It's amazing the types of foods they serve in schools, hospitals & nursing homes. I was amazed on the food my mom was served after her stroke: small amount of meat, starchy veggies, dessert, juice, milk.....she had type 2 diabetes controlled by her diet & exercise prior to the stroke & they started giving her insulin with the high blood sugars that were caused by the crap they were feeding her.
This is so true. My grandmother was in ICU on the ventilator after suffering from what they believe was a pulmonary embolism. She was a type 2 diabetic. So many IVs hooked up to her. Giving her glucose in one and insulin in another. She unfortunately didn’t live long after that. She came out of the ICU and put into a nursing home for rehab where they didn’t care at all she was diabetic. They were offering her grape soda when I visited her shortly before she passed. 😢
