She was an amazing woman, we conversed through email, not long after Ridgeway was arrested. I owned a house down the road from where he lived, but at the time he was arrested I was living in Belgium. She was what you see here, she was real. One of my husbands co-workers sister was murdered. During this time she met Ann and they bonded and Ann helped her through it. When it was time for trial, Ann was there at every part of it. She helped her through the trial and even stayed in touch with her after.

EVERY parent who is mistreated by their children, mistreated their child first to make them behave that way. NO exceptions. The fact that they would even WANT to do that to their parent, is proof in and of itself that she did something to them first. She either abused, neglected or betrayed her sons in some way to make them do that. NEVER shift blame of a child's behaviour on to the child, it is ALWAYS the parents fault because they had full power over the child and raised them. If you blame the child then you contribute to the cycle and culture of child abuse. ALL YOU KNOW is her side of the story

Buck, nope, there are ungrateful adults who were treated quite well and feel that they have a right to their parents hard work. It even says in the article that Andrew is a drug and gambling addict who even forged checks because the $25,000 a month wasn't enough for him. Once you're an adult, you are responsible for your own behavior. If she was that bad of a mother then he could have simply walked away from her.

I certainly respect Ann's writing, and she clearly knows how to speak while commanding an audience on in writing or clearly in interviews, but she was a historical fiction writer. The story was there, just fill in the blanks for data that you do not have, or cannot find for lack of time or willingness of due diligence. Although she may have admitted this somewhere, but Salt Lake Sheriff's Dpt Jerry Thompson told me that when he interviewed her several times when they were investigating Ted She was absolutely adamant and vicious when defending Ted as a solid human, incapable of his crimes he was being vetted out for. After several difficult interviews with her, Jerry was shocked to learn that she had taken this opportunity to build a monstrous career on the back of her "friend Ted." I get it, I get being an opportunist but there is an eythical and moral problem here.

Bubble AnnA tbh I would have rather asked about the girls who lost their lives at his hands. I wish there was some way to pay tribute to his victims lives without mentioning him. Many of these young girls were outstanding people who had goals and bright paths ahead of them. Lynda Ann Healey wanted to work with special needs children, Susan Rancourt wanted to work in medicine, Georgeann Hawkins wanted to work in broadcast journalism, Denise Naslund wanted to become a computer programmer, Caryn Campbell was a nurse and was about to get married, Margaret Bowman wanted to be an art historian... just to name a few. Imagine what we lost with their deaths? Think of all the disabled children Lynda Ann Healy could have helped, think of the social movements Georgeann Hawkins could have done with her journalisms, think about the impact Denise Naslunds contributions to technological software could have had...we will never know because their lives were senselessly ended.

This is as Fascinating as Ann Rule, herself, was. Died in 2015 at age 83- cannot believe she’s been gone that long- Rest Easy Ann- you were an INVALUABLE ASSET to society.
Ann was a staunch supporter of Ted Bundy and supported him at trial UNTIL the bite mark evidence- went into the ladies room and vomited into the sink. Never saw or communicated with him again.

When I heard, that she passed away, I became so very sadden for days. She was like a close friend to me, although we never met.😢 I wish she would have written more books. Its not that I would have liked more murderers out killing people, but I would wished she would have written about the hillside stranglers, and other crazies.

What the heck has this anything to do with violent offenders such as Ted Bundy? Did you watch the same interview? She explains it pretty well. Sure, the upbringing is part of the making of a criminal mind, but a big part is genetics and predesposition. Ted Bundy didn't live in crime, drugs and poverty. He had a pretty messed up family, yes, but his mind worked very well on its own. That's why I told you to read. This is a whole other category of criminal we're talking about.

Ann Rule, knew Ted Bundy very well. A little too well. She and Ted worked at a Suicide crisis center together. She also lived in different states where Ted lived at the same time he did. Ann had a direct connection to four of Ted's victims, and provided detailed info on one of them, Denise Naslund, as being "heavily involved in the occult, with interest in witchcraft, alchemy and rttual;" How would Ann Rule know that? Naslund was the baby sitter of one of Rule's friends. Her good friend on the police force, Herb Swindell, was involved in a lot of strange occult practices, and rumor has it that she. Swindell and Ted were all part of a Satanic group in Seattle that was practicing human sacrifice. Ann Rule has a very shady side, and I would say there is a good reason she was such an effective crime writer -- she had first hand knowledge. Too many strange "coincidences" with Ted Bundy, too many to be considered coincidences.

She's right- I listened to Diane Downs' parole hearing on RUclips (both of them) and she's lost her mind. She can't even pretend to be believable. The latest parole hearing she stated that she might be the biological daughter of King Michael of Romania and that hackers organized the shooting back in 1983. She also stated that she plans to make $200k/year crocheting blankets and fixing bicycles and doing lawn work. She even told her elderly mother to stop hiring people to trim her trees because she'll "be home soon and can do it". She continually denies shooting her kids and now she states that when she changed her story multiple times during interrogations, she was simply describing dreams she had and wasn't truly changing her story. I just finished Small Sacrifices and loved it.
