- Опубликовано: 4 авг 2024
- In today's video, we are checking out the app Multitracker. This is an app for iPad that I use to run backing tracks for my live shows. You can do a simple method (with just one mp3/wav file) or do multi track outputs with up to 18 different outputs with just one cable. Plus, you can create setlists/playlists, use midi, and a lot more.

If you ever decide to give up gigging, you should become an instructor of something. Your instructions are very understandable.
Thanks 🙏
Just wanted to say that this is one of the rare no bs tutorial on ANY subject. Thank you!
Thanks 🤘
My Duo has used this app for a few years. It is just so simple to use, and allows our sound engineer to mix the tracks perfectly. I highly recommend it. Used to we ran the tracks without mixing them...having the ability to mix the tracks individually makes a huge difference in our sound. Great video, Scott...thanks man!
The timing of this video has been unreal! Just coming over from the old school method of Click and mono track to 4 separate outs! Literally just finished sorting them all on logic and about to set up the iPad! This video came up trumps! Thank you man!
Awesome! 🤘🤘
Hey Scott! Just wanted to say thanks from all us working musicians dude. You have a ton of time saving and invaluable info on your channel. Happy holidays and the best new year my friend!
Thank you 😊 I’m glad so many people have found this helpful!
Nice walk-through, I just started using this app. Thanks!
Really concise and to the point. A lot of great info without unnecessary commentary. I'm a android user but considering getting iPad for this app. Also looking forward to digging into your midi videos, you got a new subscriber. Well done!
Thank you! I appreciate it
Another great video. Thank love how you find these really cool apps to make things simple.
Thanks! This app can be simple or more complex, and I like that about it 🤘
Great content as usual! Learning a lot from you. Thanks for this Scott. 👍
Thank you! 😊
Great! I’ve been looking for something like this! Thank very much.❤
Glad to help!
Wow man!! love the way you explained all the functions. I’m just starting to introduce backing tracks to my live performances and was looking in what gear to invest, this video got me way ahead on my research. Great tools, thanks for sharing it! 🤘🏻👍🏻
Thanks!
I’m sold on the midi function! This is amazing!
I love that it has midi!
Very helpful, I need to update to the latest even though I've used tracks for performances since the 1990s.
Thanks
Very nice! Thanks Scott!
Thanks man!
Man, thank you and congrats for the channel! You rule!
🙏 thank you!
Great solution and thanks so much for sharing. Gonna follow you as I need to deep dive on this stuff. 😅
super useful, thank you
Nice! I run tracks from Ableton but till I can get my redundancy set up sorted this is a great backup! 👍
Awesome thanks
I always learn so much from you...amazing. THANK YOU SIR. Subbed
Thanks for the sub Jeffrey!
Genious thanks !❤️❤️❤️
Thank you very much for the hint to Multitracker!
Outstanding. I am starting to try to incorporate backing tracks to make my solo shows more entertaining. You also have the same mixer I just purchased for my backing band. Outstanding again. Thank you excellent video
Nice! Yeah man, this is great for sure and would work well for you 👍 there is another one called Stage Traxx 3 I’m going to do a video for that has lyrics with it if you need that
@@ScottUhlMusic I just saw that one on the app store. I might need it eventually. I would like to get myself and my band proficient at them so that if one of them can’t play. I can still do a show with them.
This is so awesome. I have to try this out. Thanks for this video Scott.
Thanks!
@@ScottUhlMusic no problem. I currently use multitracks for my band and didn’t like that I don’t have the flexibility to control each individual tracks for FOH. Wish I would have found this sooner. But Thanks again Scott.
very informative. Thanks
Thanks a lot. Best regards from Brazil.
Thanks!
As always, you killed it with this tutorial!
My band uses backing tracks and I've been trying various options. This one seems to be the best so far. I change snapshots on my Helix anywhere from 20-30+ times a song, so having a device that can send MIDI is crucial. We're always changing up the filler sound clips that we use between songs from set to set. Being able to create the MIDI file, move it in coordination with the backing tracks in Logic, then load them both into Multitracker saves me a lot of time. Alternatively, for every set alteration I would have to load the songs into StageTraxx then go through the lyric sheet to meticulously adjust the timing for each snapshot change.
The only thing is that there seems to be a little bit of lag with the MIDI commands once they're in Multitracker. If I move the MIDI region 200 ticks ahead (to the left) in Logic before exporting and set the latency in Multitracker to 30ms (max setting), it seems to line things up - at least for the 2 songs I've tested so far at 175 and 162.4 BPM.
I really appreciate you sharing your wealth of knowledge! I've been using techniques from a lot of these videos to achieve levels of enjoyment with my music projects that I never thought were attainable. Thank you!
Thank you! Glad you found the video helpful and figured out what works best for you 🤘🤘
Perfect timing. We’ve just started using tracks. Currently mono plus click. Planning to go stereo plus click/cue. Already bought two of those lightning-USB B cables, Multitracker app.
Also, pickles
🥒 perfect! Glad it helped you out!
Great video. I never heard of the multitracker app until now. My trio currently uses another app for tracks but I want to try this out with our Behringer XR18. Thanks!
Thank you so much for all of these videos. I am a drummer that has been using a metronome with my IEMs for awhile now. My band is now getting some attention and the more I look around, I see plenty of other bands using these types of tracks and honestly this will solve some of the problems of my occasional forgetfulness on stage. I will now be diving in head first as we are starting to play our originals every gig now, so I will be starting with those songs. Content like this is why I love RUclips. Just a wealth of information at your fingertips. Kudos to you Scott!
Thank you! Glad you have found the videos so helpful!
Same here. Staring a new project and these videos have been super helpful. Are you using the headphone jack on your iPad or the USB-C?
This is great! Although I run studio one remote on my iPad and it does the same thing!
Hey man great video. Greetings from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
Thank you!
Our band has been using the multitracker app for two years now and we’ve never had a problem at one of our live shows.
We use the midi feature to control our light show and make program changes in our guitar and electric drum rigs
I heard you mention in another video you were going to do a review of this app and I’m very thankful that you did, it’s a really robust app and has enough features for all of our live needs
We run it through an audio interface with 4 outs:
1) cues to band IEMS
2) click to band IEMs
3) backing tracks to front of house
4) special cues just for the drummer
Awesome! Yeah it’s a great app!
That is great! How do control the lights and guitar patches???
@@artguitar2002 Multitracker can run a midi track along with stems. So an easy way to control lights is if you have an old Chauvet 40 or something with a midi in, you can send it program changes from the midi track. Set up the midi track in your daw along side of your stems. You can even then use a midi keyboard to program your lightshow by recording the track live while hooked up to your lights.
@@Riffman42 That awesome! That's for the tip.
Can you use the midi function to change Headrush MX5 patches, effects etc?
This should also work with the Mackie DL16s/32s. Great idea!
Subscribed!
Thank you!
I love that app. Totally bulletproof, the only issue I’ve ever seen with it was down to a faulty lightning to USB-B cable.
Yeah, and cables can malfunction any time, so always have a spare!
I've been using Soundcue. What's the best app that's similar to this for the Iphone??
@@kareydavis Stage Traxx 3
Liked the "what the hell" at the very end of the video. Lol
🤣 glad someone caught it
I bought a cymatic u24 about 9 months ago hoping to use it as a show programmer for tracks and midi controlling.. come to find out company is out of business was bought by another company but they're not doing anything as far as support goes and this thing is still brand new in the box.. that's problem one problem too I've always been Android or PC nothing ever to do with apple or Mac.. it seems like what you have here is so user friendly coupled with your videos which are extremely informative I probably should cut my losses and start getting into Apple formatting..
Cheers.. and thank you!
Apple has it's pros and cons, but it has more pros IMO for sure.
Wow thanks, it’s great to separate your bass from your drums, thanks for posting!
Thanks for watching!
been using multitrack for few month, really great simple unit on ipad......ive built a set list, and ive created my light show on MacBook via showbuddy active, I'm recording the light onto a dmx recorder, can I send a midi signal to the recorder, so both track and lighting will start at same time in sync, seperately
cheers
This is great stuff, Scott. Have you done a video on your live PA and monitoring setup?
Thanks! And not on my live PA, but my IEM rack is here (although there are some updates): ruclips.net/video/ZVWjseFbmQQ/видео.htmlsi=iHimDmj_1M4su86U
Thanks for this video and all the amazing content yo published. I learned almost everything about wireless gear from your videos.
I have a question. Can i change presets in multiple processors using different midi channels assigned to one backing track by this app or stage traxx for my band?
Thank you! And yes, absolutely. I like using this product for multiple outputs for midi on different channels: ruclips.net/video/iWPTYBq0VdA/видео.htmlsi=Q86_VBHqXXqawp18
Your videos are incredible! Thank you Scott.
Anyone else still not getting audio even after setting the source to usb @6:10? I followed the steps exactly yet I am still not getting sound. I am wondering if there is a hidden setting in mixing station I am missing.
Excellent video! Wondering if you’ve heard about a new version with looping? I love this app, but I need to loop sections here and there. Thanks
Thanks! And I know that Stage Traxx does loop sections of a song: ruclips.net/video/uUb3M-hYtE4/видео.htmlsi=D1w0RW7YQb-FPrhS
thanks for the video and the information, it could work with the behringer flow 8 that has a connection for that same cable
I hadn't heard of that and just looked it up. Very cool digital mixer!
Really helpful and I like the app from what I have seen so far. Have you tried using this with a powered USB hub?
I have not, but if you try it let me know how it works 🤘
Thanks Scott, love this kind of content! Currently I'm using a Cymatic Audio U24 rack unit that runs the backingtracks aswell as midi but I might go with your setup as a backup (in case our Cymatic unit decided to bail out on me). Would just require an iPad (which we have for our Midas MR18), the configured apps and a USB cable. Neat!
Nice! Yeah good choice for having for a backup 👍
Hi Scott! Great videos!
Our wedding band moved to Multitracker a few months back from Sound Cue. Really love the options it opens up.
I was wanting to try adding some MIDI controlled elements to our set; Lights and HX Stomp switching.
Is it possible to do both with the app or is it one or the other? Wasn't sure how many MIDI tracks you can load into the App?
We don't use tracks for every song so I still would like the ability to control the lights for non tracked songs. Guessing this is possible depending on what controller I have? Currently using the Stairville DMX Joker which I believe I cannot use MIDI with so would need to upgrade to use Multitracker.
Any help would be much appreciated and keep the great videos coming :)
All the best!
Yup you can send midi to control both! If you don’t play to a track or click you will just have to trigger the lights yourself 👍
That is fuckin awesome! Smart app, cool video and presentation of features! Love this broad and quick overview - perfect for me to grasp "what's possible for me!" For my XR18 bands: Well, I use a laptop so I can play cue/click _and_ record the show simultaneously. BUT: I have another band with an X32 with uTrack card - there this could be really a cool deal. So thanks again for doing this great video - will check this out - liked! Best regards, Stefan
BTW: Love all your videos, you really do things the way I also like it - so now I also hit "abo" (german...) ... follow? ... anyhow, keep up with your videos - these are so valuable source for real musicians... thanks!!!
Thanks! Glad you found the videos helpful!
Can I send the multitracker to a audio interface and out to a mixing console if I do r have the behringer.
thanks for the tutorial really helpful, will this work with an RCF M18 Digital mixer?
I haven’t used one, but if it has an usb input like my behringer it should 👍
great as usually Scott, but in multi track setup, can i use audio interface instead of digital mixer? just incase my laptop broken so i can use my ipad as a backup..
Yup, you definitely can use an audio interface instead! Anything that accepts usb 👍
Great video; thanks for posting. Question, I use Mainstage for synths, can Multitracker recall files from MIDI SongSelect? So that I can have Mainstage call up the various multi-project?
I believe so, yes. Anything that receives midi commands can be controlled by MultiTracker since it has midi files available
Good stuff! Can you run this app and mixing station at the same time on the same device? Or do you need two devices?
Yup, I’ve used both at once 👍
Thank you very much, is there any chance to use Lyrics with or in this App ? Thank you ! Happy new year !
Not yet, but I know they are working on it! Stage Traxx 3 has lyrics though
A little confused as far as mixing levels from the XR18. Do you do it in the XR iPad app or in the Multitracker app, or both? Seems like you still need the mixing app, either the one you're using or the XAir app, in addition to the Multitracker app....?
You can do it in either. You don’t have to use the xr18, you could get something like an interface like Track Rig and use it that way. This was just a way to demo it for RUclips. Any digital mixer, you’ll need an iPad or app to mix with it. But you can set this up in multiple ways.
@@ScottUhlMusic OK cool, thx! I thought since Multitracker can't flip the XR18's inputs to USB, you'd still need the XAir app to do that. I think for starters, I'm going to use my 2 output Mbox Mini (USB), and just have the mono music mix & click tracks/cues on separate channels, and work my way up from there, but this app looks rad! Thanks for the tip on that karaoke site for the tracks as well!
Great video. I have a question if you can help me please: What about the conectors of an Ipad 10th gen? It doesn't have a entrance for P2 plugs. In this case should I use an adaptor for USB-C to P10? Does it work well?
Thanks! And that should be a USB C connection
Very good tutorial thanks, got me up and running. I have the same problem that I cannot hear anything like you say in around minute 6. I'm using iConnectivity Audio4c and wondering what mixer app I should use? On Mac they say to use Auracle X and this works fine but on iPad?
I’m not sure tbh, you’ll have to problem solve to see why. Replacing cables, closing the app, diving into menus is the best place to start
@@ScottUhlMusic Yeah actually I think the problem is me understanding he mixer app. Now using Reconfig Audio but it's weird ;-)
Very nice tuts. Great work. How do you do the precounts with titelname?
Thanks! I go over that in this video: ruclips.net/video/nw8wZfFSQ2w/видео.htmlsi=6ZklB-dWyjumiyQl
Nice Video - Stage Traxx 3 ipad app now supports multitracking, but I haven't tried it yet. That's what I've been using. Does Multitracker support lyrics and sending out midi commands?
No lyrics, but midi yes 👍
Thanks for posting! Gonna try this app out.
On a side note, if I wanted to send click + backing tracks playing from the iPad with a 3.5mm/xlr or 1/4 inch split for click panned L and backing tracks panned R to in-ears and FOH, would you plug into the Stage Snake Splitter and split the signal to the mixer and send the backing track tail to FOH?
The signal flow of all these different cables for am in ear rig hurts my head 🤣
Thanks! And check out this video and it might help you out: ruclips.net/video/XQjFhkQTVP8/видео.html
Thanks, Scott! Really good! Where did you get your separated tracks to begin with?
Thanks! And those were from www.karaoke-version.com/
Would it also work with Moises?
I looked at getting this for our band but if you’re looking for a more in one solution that has all this functionality including lyrics and more midi implementation without having to use a DAW then I highly recommend stage Traxx 3 (iOS only though)
Yup, I’m working on a video on stage Traxx 3 as well. It has lyrics if you need those as well. Multitracker is fantastic for midi and backing tracks and multi track outputs though if you do not need lyrics 👍 And I do agree that the midi on ST3 is easier and doesn’t require a DAW
@@ScottUhlMusic fantastic, look forward to that video when it’s up. 👍🏻
Hi Scott! Thanks for the super helpful rundown of Multitracker. Had a quick question - is there a way to change the sample rate on the Multitracker app or the iPad Pro? When I connect my Cymatic LP 16 in the USB/Soundcard mod, for some reason it sets the sample rate to 48Khz, while my stems are at 44.1K and I'm just not able to find a way to change the sample rate. Thought I'll check, if you or someone here knows how to do this? Thanks!
Thanks! And that I’m not sure, I don’t believe so and it just depends on the stems you use
Thank you again for this informative video
You used a XAir 18 via USB for up to 18 tracks.
Do you know if that would work also using a Soundcraft Ui24r?
Thanks a lot. 🖖
I believe it should yes, but I’ve never done it so I could be wrong
Hi, Will a lightning conversion work into that same 1/8 to 1/4 for newer iPads?
Yeah you just need an adapter 👍
Great, do you happen to know if it works with the irig blueturn and boss fs 1 wl?
It should work with the iRig I believe… not sure on the boss
does all this also work on the qu-series of Allen&Heath? By the way: I love the way you explain things. Clear and catching - thanks!
Thanks! And I believe it does, but you’ll have to check. I’ve only used it with Behringer and Midas
Awesome channel! Have you ever been able to find a suitable App for handling backing tracks on Android? There are so many good Android tablets out there with more than enough hardware to handle this sort of thing, but it seems that there's no app available anywhere on Android that can do what this can... Guess it's just one of life's great mysteries. 😏
Thanks! And I’m working on a video on this…. People do not like the answer: get an iPad. Majority of apps for audio stuff are built on iPad and iOS is much better for audio. There is a really good video by Andrew Huang on it actually: ruclips.net/video/-sPbcTcUmcI/видео.html
@@ScottUhlMusic Thanks! I will definitely check it out. As for getting an iPad, I'm already looking for one that will suit my needs better. Keep up the awesome work!
Great video thanks Scott for doing this I'm glad you like the app it looks amazing. Just to mention again that I believe Sebastian had intended to out out an upgrade to Multitracker this year but unfortunately hasn't been able to by the looks of things - am wondering why else is in store! In addition Peter at Stage Traxx is also very supportive of the ST community with his fantastic app which is the one I use currently!
Yup both Multitracker and stage Traxx are quite awesome! I like both of them. Looking forward to the Multitracker update!
Hi great tutorials, can I use just one ipad for the mixer (Behringer) and stage traxx?
Yup! I do that all the time
This is more about the XR18 than about the iPad app but I have 2 questions about this:
Does it work to mix the main outs like you would an Aux? Say mix 6 tracks out to individual Aux's and mix ears to the two mains?
And do you know if you could use MainStage for tracks like you do with the iPad app?
Thanks!
You cannot split the left and right of the main out, but you can get a stereo out to a musician for an IEM mix if you are not running FOH sound.
And I’m not familiar enough with MainStage, I use logic, ableton, stage traxx 3 and b beat personally
@@ScottUhlMusic Thanks for the reply!
Working out my playback/monitoring rig and deciding if I should use laptop/ipad to play tracks and use something like the xr18 to output individual tracks and mix ears or just use Mainstage + audio interface to do everything.
Thanks for showing us this app. Relying on the connection from an ipad headphone out makes me nervous. Do you secure it with tape or something to ensure the connection?
Yeah that’s always a problem for sure. Recently I did a gig where the cable came slightly out. I caught it during sound check and fixed it and it was fine all night. It does make me nervous though. But we do it almost all the time and it’s been fine in another band.
I didn’t know if it was the headphone Jack or the cable. So I always have a spare of both. Even if the spare iPad is just your iPhone 👍
@@ScottUhlMusic Yeah, I opt to use a mac thru an audio interface. I'm more comfortable with USB connections.
Thank you for that video. I was not aware the iPad can control multi track audio interfaces. Is it possible to record multi tracks with the iPad from the XR18?
I haven’t recorded tracks with it, but you are supposed to be able to I believe, yes 👍
Talk about Giving yourself lot of work .
Yeah, but it’s worth it if it’s what you want multi track outputs. I personally use single-file method, but if a lot of people want multi track outputs
Does MIDI file playback work well with multiple tempos? Will the app use the tempo saved in the MIDI file or will it force the MIDI file to play at its preconfigured fixed tempo? Thank you
I would program the midi file in something like logic, with all the tempo changes, etc, and then export it so you know it syncs up properly 👍
Great app,Thanks . would be perfect if the app shows. the key when plays the song ?
They are working on adding lyrics for this app. You could also put Brown Eyed Girl - G for the songs too as a workaround 👍
Dear Scott, what do you think about the last software from Steinberg about backing tracks : VST LIVE PRO ?
I haven’t heard of that one, but I’ll have to check it out
@@ScottUhlMusic Many thanks in advance. I bought it. It's great but Steinberg didn't and don't explain to use it with a different display and sound for each musician in a band on stage.
So you are a great specialist with nice experience and I would like to read your personal feelings about it.
Phil from Dunkirk 👍✌️
Hi Scott,
Just bought an Allen and Heath CQ 20-B to do backing tracks for my garage band. When I use Multitracker and then Start Mixing station Multitracker disconnects. Can you have both apps running at the same time ? Is there a setting I missed ?
Thanks, Ronny
I use Stage Traxx and mixing station at the same time with no problems. Haven’t tried that with MultiTracker
Hey, Scott. Got another basic question for ya (sorry for the annoyance, just excited). When importing a SINGLE track (hard pan left/hard pan right), is there a way to mix a little bit of the backing tracks with the click so that the drummer hears both? Say the full left channel (backing tracks) goes to the house, then the right channel goes to the drummer's headphones. Will Multitracker allow you to mix a little bit of the left channel so that drummer also gets to hear a little bit of synth in his headphones?
Short version: Does Multitracker allow mixing the left and right channels to each (left and right) output when using a single track?
You wouldn’t want to do that that way. However, I do have a trick on how our drummer can get a direct feed of the click and tracks on this video: ruclips.net/video/IChXq2e1-D4/видео.html
@@ScottUhlMusic was also thinking a work around could be I pan the click hard right and then pan the back tracks 70 percent left. That way drummer gets a little bit in headphones. Would I that work you think? Or would the click (right side) bleed over to the left and possibly cause the click to be heard through the house PA?
I guess you could do it that way yeah 👍 that would work
@@ScottUhlMusic will give it a try! 😎
Hey Scott, wanted to say thanks for the video as this has entirely made my live rig possible so thank you! Just a quick one regarding Bluetooth midi; I’m finding when I connect my remote, the app doesn’t recognise that I’ve connected it and the midi controls don’t work…but if it’s left for a while, it starts to work? Do you have anything similar happen? Or do you have a way to get the midi aspect working reliably that isn’t immediately obvious? Thanks!
That’s definitely odd, no I haven’t had that happen. I’ve had Bluetooth disconnect before and I have to re connect, but I’ve never had that happen
Great video, Scott. Just wondering if you have any additional info on how to use the midi timecode function for a timecoded show. I'm not comfortable with Bluetooth reliability for MTC with a show and was thinking about just recording an LTC track as one of my backing tracks and sending the timecode to the control room via regular analogue audio sends. Is Bluetooth the only avenue to get a midi send from your iPad/XR18 setup? Thanks again.
Will this work with Apple Music? Wonder if it’s possible to play the song track through multitracker and put it through IEM Aux 1?
What do you mean “with Apple Music”?
What format do you have for multi-channel backing tracks is that MIDI only?
I’m not sure I understand the question…
Hi Scott. Great video! I’m wondering, our band does lots of wineries and festivals where we are at the mercy of whatever random sound company is mixing that day. If they don’t have a usb input are we out of luck?
You can use something like a TrackRig or any sort of audio interface in order to be in control of it and send them xlr outputs 👍
Okay awesome, thanks for the quick response. This seems like it’ll be a huge improvement! 😀
Which level of iPad is necessary? Great videos
Mine is 4/5 years old and works great
can this device be connect the ipad to play multi-tracks, as well as connecting live instruments through the xlr to play at the same time?
I’m not quite sure what you are asking. But the app is meant for multi track backing tracks 👍
Are both the iPads needed? Could you run the mixer and MultiTracker from a single iPad?
You can yes, I just made it easier to see for the video
So at 8:38 where you have multiple MP3 tracks, are those separate MP3 bounces from Logic? Or did you import a Logic project, and it automatically separates the tracks as MP3s?
I exported separate stems from logic or karaoke version 👍
@@ScottUhlMusic I See you're using older generation iPads as well, as they have the headphone jacks. Is this to avoid having to use the headphone jack adapter with newer iPads?
Yup 👍 It’s annoying they removed the headphone Jack, but that’s something we do have to adapt to (pun intended 😊)
@@ScottUhlMusic haha. Yes, I also sent an email over to SoundCue to ask about their app no longer being on the App Store. Thanks for your help!
Great videos! Just got mutitracker up and running with songs. Looking to connect my Airstep lite to use as remote, can this be done? So far no joy 😅
If it sends midi, you definitely can 👍
Hi Scoot, I bought a USB-C to P2 adapter to use with my IPad Pro but I connect to my mix and don’t work! If I plug my headphones works perfectly! Do you know why I’m having this issue? Best regards
Interesting… no I don’t know
I may be wrong but I cannot find anything in the information for Multitracker that shows it can play midi tracks to send control change data. I want to be able to send audio as well as midi program/control change information.
You absolutely can. I demo it in this video. However, you will need to program a midi file, export it as a midi file (from like logic or something) and then import it to the iPad.
I do like Stage Traxx 3 better personally for midi programming because you do it directly in the app.
Great job!! I loved the video. You did an excellent demo. I hope you are in contact with Sebastian. He would be very appreciative!
Thanks! And I’ll have to message them to let them know. He made a really cool app 🤘
I knew you'd see this, John! :D
Good videos, some helpful solutions.. Thanks! .. Havent heard you mention using lyrics. Figured if you need to have cues cooked into the mix, that you'd want to at least have the lyrics in setlist order in a folder on a tablet or at least on your phone. 300+ songs is a lot of lyrics to commit solely to memory.
Yup, that’s what I do with Stage Traxx 3. Working on a video for that now, but I know that MultiTracker is working on an upgrade to include that
@@ScottUhlMusic That looks like a very useful app! Coupling the instrumental track together with the lyrics of a song is very convenient, bcs handling lyrics and backing tracks separately for every song is very tedious and a constant chore to juggle the two, song after song. Unfortunately, ST3 and other apps that can do it, as far as I know, are all for iOS devices. Maybe someday someone will "crack the code," so to speak, and write an app for Windows and Android that can serve that same need? Not sure why that hasn't been done yet in 2023...
Stage Traxx 3 is for android as well I believe 👍
@@nodaysback8390 Stage Traxx 3 is available on Android I believe
@@ScottUhlMusic Thank you. When l checked last year, all of the capable apps were only iOS and mac compatible. It's still not a great solution since l use a Surface Pro 7 and a phone screen is only so big.. good as an emergency back up, as you said in other videos. But, too small to display lyrics.
is it possible to control dmx with this? using midi and playing the mp3 song at the same time
I have a video on how to use midi to control DMX: How to USE MIDI to Control Your DMX LIGHTING - Full Tutorial

So how does the multi tracker faders affect the X18 air app?… why not just use the XR18 mixer app. For instance if the bass track output is assigned to say channel 3 can’t you just control it from X18 app vs flipping back and forth between apps
Yup. That would be the way I would do it. I wouldn’t use the faders on Multitracker really unless you needed quick access to it in a pinch. I would use the behringer app instead in most situations
How to determine if an interface/mixer will work with multitracker app? I assume other than having an usb input, it has to be compatible with Ipad and the app itself.
If it has usb, most of the time it will work. But they should say how much usb audio will work in the specs sheet or manual 👍
My Roland vima displays lyrics. Does the multitracker do this?
MultiTracker does not, but stage Traxx does: ruclips.net/video/hdaaBINlx2o/видео.htmlsi=G4hCAo5fQ0mRKjka
This video is extremely helpful. One questions and maybe I'm just missing something you already went over. If I want the backing track to be stereo output to the house and split both left and right for monitors, how is that wired up?
I’m not understanding your routing, can you elaborate?
@@ScottUhlMusic I haven't routed anything quite yet and just doing preliminary research. So my question would be, I would have my split signal, backing track on one side and click on the other, but when sending the back track out, how can I be sure it sends out to the house in stereo rather than not being hard panned to the left as it is in my monitors? Sorry I am new at this
Ah, I understand. That should not happen. If it does, watch this video. It’s the same idea, I just go over if that happens with earbuds: ruclips.net/video/WpvkVrNQtxA/видео.html
My files are on my pc. What would be the easiest way to transfer to ipad?
Also is it possible to dump all files at once from one ipad to another ?
And thanks for all your help. I look forward to integrating this program to our group.
I’m not really familiar with windows, so I’m not sure. And with the iPad you can always do a backup and then restore the backup on the other iPad 👍
While the iPad is connected via USB to the table, is the iPad charging? thanks
No, if won’t be charging
