as someone who religiously learns kpop choreo, i would start with something on the “easier” side or perhaps a song in which you won’t feel yourself getting tired a lot. i started off with twice’s signal: relatively easy with the moves but requires jumping quite a bit! then, blackpink’s as if it’s your last: a little bit challenging for a beginner, but not too hard! last, red velvet’s red flavor: the song, in my opinion, was the hardest to learn out of the three of them, but if you want something a little bit more challenging, try it! just go at your own pace, and if you feel like a dance is too hard by just looking at it, try something you will feel is easy!

As a dancer I’ve grown used to ignoring the fact that i have so many imperfections about me, so give the mirror some time and you’ll essentially start appreciating yourself, I know this seems far fetched but it’ll happen
sksksk honestly I learn the first few days by following along without a mirror and when I don't look so much of a bumbling fool because I don't even know the moves I practice in front of my bathroom mirror and make notes of what I need to fix before going to practice without it and I keep doing that every few days or every day
Itzy dance practices will not be in my list 😭😭 im learning one of their dances tho but when i tried the first time i littarly couldn’t move my body anymore 😭 AAAAAAAAH I DIDNT STRETCH
i learned wannabe during lockdown as my first dance and although it was MEGA difficult i got a lot better quite quickly and my legs got a lot more toned very very quickly so although its difficult i would HIGHLY recommend wannabe if you can
Problem: I normally practise dances in my kitchen so I won’t be able to get a mirror in there lmao.. what should I do D: I practice in my kitchen because it doesn’t make as much noise as to not disturb my family and I’m rarely home alone. The only space in my house that has a full body mirror is my parents room and the space is small... help!
if you really have no more option i think filming yourself is the only thing you can do and imo i think correcting your dance move is more efficient when you film yourself than using a mirror because you can rewind or rewatch it anytime going trough all the details and mistakes you do and then correcting it 😊
It really depends on the layout of your kitchen, but maybe you can use the reflection of the oven/microwave screen? If the room is slightly dim, it is reflective. Of course this doesn't work when its on

This is my tip for looking for small details so don't attack me if im wrong (like executing them well i guess?) I usually watch the main dancers or lead dancers fancam because they execute them more good or i just go to a tutorial usually Leia or Ellen and Brian they are so good at explaining small details and i just watched them not really following them (you know like using my muscle memory) and i would practice the dance step again and again until im satisfied PS: im not a dancer i just dance for fun and i suck at explaining so yeah stay safe and byeeee!
you know people say that it takes a Lot of practice and TIME to get better at dancing. but for me, I saw a huge improvement in a month. I danced like.. just 3 hrs a day for approx a month and I could see clear difference and improvement. probably just like others here, I was also thinking that i have to dance for a whole year or two to see improvement. but.. 😄😄 and also.. dancing in the front of a mirror is so so important and helpful. first of all, u can keep track of ur moves and see if you're doing them right or not. and second.. u can work on your expressions. I'm not a dancer and all, just a potato who locks the door and dances inside. so.. thank u for this video. it helped.💜✨
@@jennychhakchhuak8287 I'm not a professional so idk much about what kind of dance u shud do. but I just did some random k-pop dances and some 1 million dances. that's it. hope it helps 🌱✨
I once tried to learn a stray kids dance and not even joking I was trying to learn it for like two hours and gave up bc I obviously wanted to go in order so first all the way to last and I could not and I mean COULD NOT get the first move right and like a couple minutes later both of my thighs hurted and turns out that I pulled both of my thighs bc I forgot that I needed to stretch so thank youuuuuu for the videoooo
Going in order isn't always necessary. I would say learning the chorus and pre-chorus ( if the pre-chorus is same for all the choruses) first is the best. Once you learn the chorus perfectly trust me you are done with half the choreography. The best order according to my experience is chorus then dance break and the verses at the last.
Suggestions for non dancers and beginner dancers: *Don't do choreographies that is above your reach of skills. If you do want to do this type of choreographies, I really do suggest to learn the proper background of dancing needed for that choreography. Anyways, love y'all ✨✨❤️
Hey for the people who wanna learn ... Here r some tips from me cuz i hav been dancing as a hobby since i entered the k fandom..(hope it helps) 1.watch the mirroed dance practice videos again and again cuz it helps u to enhance even the most precise moves. 2. Don't forget to stretch b4 u start or else u might twist some of the limb muscles while doing the strong movements 3. Start with the easiest dances and then move towards the hard ones..this will help u catch up with the change in body shifts.. These r just my opinions so no hate... Well....hav a nice day💕💕
Maybe I’m a little bigger brain than I thought... but I tried to use the mirrored dance practice, and when I actually did the moves in front of my friend (who takes dance classes), she told me all of my moves were mirrored. Turns out, when looking at a video, I automatically do the moves as if they were in the normal video function instead of mirrored version. So that’s why for me, when the dance practice is mirrored, my dancing gets mirrored too. I wouldn’t suggest ALWAYS using mirrored dance practices. Try a normal one first, then think carefully about which hand or leg you’re using for the first couple of moves. If they’re the wrong hand or foot, you’ll want to use the mirrored ones. But since they don’t work for me, I just wanted to say this because of my own experience, and who knows there might be others out there who would benefit more from a non-mirrored dance practoce
1) Learn all moves without mirror 2) Use mirror for details , expressions and overall polishing This makes sure you don't get distracted by your awkward self in the initial phase of learning .
Beginners, certainly do not skip the stretching part. I used to never stretch before dancing and once, my back hurt for a week because of that. Trust me it'll take you 2 minutes to stretch.
I learned some choreos like BP, Gfriend, BTS, EXO and Twice by watching their dance prac vids 5 to 7 times but still look akward while dancing.... I'm crying my soul😭
I love how I've danced my whole life (never good though, I'm lazy af) and I still decided to not stretch before learning a dance two weeks ago. Well, I couldn't move for a few days bcs my thighs burned so much. Ah yes.
SOME AMAZING DANCE TEACHERS ARE SAVAGE ANGLES ( on yt ) LEIA ( on yt ) you should watch the dance practice video ( MIRRORED ) before you learn it ( i tend to watch it around 10-15 times before sleeping the night before i learn it )
My problem is that 1. I'm too shy to tell my parents that I like to dance, so I don't properly invest time to learn the complete choreo 2. I'm a big person so I easily get fatigue (even though I was a dancer for 9 years) And when I actually learn a dance..I can't find a good camera angle to record welp👁️👄👁️
video idea !! what if you make a video where you’ll sort of make a calendar/timeline of dances to learn? like, you’ll suggest dances that will help us learn the basics and then progess from there? idk if in making sense but yeah thats it! ne way thank you for your videos!!

when i first started learning kpop dances my dumda$$ didn't put the dance in mirrored way i did the dance from the dance practice videos and when i found out how it was actually i started from the bottom and tried to change it but i think it still bad
I love learning choreo and this helps a lot tho i wonder if i started learning a dance but only the chorus part should i learn the whole thing? Thank you so much for this it rlly helps!!
Don't just stretch before hard dances, do it with every choreo no matter if it's easy or not (this is prob obv). For me, it's easy to learn the choreography if you watch the dance practices, etc (this works for me, it's just a suggestion). The most easiest dance for me was probably Flower by Jisoo. Everyone is different so if you find one dance hard and others find it easy, it's completely fine!! You MUST use the mirrored dance tutorial videos or you'll basically get everything wrong. More tips: Practice dancing with other song genres not just K-pop, this helped me improve my stamina, stiffness, new dance moves, and overall control over my body. (These are mostly opinions so if you disagree don't just bash me in the comments) Make sure to have fun, it is easier to learn a choreography if you have fun with the choreography and NEVER compare yourself to idols.
The thing with me is I’ve always been a contemporary ballet dancer. I’m trying to learn Kpop dances for me and my friend’s dance-group, but I don’t have that powerful swag. It mostly looks awkward. And somehow it’s too “beautiful” for most dances (straightened legs, akward position and stufff.) We call it my grandpa-boogie-swag, because when I try to do sassy kpop dances I look like a grandpa at boogie-class. I’m trying to work it off but it isn’t working. And since I’m in a group with amazing dancers that post on the internet I wanna be on their level and not embarrass myself. Anyone got tips?
My tips: 1. watch the original dance video for about 3 to 4 times at the speed of 0.25 2. watch tutorial videos of Leia, Ellen and Brian, Lisa Rhee . 3. I Just learn 2 or 3 parts a day and I'll practice more to improve my moves 4. Watch yourself in the mirror while dancing or try recording your dance and later you can watch that video and rectify or improve your moves . I'm sorry if my English is bad because its not my first language. But I hope this helps : )
im not gonna flex or smth so dont be toxic with what i am saying, I usually memorize a choreography with almost 30mins, one time i learned a blackpink dance at 8:30 pm and finished at 9:04 pm! I am not flexing, so ya’ll don’t be toxic in me!

Savage Angels is soooo good

as someone who religiously learns kpop choreo, i would start with something on the “easier” side or perhaps a song in which you won’t feel yourself getting tired a lot. i started off with twice’s signal: relatively easy with the moves but requires jumping quite a bit! then, blackpink’s as if it’s your last: a little bit challenging for a beginner, but not too hard! last, red velvet’s red flavor: the song, in my opinion, was the hardest to learn out of the three of them, but if you want something a little bit more challenging, try it! just go at your own pace, and if you feel like a dance is too hard by just looking at it, try something you will feel is easy!
If you wanna go for a more workout kinda dance but not too hard then
Not shy -itzy
Kill this Love -blackpink
Peek a boo -red velvet
What you waiting for -somi
More and more -twice
Basically any dance that has a major arm and leg movements
For me red flavor is the easiest
Is forever young by Blackpink easy?

"Always use a mirror."
Nope, I'm out. I love learning to dance but I can't stand watching myself do it, especially bc I'm not very good at it. Lol the less time i spend looking at myself the better.
Shusueieirhsjsie I also have a hard time getting myself to use a mirror or record myself
@@SeulgisSwag I think the good part about recording yourself is that when you keep on practicing and go back to those videos months later you see how much you improved and its really motivating
If you have a tv or something then do that. Learn the dance without a mirror, then practice with a mirror to make sure you got the movements right
Dw you’ll get better! No one becomes the best dancer within 24 hours!
It takes time and patience!
As a dancer I’ve grown used to ignoring the fact that i have so many imperfections about me, so give the mirror some time and you’ll essentially start appreciating yourself, I know this seems far fetched but it’ll happen
Jejdjd i dont like usin a mirror when i dance cuz i lose confidence becuz i can see how stupid i look dndndjd

Really? when I dance in front of a mirror i look okay.. But when I'm recording and check afterwards I look weird??
sksksk honestly I learn the first few days by following along without a mirror and when I don't look so much of a bumbling fool because I don't even know the moves I practice in front of my bathroom mirror and make notes of what I need to fix before going to practice without it and I keep doing that every few days or every day

Problem: I normally practise dances in my kitchen so I won’t be able to get a mirror in there lmao.. what should I do D:
I practice in my kitchen because it doesn’t make as much noise as to not disturb my family and I’m rarely home alone. The only space in my house that has a full body mirror is my parents room and the space is small... help!
if you really have no more option i think filming yourself is the only thing you can do and imo i think correcting your dance move is more efficient when you film yourself than using a mirror because you can rewind or rewatch it anytime going trough all the details and mistakes you do and then correcting it 😊
@@addie6412 ok tysm 😌
Put your phone on a chair, open the camera and switch to the front camera. Or a window at night.
It really depends on the layout of your kitchen, but maybe you can use the reflection of the oven/microwave screen? If the room is slightly dim, it is reflective. Of course this doesn't work when its on
Lol same with me
I’ve been a kpop stan since 4 years and I have NEVER learned a kpop dance before (well, except that main step of fancy) 😭 Can you suggest me a good dance to start with?

This is my tip for looking for small details so don't attack me if im wrong (like executing them well i guess?)
I usually watch the main dancers or lead dancers fancam because they execute them more good or i just go to a tutorial usually Leia or Ellen and Brian they are so good at explaining small details and i just watched them not really following them (you know like using my muscle memory) and i would practice the dance step again and again until im satisfied
PS: im not a dancer i just dance for fun and i suck at explaining so yeah stay safe and byeeee!
Thank you hobi !!☺️
i always look at the dancer who isnt the best from the group bc they most of the time do things easier than the main dancer-
@@ch9uuya sometimes i do that too lol

but for me, I saw a huge improvement in a month. I danced like.. just 3 hrs a day for approx a month and I could see clear difference and improvement.
probably just like others here, I was also thinking that i have to dance for a whole year or two to see improvement. but.. 😄😄
and also.. dancing in the front of a mirror is so so important and helpful.
first of all, u can keep track of ur moves and see if you're doing them right or not. and second.. u can work on your expressions.
I'm not a dancer and all, just a potato who locks the door and dances inside.

I'm so dumb... one of my relatives owns a dance studio and here's me shy and lazy to talk about taking classes. But I love dancing
@@Aditi-xl8gr omg thank youuuuu I will try that next time
I learned back door and it was kinda hard I learned I

Suggestions for non dancers and beginner dancers:
*Don't do choreographies that is above your reach of skills. If you do want to do this type of choreographies, I really do suggest to learn the proper background of dancing needed for that choreography. Anyways, love y'all ✨✨❤️

Hey for the people who wanna learn ...
Here r some tips from me cuz i hav been dancing as a hobby since i entered the k fandom..(hope it helps)
1.watch the mirroed dance practice videos again and again cuz it helps u to enhance even the most precise moves.
2. Don't forget to stretch b4 u start or else u might twist some of the limb muscles while doing the strong movements
3. Start with the easiest dances and then move towards the hard ones..this will help u catch up with the change in body shifts..
These r just my opinions so no hate...
Well....hav a nice day💕💕
why dont you post yourself doing covers?
and ya thank you for the tips

There's a chanel called "LEIA", she's an AMAZING dance teacher. I already learned at least 15 kpop choreographies with her tutorials
thank you!
1) Learn all moves without mirror
2) Use mirror for details , expressions and overall polishing
This makes sure you don't get distracted by your awkward self in the initial phase of learning .
I'm crying my soul😭
hmmmmmmm I've already learned lots of kpop dances lol
I love how I've danced my whole life (never good though, I'm lazy af) and I still decided to not stretch before learning a dance two weeks ago. Well, I couldn't move for a few days bcs my thighs burned so much. Ah yes.
SOME AMAZING DANCE TEACHERS ARE SAVAGE ANGLES ( on yt ) LEIA ( on yt )
you should watch the dance practice video ( MIRRORED ) before you learn it ( i tend to watch it around 10-15 times before sleeping the night before i learn it )
My problem is that
1. I'm too shy to tell my parents that I like to dance, so I don't properly invest time to learn the complete choreo
2. I'm a big person so I easily get fatigue (even though I was a dancer for 9 years)
And when I actually learn a dance..I can't find a good camera angle to record welp👁️👄👁️
Thank you! I have been starting to take interest in dancing💜
video idea !! what if you make a video where you’ll sort of make a calendar/timeline of dances to learn? like, you’ll suggest dances that will help us learn the basics and then progess from there? idk if in making sense but yeah thats it! ne way thank you for your videos!!

Here's two channels for mirrored dance practices:
Reminisce Xiang Chua
Mirror Dance
My tips:
1. watch the original dance video for about 3 to 4 times at the speed of 0.25
2. watch tutorial videos of Leia, Ellen and Brian, Lisa Rhee .
3. I Just learn 2 or 3 parts a day and I'll practice more to improve my moves
4. Watch yourself in the mirror while dancing or try recording your dance and later you can watch that video and rectify or improve your moves .
I'm sorry if my English is bad because its not my first language.

instead of a mirror i train without anything a few times and then grab a screen recorder with a facecam or a body cam idk and see if i do the moves correctly or what i missed ect. and yeah it takes me a while to learn i just started and record it in and i keep it to myself and try to better myself
and yes i barley own mirrors
Not tryna be rude but some of lisarhee’s dances are wrong like doing wrong moves but if you doesn’t perform the dance but only for fun you can watch but if you are going to competition for Kpop dance I don’t recommend watching
