    I actually liked in morrowind how the beast races walked differently, and couldn't use boots or full face helms. It was like, they're different. It was cool.

    • @hahano1121
      @hahano1121 4 года назад +49

      @Sam Guevenne I remember a mod that let you turn any boots into leg bracers that beasts could wear. Beyond that, it also made sense that morrowind didn't have proper footwear for them. A bit unbalanced perhaps, but it made the world seem more realistic.

    • @WASDLeftClick
      @WASDLeftClick 4 года назад +22

      If we’re going for realism, the beastfolk could wear footwraps. Humanoid folk could wear them too, just in a different style. Maybe there could be cloth ones, leather ones, and ones that include metal plates to protect the top of the foot. Let them be enchanted too and I think it could work, giving the beastfolk an extra item slot but still limiting them to a fraction of all the footwear. Humanoid races wouldn’t be encouraged to wear them unless they have a good enchantment or if they’re going for an ultra-light armor build, since boots would naturally offer better armor bonuses.

Morrowind has just a different type of Khajiit and Argonians and the other games also have different types of Argonians and Khajiit. The physical form the Khajiit take depends on the moon and the form that Argonians take on their hist. This lore was even astablished in Morrowind or even befor, so you can not blame Oblivion, Skyrim or ESO for changing the lore.

      I'd love to see ES6 set in Blackmarsh. Treetop villages for a few human/elf settlements and perhaps unique floating villages woven out of the local plant life for Argonians. Scattered around huge Maya inspired stone temples where some tribes of Argonians still worship the old ways with mysterious rituals and blood sacrifices! I'd still prefer Akavir where the Empire and Dominion have fought themselves to a peaceful stalemate and have turned their attention to colonising Akavir and your race (unless you use a token) determines which faction you belong to. Whoever performs well enough in Akavir finally turns the balance of power in their favour through a mix of settlement building and questing with the locals. (Though I'd offer a way to automate settlement building and just require the player to gather enough materials for those who hate settlement building.) In my ideal ES6 naturally I'd play a Bretton and an Imperial so the advantages go to the Empire and the Dominion is eventually crushed and subsumed back into the Empire. But a game set in Blackmarsh would also be really cool and enjoyable.

    I was, for the longest time, a voice in favor of the Hist. Having been my first race to play in TES III at the wee age of 12, I fell in love with them and the world. Now, after Oblivion, Skyrim, and information from TES Online I quite firmly believe the Hist has groomed the Argonians to be the perfect tenders to it. It has lashed them body and soul to its very being and stripped away all that would be a problem to itself. The Hist is, to be blunt, the Argonian's first Masters. And I don't know that will ever actually change. Its certainly made me see them in a newer, sadder light.

      There is to little evidence to tell that they would’t be in a very bad shape without the hist. Unmaking their civilization was good in the way of protection for them and the Hist. Because they live in tribes in the middle of the swap they can never be conquered and the Hist can be forever protected in the swap heartland. May be advantageous. Even more so if they reeaally depend on the Hist. Remember they were the only ones to kick Dagon’s as because of the Hist guidance.

    • @Supermonkey3000
      @Supermonkey3000 3 года назад +2

      @@Nimai_Aquino Yes. They beat Dagon. They're the only beings during the Crisis to DO that. Now ask yourself. Where was the Might of the Hist when the Dunmer were raiding them? At any time the Hist could have enpowered its tenders to banish the Dunmer from ever thinking of setting food in Black Marsh again. But it only acted when the Hist itself was in danger from an Oblivion invasion where the Marshlands would do little to the invading Daedra.
      You might say that the Hist took its revenge immediately with the Invasion During the Red Year, but that very well could have just been opportunistic. Morrowind just had a rock fall on it's heart and its very own Mt. Tambora explosion, to borrow from our own world to gage the cataclysmic explosion of Red Mountain going blamo.
      The very point I'm getting at is of course they'd be in bad shape, who wouldn't hen your species has been made dependent on an entity who has made itself your people's memory, who had made itself your mother and father. The Argonians may have had a change at being closer to independence with their Vakka Stones and Xanmeers before the Duskfall, but after. The Hist has drawn them tight into their individual Tribes around one of its interconnected selves and leaves them there to tend, care, and revolve around itself.

They don’t take away any free will from the argonians, they have them life and pretty much just let them exist, with a few exceptions like the oblivion crisis when the hist recalled and strengthened all argonians. So since the argonians are mostly just allowed to live whatever lives they want, with their memories just going to the hist after death, it doesn’t really make the hist any better or worse than the divines. Considering that the Hist are basically inanimate trees and the Argonians get more powerful from drinking their sap (as sometimes other races kinda do), it would be a very real scenario where Argonians turn on the Hist and use them to empower themselves. It would be bad for the Hist, bad for Tamriel and maybe (if the Hist were to die out or suddenly stop granting power) bad for the Argonians themselves.

    Dwemer and Argonians are my favorite races in the elder scrolls. If dwemer influenced the argonians in anyway that would be so cool. Maybe the Hist/Argonians were interested in dwemer and coping them and their ideas of making things to last forever but then decided to stop or were unable to copy them. I could keep going with this but I’m curious if anyone else’s thought the same? Or can see what I’m saying? Because the Argonians made large structures to try and last forever just like the dwemer and even have argonian faces build into the structures just like the dwemer. Did the Argonians change their philosophy the same time the dwemer disappeared??

    Great video! I'd love to hear more about the Ancient Argonians' potential connections to the Dwemer. It can't be a coincidence that they were both here before the Aldmer and neither have a discernable connection to Aldmeris.
    If they accidently damaged some hist roots with their tonal groundhogging or hammer throwing, can you imagine a greater punishment for a Dwemer than a life of zero advancement, technology or permanence? Maybe they got brain-dunmer'd.

    I think you're right about the Hist in a sense "dominating" the Argonians, they are old and sentient, older than the dragons possibly and still almost nothing is known about them. The fact the Argonians dont remember the Duskfall, means the Hist are probably keeping those memories from them. Also a good point if the Hist could make them indomitable but allow them to be enslaved, beaten down, and overall mistreated by the rest of Tamriel only giving them the strength to defend themselves and the Hist from the daedra. I wonder if it will ever be confirmed in a later era, would make sense and be very sensational in my opinion.

    • @matthewcopley7679
      @matthewcopley7679 Год назад

      The ones to ask would be either the daedra or dragons.
      Hermès Mora might have obscure knowledge about the trees and as you are investigating, would likely 'appriciate' (claim the knowledge as patronage in exchange for you life, liberty, and to allow you to further increase your knowledge)
      As for the dragons, im unsure if they ever tried to venture into Blackmarsh, you think they would have an interest in the Hist trees if they learn that the Hist sap can change the appearance and gender of Argonians. Dragons as they are not really a race, but more like Akatosh's Watchers, a balance on the races to keep from overpopulation, and resource depletion. If the dragons learn that the hist sap could allow them to have genders, both Male and Female, have biological children. They would be in Blackmarsh in an instant... protect the trees with there lives.

    Zenimax should explorer far more this lore in their complex "life simulater". For a game it is not. Games where in the 1990s.
    ESO is a continent in simulation. Indeed, its not the Simulations from, lets say, 2080...but, it is a profound digital, philosophical art piece nonetheless.
    Ill say that it is Simulation Literature. The art of simulating lives.
    Now, yes, it has its benefits...and aye, indeed, its hinderences too. Since, it but makes you forget our human life. Specialy among children and the easily obsessed.
    Not good.
    Simulations are an art form for experiencing different facets of existence with out actually being in harms way. Call of Duty is one example🤔 That said, it has been called military indoctrination too🤔....anyways...long story short, indeed, ESO can be very combat orientated but that but speaks of our species....other options do exist.
    That said, i play ESO, EU server and im mainly a PvP player😂😂😂😂 oh the irony!
