LOL I’ve fiddled with ATEM Mini Pro for many hours and am now starting to learn what all of the buttons do. It’s an incredible device! #ATEMMiniPro
It might be worth mentioning WHY it is called downstream key... is because no matter what you’re doing “upstream” with your switching and normal keying, what ever is being keyed through the downstream key will appear OVER everything else. It’s down-stream, as in AFTER the normal switching and keys. Did they make sense?
That is a clear explanation. Downstream is always in the foreground (closest to the viewer).

Can I add the lower third without the computer connected ? As in straight from the atem mini pro?
Yes, you can load small PNG files on ATEM just not video files.

Physical and software buttons likely behave the same way. I only use the software because my ATEM Mini Pro is on the other aide of the studio. I’ll tinker around with the physical buttons though and post a video. Stay tuned! #ATEMMiniPro
How do you create the slide ? I tried doing that with a png file but the whole screen became black! . Thanks
You’ve got to be certain that the PNG file contains a transparent background, when you create the PNG file.
I pastor a church and we want to have a permanent lower third with our church name and phone number. We also want to be able to, above that, put the names of our speakers, or name of the song we are singing etc. Is there a way to put the church name permanently across the bottom and then position a name of speaker above that periodically during our broadcast? Thank you for your help!!!
Create multiple PNG images that contain BOTH the speaker’s name and church name. Rotate among images to display the new speaker’s name. They’ll actually all be unique images but each image will
feature the church’s name in the same location within the image.
Im working for a smaller church who just got an Atem Mini pro. I was using pro presenter before but they gone way from using it and im just trying to get the idea of how using more than one lower third would go any help would be great thank you

You can’t output video to a TV like I’m doing with the ATEM Mini but a lot of the other functionality is there.
If I drop multiple lower thirds into the media bank, how can I cycle through them as needed?
Great question! I use the same one throughout my livestreams but am going to investigate that. It’s something that I’ve never tinkered with on my ATEM Mini Pro.

How can you use chroma key and lower thirds at the same time?
Yes I do for my IrixGuy’s Live Show. My Chroma Key comes from my Apple TV 4K video looping and lower third from PNG loaded on ATEM
Can you be in the chroma key on let’s say cam1 and have Apple TV as the background and still introduce lower thirds ? Can you explain how please?

What of a moving lower third not png more like a mp4
You could do what I do and plug in an Apple TV or other video games layer to feed in video via HDMI. I use that workflow for my video Chroma Key backdrops.
How can I use it for a song lyrics, I want to be displaying songs lyrics as a lower third overlay on the screen why the musicians are singing, not on a plain feed but on a live lower third
The only lower thirds that i know are PNG files with transparent background. You could use DVE to bring in a second video clip containing lyrics but that probably wouldn’t be optimal, as it would not be transparent like a PNG. I wish that a future ATEM Mini Pro firmware would add scrolling transparent text. That would be awesome for your use case.
If the musicians weren’t live at the time of the broadcast, one option would be to pre-record their performance and then add lyrics within Final Cut Pro. You could then export that video and play that edited video containing the lyrics to an Apple TV, etc. connected to one of the ATEM’s HDMI inputs.
So at least in that scenario, you could stream it as if live and comment live during your livestream. The musicians themselves just wouldn’t be live though. I wish that I had a better answer.
We use software called EasyWorship and it’s connected to camera 1 so you can have Picture in Picture. Any software would do, like PowerPoint. The PIP window size and placement is configurable...
Is there a button on the atem mini pro to get the mediaplayer(lower third) on the program?
This is how I do it through the software interface. I haven't done it directly from the physical buttons yet but will give it a whirl.

How do you handle the flow of using a greenscreened image on the upstream with 1 media player when I go to choose the lower 3rd image the chroma keyed image totally changes.

I am a bit confused about something. When I drag JPG's into the media section, I can press the "Still" button on the ATEM Mini Pro device and I can also select the "On Air", or "Auto" button under DSK 1 in the software window. When using a lower thirds PNG file however, I cannot use the "Still" button on the ATEM Mini Pro device. Doing so treats the PNG like a non-transparent file. It covers the Program screen with a solid black screen with the lower thirds showing but it is no longer transparent. Is that normal?
