- Revisit to the new Tappen Zee Bridge (New York), with my Mavic pro. The old bridge is currently being disassembled while the new bridge has one side fully completed.

Can I fly my drone to get some footage of the bridge or need commercial authorization ?

Old bridge = 7- lane single span with a moveable zipper barrier. New bridge = Twin span of 8 lanes each or 16 lanes total. I do realize that (at first) they will devote some of the new lanes to things other than regular vehicular traffic once both spans are in full operation, but there will come a day when they will find it necessary to open all 16 lanes as demand increases.

It's about 20 miles north of New York City, it connects Tarrytown and Nyack, NY.

PLAIN VANILLA BRIDGE, Big improvement, But, Design is plain vanilla as the saying goes, I am personally disappointed in the DOT in awarding this contract, contracts are awarded based upon monetary issues, design as well, time constraints etc. Design criteria, it failspeople around the globe love bridges, always have, It pains me to say this, i,m broken hearted seeing the bridge this way,like a child born into the world with a serious, visually noticeable birth defect, scared for life, I love it like that child i,m describing,but I also feel for it, it will stand the test of time, seriously impaired visually, under designed astatically, Poor Thing, Structural design is there, but lacks any awe, creativity in design.
