I remember watching this game while we were decorating the Christmas tree, watching Joe Morris losing his shoe on that long touchdown run. I had just turned nine years old. Great memory.
I had to work so I missed this game; nice to catch up after 33 years. Love watching Parcells yell at Simms after all those retrospectives documenting their relationship. RIP Enberg & Olsen; grew up listening to these guys. Great trip down memory lane
I dont mean to be off topic but does any of you know a way to log back into an Instagram account?? I was dumb forgot my account password. I would appreciate any tips you can offer me.
Ken, you're the man! Thanks for all of the classic Giants games! Hope to see more from 1985-1990 in the future. Dick Enberg, one if the best to ever do it, "Oh My!!"
I remember watching this game. When Morris's shoe came off on that 65 yard run we were calling him "Shoeless Joe". Great game, great memories; thanks, Ken.
imagine if they shared the same division? they are going after each other as if they did. also their are 4 hall of fame head coaches here, Noll, Parcells, Dungy and soon to be Bill B. As well as a HOF GM (George Young) and I'm sure Mr. Rooney will garner future consideration. (What did you call them?), 2 great respectable teams!
Enberg and Olson was NBC answer to Summeral and Madden. They also called big games on NBC. Dick Enberg along with Curt Gowdy was the voice of NBC Sports
8 future Hall of Famers in this game and one other when he retires. The HOF's are: Dan Rooney, Chuck Noll, Tony Dungy, Mike Webster, John Stallworth, Bill Parcells, Lawence Taylor, Harry Carson. The 9th and final one when he becomes eligible is Belichick.
@ ken gelman I was just if you had these games of 1990 new York giants games 1990 week2 giants at cowboys 1990 week7 cardinals at giants 1990 week 16 giants at cardinals because I was trying looking for these games from that season I was just wondering where are your video I am very sad because I haven't heard or seen any video for a long time
Ken Gelman It was only second and last loss in that perfect season. I want to see how Seattle stopped the best player in NFL history in his prime season
@@jenyakostak2155 I'll see if I can get to it. I rewatched that game about a year ago. biggest issue was the Giants offense. They were missing their top 3 receivers due to injury and Jacob Green punished the Giants O line and got to Simms.
Dennis Dirt Winston should have been a starting, but Chuck noll had his favorite over his talented & best players. Bill cowher or any coach. And to make matters worse noll hire Joe Walton and the Jets could never beat the steelers, but the steelers organizations hire Joe Walton.

I was 11. What a time right !!
my family used to drive to giants stadium and watch the games !
Great game. It was on a Saturday afternoon right before Christmas. I grew up a Giants fan just outside of Syracuse. Joe Morris was my hero.

Parcells would never yell at Phil you must be mistaken lmfao
Great time it was
The only coaching matchup between Chuck Noll and Bill Parcells
I’m an Eagles fan but this was my childhood on sundays. Thank you for so many great videos.

It's between 37:00 and 38:00. I stop and start the video and can't find where Joe's shoe comes off but I can see his sock flapping in the breeze.
It's replayed and highlighted at 39:39.
Great game - Joe Morris at his best! thanks for uploading.
1985 & 1986 Joe Morris was amazing!!
Larry Schmitt Morris ripping the Steelers
As steelers fan I grow fond of giants have mad respect for giants. Two great respectable teams.😁🏈🤲🙌

Thanks for posting. George Adams! Jamal's dad!!
I would love for the helmet just to say Giants.....this is when i started watching the G- men.....well coached and talented team
"Little Joe" was a beast, awesome Cuse back, broke Jim Brown, Ernie Davis, and Floyd Little's rushing title!
Really too bad Joe got hurt....
He was tremendous. And a big part of the Giants Super Bowl year in 86-87.
I was at this game on December 21,1985.A Saturday
Me as well.
I was at this game as well. I was 10 years old
I was living at 404 B royal lane apt un Clinton North Carolina. And i was as high as a kite. But loving every minute of it.
The Jets played the Browns at Giants Stadium the next day. Bill Parcells attended the Browns vs Jets game.
Watching Bill Parcells get the Gatorade shower was like watching Soupy Sales get a pie in the face.
Loved Joe morris. Was MJD of his era.
This was on WNBC-TV Channel 4 in New York, in Pittsburgh on WPVI-TV Channel 11 still NBC affiliate. In 1985.
RIP Dick Enberg & Merlin Olsen!
Thanks KG
Two winning seasons in 20 years and then Bill Parcells. Thank the football gods for the man who brought us rings for Chrostmas
@Frankincensed • Giants had a total of 6 winning seasons under Parcells (1984-86, 1988-90)...and made the playoffs 5 of those 6 years
Good game.Kudos for the upload.
THANK YOU!!!!
A young Bill Belichick wearing a red Giants jacket
Romeo Crenell and I think even Matt Patricia wore red coats when they served as defensive coordinators under Belichick with the Patriots.
Enberg and Olson was NBC answer to Summeral and Madden. They also called big games on NBC. Dick Enberg along with Curt Gowdy was the voice of NBC Sports
Tom Landry's last division title just ahead of this game.
Awesome work ken

There is one guy in this game who is not in the HOF and should be, Bart Oates.
I’m a Giants fan, but I agree Donnie Shell should be in. A case could be made he set the standard for the run stuffing strong safety.
ccth22 Donnie Shell is now a Hall of Famer.
Carl Banks should be as well
Good stuff man, thanks
I attended this gem!
All 👀Can say is Thank U Big Blue 56 1&Only👌👌👌
very nice man, thanks
nice to see you back and to see a 1985 NFL game on NBC being uploaded, because I love that intro
It was on nationwide!!
Parcells team defeated Noll's team...defeated Walsh's team the following week....then they were demolished by Ditka's team
Jim Burt v. Mike Webster....two legit dudes

Not a fan of either team, but a great game regardless.
That Steeler loss gave the Browns a division title
2:12:55 Probably not the first Gatorade shower, but it was the first I remember seeing.
It started in 1984 with Jim Burt dumping a big bucket of water on Parcells after a game.
Didn't like how you can't see the score through the whole game 💯
Merlin Olsen and Don Criqui: Rest in peace .
Scott Caampbell should be hall fame
Looking for the 1985 playoff game vs Chicago. Please post it.
Why?
Duck Enberg sounds like Lionel Hutz and Troy McClure.
can you please upload the game between Giants and Seahawks in ^86?
I have that game too. Wasn't the best game. Why the interest in that one?

Ken Gelman Got it. It is an ultimate team sport. Only defense can’t win it all
look at the giants fans in those puffer jackets !
I HAVE A QUESTION FOR YOU BUD?
If only the steelers had drafted marino ooh what could have been
@1:03:14......Lawrence Taylor....rushing from the left side of the defense gets completely mugged by the offensive lineman.......no flag.
Looked he was overmatched by #62
USA Citizen .........I guess you reviewed the video with Stevie Wonder and Ray Charles. #62 was flagged for holding.....blatant holding on this play.
@@byrongammonbyrongammon9937 Parcells declined penalty because his guy was beaten soo badly on the play and it was obvisously a terrible call.

Look up "the silent bowl" from 1980 and you shall find your answer.
@@kengelman1011 Yes I found it. Basically an experiment. Thank you.
Steelers sucked 85 through 88 If I didnt know better I'd assume Mike tomlin was coaching the team.
giants beat up the steelers in this one
No😂
