutomotive no unfortunately I have thing on tick tock I'm about to buy a go pro possibly but I've been a lil to busy to record most of the time
A camero?
Chevrolet Camaro
Do you work in Murrieta?
Hi yes I do!
All the moving around of the camera makes me a little dizzy. Lol
Sorry it does that to some people. Unfortunately this is the best view for my style of video. I am trying to remember to slow it down though. Thanks for watching and commenting!
I see why he paid you to do it.
I'm impressed every time I watch you work young man :)
Thank you I appreciate it very much!
Long time since I seen someone need to unlock a door with a key
Thank you so much for watching and commenting I really appreciate it!
We need more honest mobile mechanics like you in texas
Thank you!
I think the same about Pennsylvania whenever I watch his videos.
Man you got that right. I like the way THIS mobile mechanic works, truly professional. I live in Waco Texas, the mobile mechanic I called showed up in a small Ford car with his tools in the trunk. Not many tools I figured since the car was still level . Two months later I saw him on the highway working on a truck, same small car. Regardless I prefer professional mechanics . Thanks
Not the gated community haha HAO gon send em a bill for bringing mechanic inside haha
🤣 thankfully I’ve been in and out of a few HOA and haven’t had any issues yet.
It's like back in the day. When everyone is having a cocktail, while I'm invited over. Hey, can you look at my car? Ha ha. No cocktail for me until I get this thing running. People be friendly
Thank you so much for watching and commenting I really appreciate it!
That Camaro is near where I live. I tried requesting service I will give you a call tomorrow. Great video and work thanks Neil
Thanks Neil I look forward to hearing from you tomorrow.
@@QualityMobileAutomotivedid he ever call you??
Good quality job, how much did you charge for it?
Thank you I appreciate it, I charged a fair and competitive price. Thank you so much for watching and commenting I really appreciate it!
Wish you would go on tour😂😂😂😂 I could use you
Maybe one day!
My wife is a windshield washer maniac. I was always refilling it. Anyway I starting buying tablets on Amazon that dissolve in water. Much cheaper and take up no room.
Nice job!!! I would probably test it first before replacing it to confirm someones diagnostics.
Thank you! It’s a Customer request. They didn’t want a diag and from what we talked about on the phone made me believe alternator also.
Did I hear wrong or did he ask you if you went to college? Did you just learn at a dealership?
That’s one thing that couldn’t stand was someone looking over my shoulder if they did I would tell them that they weren’t allowed in the shop sometimes they get in without the service manager seeing them and I’m just wondering how in the world can you afford to live in California the State government has lost their minds tax this tax that in Texas we don’t have State taxes and our gas prices are around three dollars per gallon I hear that the want to charge emissions tax so much per mile I love watching your videos keep up the good work
It’s the nature of being a mobile mechanic. People are curious because they don’t get to see in the shops so they want to get a look. Thank you for watching and commenting! I appreciate your kind words!
That Camaro doesn't sound too good
GOOD JOB!
Thank you!
Great video
I do mobile mechanic work also
What software do you use for your repair orders because that looks like it would be definitely helpful for my customers
Thank you! I use Mitchell 1 manager
How do you feel about the quality of today's aftermarket automotive parts? I've found that the parts are junk. I think the alternator should have been from a dealership.
I think aftermarket parts definitely lack quality of oem sometimes. I wish I could get every part from the dealer but it’s not in most people’s budget. I would be out of business if I did that.
I’m glad your content came up in my RUclips feed last night. I’ve enjoyed your videos and have great respect for your work and work ethic. I subscribed right away….keep up the great work and great content…greetings from Texas….
Thank you very much! I appreciate that!
I used to deliver to that AutoZone as a hub driver out of the Autozone in Rancho Cucamonga
Nice! I love this Autozone. Best customer service.
Nice job…well done, if it were my car, I would have used some kind of fender protector on the front end, just shows that you go the extra mile for the customer. Regards
Thank you. I sometimes do use a fender cover depending on the vehicle and what I’m doing or wearing clothing wise.
I waited until the brakes were rubbing metal on metal and now I am in a hurry
Definitely should get them replaced
I have a 2002 Trans Am that needs spark plugs and wires replaced.
If you’re in my area I’m your guy.
Do you get discounts on parts at Autozone?
We get commercial pricing at all parts stores. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Hello , great to see your video again . God bless …ed
Thank you ed I appreciate it!
Here comes 20,000...
Awe thank you I hope so! And Thank you so much for watching and commenting I really appreciate it!
Great job..

Thank you!
? If you work on a diesel truck that has 2 batteries both of them have to be disconnected
If in doubt disconnect them.
