This really should have been launch Medjay but with the new addition of his Nomad Slash, you can now cosplay as a hunter from bloodborne and its the sickest thing ever. He feels strong and fun to play now. Fun to play against? I would say so too as he doesnt have hyper armor as a crutch anymore. ive been playing him a bit since the changes. you can chain into a bash immediately after a transitional and chain his quick bash into a transitional. his fast bash from axe can now do 12 damage. i dont get why the light is only 9 damage when he can do that. quick note if you didnt know already 🙏
I played for 4 years straight until ccu attacked. Killed my whole motivation with the damage nerfs and getting rid of the ability to reliably stall or anti gank. @@juiceboxbzrk
I really love how he turned out. I'm more than happy sacrificing the HA lights for those staff transitions. I've been playing him a bit since before this patch and I am playing him a lot at the moment. Really love this change for him.

Yeah the bash damage is still a tad low, but really the only thing I could ask for on this character is hyper armor on the opening staff heavy - it’s off the lights, and they are the same speed as JJs so - would be nice and I don’t think too broken
For future reference if you light Parry in axe mode then swap to staf mode you get a higher damage heavy Plus if you want you can swap back right after the heavy with the recovery swap or the zone now

Idk if this would be op but ever since his moveset was revealed I always wished he had some kind of counter mechanic with his stance change so if ur in recov frames from attacks u could stance change and have it act like bp flip recov cancel. The skill expression would be real cool, but base stance change would prob have to be more punishable.
After zone, you do another to switch modes. It chains infinite and you can bash after it as well. A lot of combo's are possible now, so have fun trying him out!

Feature creep is a horrible way to set the future for this game, they honest to God need to either switch engines and work from a clean slate (with less cluttered code), or revise the entire core structure of the game itself (code wise). I couldn't imagine the nightmare this project is in house, stop adding more shit Ubi and fix/correct the existing shitshow this game is. Before anyone wants to interject here, building a modular code system IS the way to go with any project to allow for better workability from in house devs AND gives them the opportunity to better fine tune systems in a much more streamlined manner. I'd rather wait longer for them to address all the systems they have (or rewrite them) just so they can give us a much more streamlined set of content down the line.

If I remember correctly from playing him, you can go straight into his bashes after nomad swing without needing a light input beforehand

to me matching against medjay used to almost always be a free win lmao but now after the changes he's actually kind of scary to fight
Tip for everyone throw the heavy finisher from the same side as the zone if it hits you get big damage and so many are falling for that

Was thinking the same thing today when playing feels like Hitokiri can always beat medjay in a 1v1 match up for that very reason.
You can do a bash after weapon switch zone.
This patch really open a lot things for mejay.
Medjay was good since he came out he was never bad
you can actually do the nomad swing after bashes too, so you could do the offensive bash then zone for more damage
He does also have a chain bash on staff now

I don't know about the official rework but in testing grounds you could preform a bash after the zone when you transition into the axe stance.

Im personally fine with his bash being only 9dmg since they're incredibly unreactable and can only be punished with dodge attacks but no gb.
