This is the game David Woodley told his wife before it started and he was going to quit, he called her from the locker room minutes before kickoff. He loved playing games, but he hated everything else practice, the media, the pressure just drove him crazy and that's what made him drink.
When my mom told me she was leaving my dad and moving to San Diego back in 1982, my first thought was The San Diego Chargers, and The Fans! They were the futuristic style of Football back in 80s and best team over all , until they reached the playoffs.
What a Complete different team the Steelers would have been if they drafted Marino.. I'm a raider fan but The steelers would have gave Marino something the dolphins never did a running game and a defense And he would have at least one Super Bowl.. Stallworth & Lipps Cunningham & Still Great O-Line
David Woodley was the worst quarterback the Steelers ever had and that's why the Dolphins got rid of him. He cost them the Super Bowl against Washington.
"Air Coryell" were a bunch of weasels trying to score at the end of the game. If a Steeler had injured one of the Chargers they would have been crying.
It was payback for the Steelers dirty play on Fouts the year before. The Chargers could have scored 70 that night if they truly kept the pressure on. Like Fouts said to your defense "Ah, quit your bitching" Don't like it? Stop it.

I remember watching this game at 15 years old

Agree. Probably more than 1 ring. The Steelers had some good teams!
The one year Marino would have gotten the Steelers the ring was 1984
I would have given Marino 5 rings with those Steeler teams!
+@@jefflouis3113 Wrong! Niners were to strong.
I see this idiotic comment a lot. It's a joke to anyone who knew Marino's flawed game.
44:26 I know Wes Chandler was fast but how on earth did the #1 pass defense leave him so wide open?
Wild game!
Do you have any 2004-2006 Jacksonville jaguar games??

San Diego Chokers were a joke under Eugene Klein. Cheapskate single handedly destroyed potentially a powerful powerhouse team.
are you gonna cry? :)

Pretty unbelievable the scumbags tried to score at the end. No rings for Fouts! Good!
