- You may, or may not, know that I co-present a parkrun podcast called With Me Now. One of our lovely listeners was knocked off her bike around 6 months ago and has been told she won't run again (although we're all hoping Sara proves the doctors wrong!). Sara has heard me mention multiple times just how beautiful Fountains Abbey parkrun is, so she arranged to start her holiday a day early so that she could come and do Fountains Abbey parkrun on her way north! As soon as I heard this I decided I was going to go and surprise Sara and complete her 100th parkrun with her!
Sara was such wonderful company and we had the absolute best morning, laughing and giggling all the way around. And the magic moment for me was when Sara said that for a short while it didn't matter that she couldn't run... the longer we took, the more fun we got to have!
There is a brilliant art exhibit at Fountains Abbey at the moment (Summer 2021) and I hadn't yet checked it out, so the morning was doubly special as I got to see these awesome art installations too (Steve Messam - These Passing Things)!
To top off an already pretty perfect morning, Poppy ran a huge PB! So if Carlsberg made parkrundays I'm pretty sure this would be it!
Happy running and huge congratulations to Poppy and to Sara!
Nicola :)
Amazing Sara for getting back to Parkrun and getting the 100th, and well done Poppy for smashing out that PB!
They are both incredible humans! A really inspirational day 🥰
Absolutely wonderful. Congratulations Sara, well done Poppy, and thank you Nicola for encapsulating so many things that make parkrun brilliant.
You are absolutely more than welcome Sally! It's not hard to show all the wonderful things about parkrun, it's just so bloody brilliant! 🤗🎉 And Poppy says thank you 🥰
Huge congrats to Sara for her sheer joy and Poppy for her achievement.
Thanks 🤗 I'll pass that on to Poppy. What a morning! Almost a week ago and I'm still buzzing from all the excitement and how wonderful it was! 😃
Absolutely loved this. Cheesy smile on my face❤.
Yay! On mine toooooo 😃😃😃 parkrun is so magical! 🤗
Absolutely loved watching that, it was Fabbey, Fabbey, Fabbey! So many beautiful souls and special smiles 🥲
Thanks for being the facilitator of lots of the happiness! 🤗🤗🤗❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for your part in making it extra special
How wonderful, and great memories made. Love the laughter, fun and positive energy
It's definitely a parkrun I'll remember for ever. It really isn't about the running when it comes to parkrun and this video proves that! ❤️
Love Fabby, want to go back again now! Thanks Nicola!
Although that is why I’ve never run in the North East as I seem to end up there!!
Thanks Jonathan ☺️ Ha ha... Yes it is hard to tour with such a beautiful parkrun there isn't it! 😍😍😍
Lovely Nicola , best wishes to Sara on her continued rehab 👍
Thank you, I'm sure she'll read this 🤗 Sara is doing awesomely so fingers crossed she continues as she's doing right now. That girl is incredible 😍
Love the joy that is exuded in this video. Congratulations on your 100th parkrun Sara and on your PB Poppy.
Oh good... I'm pleased if that came across because it was just such a brilliant morning! I love that something that started as a competitive time trial has ended up becoming something magical where the running doesn't even matter! 😃❤️
Another great video, Nic!
Congratulations to Sara, and with best wishes for a continued progress to a full recovery.
Awesome work Poppy! Great PB
Thanks Tony! Poppy says thank you very much 😃
Fantastic video, liked use of the zoomed inserts (there's probably a better term!). Obviously lots of fun, well done Sara for her continued progress, brilliant PB for Poppy (well coached Al). Stunning location. ❤️
Thank you 😃 and I can't think of a better term 🤷🏻♀️🤣 it was so fun and Sara and Poppy were both incredible! 🥰
Epic video, too many highlights to list here. What a glorious celebration of being alive. When I go I'll be having a good look at that wonderful yew tree the run brief was given under.
Thanks Luke! 😃 It was such an awesome morning! There are some epic trees there. It's just an incredible place for so many reasons! 🥰🤗
It is so beautiful Luke. It looks amazing in this video it is even better in real life.
A favourite family outing spot of my youth. One day I’ll get back there for the parkrun! Well done Sara and great video as always, Nicola
Thank you 😃 and yes, really hope you get to parkrun there. It'll be extra special for you as it'll bring back happy memories 🥰
So much happiness coming through! The most beautiful parkrun without doubt.
Yay!!! Isn't it 😍😍😍 It was a morning full of happiness, honestly just the best! 😃
Great to meet you all 💛. parkrunners are the best people...fact 🤣
Definite fact! It was an awesome morning! How did you guys get on at the GNR? ☺️
@@NicolaRuns good thanks it was my first half so finishing was my aim which I did 🤣! Ideal weather in the end.
@@JoshuaSmith2309 awesome! The course looked tough on TV! Hopefully back to the proper one next year! 🤞
For sure and ditto right back at ya
Congratulations Sara! So pleased you’re able to parkrun again after your accident. I can see why it’s the most beautiful parkrun, it’s stunning! I loved the artwork too. And wow Poppy! What a massive PB! Incredible running 🏃♀️ I’m in bed missing a second parkrun week as I’ve had a nasty illness (not Covid but no one knows what it is!) so this has brought me some happy tears this morning. Just what I needed, thank you Nicola ❤️
You're more than welcome, thank you for the beautiful words. So sorry to hear you're poorly though! Hope you recover from the mystery bug soon so it doesn't make you miss many more parkruns! Take care, rest up and get well soon 🤗
Thank you. Hope you are on the mend now. Xx
You've sold it to me, it's now on my ever growing list of parkruns to do. Very belated congratulations to speedy Poppy and to Sara.
Thanks David, it's still Poppy's PB so she'll be pleased with the congratulations 😃 And Sara's journey to full recovery will take years, she's amazing and I'm sure she'll look back on these moments with pride ❤️ Fountains Abbey is a spectacular place so it deserves to be on your list 😍
Oooh the spikie thing is bonkers - I love it! So good to see Sara again, well done and well done Poppy. Great video, thank you for sharing.
I wish it was there all the time! I absolutely loved it! It's the kind of art that really speaks to me! 🥰 That day was just bloody brilliant start to finish. Sara is ridiculously lovely and a proper trooper. I have so much admiration for her! What a legend ❤️❤️❤️
Just watched this. The art is amazing!! Interactive art should be at every parkrun! Well done Sara
Shouldn't it just! It's the best and made us feel like children again! 😃 Sara was amazing, the art was amazing... Just a bloody awesome parkrunday! 🥰
18 mins with a double buggy! *mind blown*
SAME!!! That's nuts right?! I mean... I can't even imagine being able to run 18 minutes?! 🤣 Awesome effort so I had to put it in! 💪
Fountains is quickly becoming my winter go to as so many other local runs are so boggy. Can't wait for summer to enjoy the views.
Be great to hear your infectious excitement in real life. Not reached 25 for me but it's a good reason to get out early on a Saturday morning.
Fountains is just super beautiful! I absolutely love it 😍 Come and say hi if you see me there... It's not that often but I'm definitely super enthusiastic when I'm there 😃
Great to see Lady Fifi again!
It's the first time I've met her! I was very excited!!! 😃
@@NicolaRuns I met her when Sara volunteered at Stratford upon Avon juniors a while back.
On my list of parkruns to attend. Probably in 2023
We were here again today! I've just put a reel on Instagram 😃 it was as beautiful as ever! 😍
@@NicolaRuns I ended up doing my Q at Queen Elizabeth parkrun. Very hilly
@@Rubix78 ooh nice! That's the last letter I need to complete my parkrun alphabet 😃
@@NicolaRuns 122 meters of elevation!
@@Rubix78 not flat!!! 🙃
Dolly or Bev!
ARBITRARY!!! We got 2 real life Dolly or Bevs! So it was deffo a mini pow wow 🎉🎉🎉

Hi
This looks great.
You normally have to pay to get in,is it free for the parkrun?
Yes! And... Top tip... If you go a bit early for a warm-up jog around then you can explore a bit before parkrun too! 😃 As soon as parkrun finishes then you have to leave as from 10am it's national trust members and paying public only 🙃
I live nearby and want to try it for the first time, are you allowed to run on the grass because I prefer to run on it ?
Yes ☺️ I'm the same! I love running off to the side although I always have to remind myself to do it! I hope you love it there as much as I do 🤗
Great feel good video. Definitely looks like one of the most scenic courses. Shame it's not easily accessible by public transport. Maybe a trip to God's own country in 2022 & take in a notparkrun
Yes it's set out on its own so definitely not the easiest to get to. I'm sure if you posted on the Facebook page that you'd be able to arrange lifts from a train station. You won't be disappointed by God's own country! 😍😍😍
