  • Last week, a firestorm erupted after reports that Wendy's was planning on testing out dynamic pricing at restaurants in the United States.
Some responded to the report with concern and anger, that dynamic pricing was another term for "surge pricing" - something that companies like uber use to alter prices based on supply and demand. Wendy's CEO Kirk Tanner later clarified that the burger company will not be implementing surge pricing. But it certainly got a lot of people talking about the practice.

Surge pricing ensures that the restaurant will now be only visited by the rich. Living on a budget I have to KNOW the price of the food long before I make an order, so with no way of maintaining a budget I will have to avoid Wendy's if I want to ensure that I will have enough money for the meal. I don't know exactly what Wendy's was thinking, but they have just excluded every paying customer that operates on a budget and that turns out to be most of the North American population.

Go ahead and do it. I’m already scarcely visiting due to ridiculous regular pricing. Surge pricing would be enough to get me off of fast food altogether.

Consumers are so dense, just vote with your dollars, that isn't real food regardless.

Best of luck with this, folks! With fast food becoming unaffordable to many, this is going to be the last nail in the coffin.

All the large people that eat this unhealthy food need to boycott if they want the prices down

That type of pricing is about the law of supply and demand..
" A shortage of hotel rooms or seats on an airplane during a specific time and events
I had no idea during a specific time of the year that there was a shortage of ingredients to make Frostys.
    This is price gouging.
    Goodbye Wendys,

I bought a sub the other day from Subway and just a basic ham sandwich 12’. The price was $16 and then they want a tip also starting at 15%. So over $18 for the sub plus the footlong is smaller by around 3”

If surge pricing is put in place, there are gonna be alot more drive thru orders that aren't paid for or picked up, and have to be thrown out as waste.

I barely purchase fast food as it is. I'm perfectly comfortable not buying it at all. Not playing the game. Consumers grab back power with your purchases. Stop caving in to convenience.

Eating is a fundamental human right. Why is Justin and Jagmeet not buying our fast food? Man cannot live on "free" birth control (aka: Pharmacare) alone.
