- It's time to go home, and mother nature is not being to kind. We find ourselves fighting an unexpected ice storm then end with freezing temps.
Thank you for watching
Throw 2.5 gallon spray bottle with rubbing alcohol in the truck
Would help with the ice..
32k subscribers holysmokes!!wow it has been awesome watching the channel grow
Definitely amazing to see
Negative 30 and ice roads are the normal here in Fairbanks Alaska.
I want an "I'm a dork" sticker! Ice is the worst. It does make the trees pretty if you're looking at it from a cozy living room. What a way to end an otherwise wonderful trip. Welcome back to our Midwest reality. Glad you made it home safe. Opie acted as if he hadn't seen you in years. Hope he got at least one cheeseburger. Again, thank you for sharing that awesome trip. Stay safe and God bless.
Opie really missed his daddy! Can't wait to see both of you trucking again. Be safe and stay warm 🌡❄🌬
Ya hes ready to roll
I would like to get a sweatshirt in the future keep on keeping on
Hey curt. The trick to keep your windows defrosted is to keep your sun visor down it helps to trap the heat rolling by your defrost areas.
It's cold in Tennessee to the high for tomorrow is 33degree right now it is 28deg stay safe Kurt
It's funny I see people while walking and they say hi sasquatch to me when they say hi.
Wow. 🤟
A few have said it before… give bunker branding a call
Glad u made it. I hate ice or black ice. Have a good week and be safe.
Good thing you got the tires on! I know, (Southern MN previous tow business owner), but I'd rather be farther south.
I just drove across North Dakota 2 days ago. -28. With windchill of -40. Had anti gel additive in tanks but learned that if you have 1/4 full tanks additive doesn’t matter. Ha e to keep your tanks no less than 1/2 full when driving in weather like that. Truck started losing power and would go faster than 40mph. Luckily I made it to pilot and was able to fill up and add more additive
About time y'all got some winter!! It was -17 yesterday morning with a wind-chill of -28
HI THIS IS MICHAEL BEHRLE FROM ST.ANN,MO.AND I WATCH YOUR VIDEOS ALL THETIME I WOULD LIKE TOO SEE MORE OF OPEY WITH YOU HE IS VERY CUTE YOU NEED TO KEEP HIM WITH YOU ALL THE TIME
It made me a little nervous when I saw the words Tires Breaking Loose. The roads were crap here early Friday morning. You are a damn good driver Kurt. You kept the rubber side down and got home safe.
The ⭐ is so happy that you are back.
Good night from Waterloo
It's nice to hear someone say good things about WV thank u an come again😇😇
Great content as always Kurt. Someone else mentioned the spray bottle of alcohol to help melt the ice. Back when I flew the prop airplanes we had spray nozzles to spray it on the props and the windshield to melt the ice. It works pretty good. Don’t underestimate the interest in merch. You’ll have pretty strong demand. You have a very loyal fan base out here. Enjoy your time off and we’ll look forward to the next trip.
I think a logo with First Class and Opie and the bust of you on either side of First Class with Trucking with Schmidt printed underneath would be cool.
Hi Kurt, Sarah & Troy. See I told ya this vlog was going 2 b icy, cold & snowy. I am with the both of you, I would rather b at the beach. We were out & about during the icy fog. Ice sucks. We took our kiddos out 4 lunch yesterday in the snow. Only got 2.5 inches. It was & is frickin cold. Hurry up spring.🌷😉 Did not go anywhere today. Did start both vehicles & let them run 10 mins while I shoveled the little bit we got. It was lite & fluffy thank goodness. Have a blessed night & week ahead. It's going 2 b tough. We had two 3 day weekend. Now it will b a full week. 😉 God's Blessings today & always. 🙏🏼💕
I'm an owner op and I don't know how you get the time to set up the cameras, edit, and all that. But I'm glad you do.
wow the roads are nasty brotha ... super good timing on those new drives
You need a sticker of Opie in the drivers seat wearing your fuzzy winter hat.
I couldn't help but overhear the Betty White mention. Shame she passed, and don't forget that alongside all the media she was in, how she was in the Women's Voluntary Services during World War II.
Stay warm you all
Drive safe
Hey sarah ty for vidio kurt
Had 31 below zero yesterday morning and 35 below this morning in northern Minnesota drive safe
50 probably won't be enough. I'm a Midwestern owner operator. I watch your videos because you remind me of myself. No more complicated than that. My opinion that's why reality tv got popular in the first place and why people like you have subscribers on RUclips that are willing to but some merch. Something to identify with. Keep it up love your videos.
Incredible skill in driving on ice!
Look at bunker branding for merchandise
At least you are loaded driving through the ice stay safe and can’t wait for some stickers 🤟🏻
@BikerTrashDan Agreed. Park that damn thing on Ice.
You may want to contact long haul larry. I believe he bought his own equipment to print shirts. Not sure how much
I was just up around that area yesterday delivered in Shell Rock and then to FT. Dodge to pick up and delivered in Crete, NE. last night and now on my way to Texas to thaw out.
I really enjoyed your trip to the beach and back. Kurt, that Iowa weather is just to much of a good thing, y'all stay warm. God bless you all. 🙏
Opie missed his Dad!
A darn good day to have nice new sticky drive tires
Howdy Folks.
You know the trip home will take a lot longer time than usual when you let off throttle and the tires brake loose. Your speed is the same, but rpm drops to idle. Zero friction is bad. Been there, done that..
Glad you made it home big guy. Happy New Year to all the Schmidt family and to Jax and Opie.
We battled the same conditions on New Years Eve headed down to Milan, Missouri. We feel your pain and are glad you all made it home safely!!
I would buy an 'Opie is my favorite copilot" sticker.
I still think his other dog should join him for a road trip just to be fair it's always Opie Opie Opie
He's a good dog but I want to see how the other dog would ride in the truck
@@lornperkins4270 He said Opie suffers from separation anxiety disorder, and gets into trouble at home.
@@s.a.stewart2743 yeah I heard that part....I probably would too if I was that spoiled and got to ride with daddy all the time and eat McDonald's...he's spoiled he doesn't know what to do with himself at home especially when daddy is gone..I bet he spazed out when he found out that he wasn't going
Try getting in contact with Justin, Just Trucking is his u tube channel. He has a merchandise provider and would be more than happy to help you out.🇨🇱
Happy New Year...
Do you ever come to Wisconsin? If you do my hubby and I would love to take you out for dinner. My husband is a x truck driver. He spent years on the road as you do. Myself and the boys spent many a days alone but when he came back we made each moment count, You take care and God Bless and give a huge hug to Opie for us
Please be careful and have a safe trip back home.
Pucker factor of 9.95 driving in that crap.
Stay toasty🔥🔥🇨🇱
Amazing as always thanks. Happy new year. God bless you all
I own a 379 Peterbilt I have bought several headlights. The ones I really like the best are JW Speaker brand. They're a bright white LED headlight with built-in heaters that work really well. I've had these for 2 years.
QT truck stop northeast 14th Has 70/30 blend. And no biofuel. Des Moines Iowa.
Good to see your son is a Chiefs fan. Makes my heart proud.
I remember running up to Maine and out west in the winter. The Pete I drove would ice up the grill and make the Cat run hot. Be careful out there Kurt. I may soon be back on the road.
Been there, done that, don't miss it at all.
And a nother winter storm coming across later this week it looks like Kansas, Missouri, Illinois and Kentucky.
Is Opie still looking for that cat you said was under the hood🤔😁? Have a great new year Herr Schmidt, family and all the youtube fans. Y'all stay safe and warm out there,
Yes, Kurt. This morning was very cold.
Winter ain't no joke for many of us. Those new drives paid for themselves on the way home. Wishing you all a healthy and prosperous 2022.
I love my squirrels you love your squirrel squirrel doesn't get it for me you are fuzzy bear everyday all day
Glad y’all made it home safe stay safe be careful that was a great trip You took us on
Always a good feeling when you can make it home in not so good weather.
Happy, Healthy, New Year, Stay Safe
❄& Ice,Safe Travels .
Have a safe and prosperous new year Kurt and family
I bet u are glad u put those new tires on, Ha
Be safe happy new year and stay warm
Stay safe, the weather is playing the devil out there.
You are the man ! It's unreal how those driving conditions translate thru the camera. Glad you made it home safe and Happy New Year.
I would love a mug with the truck on there!!
Here in the Washington, we had a week of FRIGED cold. Daytime temp was barely 13 degrees. with snow , which not to many people knew how to drive in. So you just stay home where its warm and dry. For the Seattle,/ Tacoma area, that is not common to be that cold. Ice was another problem. especially on interstate 5. State patrol counted between a 30 mile stretch over 60 spinouts in one morning. You did great getting up that icy hill. That could have easily turned into an e-ride. (Disneyland ride scale). First class needs a bubble bath in a warm truck wash. So glad you made it home and in one piece. Find a nice warm shower and warm up AND you didn't have to chain-up.!! Either. THAT is a whole different ballgame. Happy New Year.
Gettin in trub with an ol k-dub
I love your videos. I get my trucking needs met by watching. I keep telling my wife I want a truck lol. Probably never happen but at least I have you. And I really love seeing your pups happy to see you. Glad you made it home safe.
safe travels. my friend
About that Ice Storm... In '73 my little brother was born in during a bad ice storm in Rantoul, IL (Chanute AFB). The Security Police advised my dad not to drive the 15 miles south to Champaign but he laughed at them at drove there anyway taking 2 hours, ask while mom is trying not to give birth to their 8th child. They made it. I think he said there was over 1.5" of I've as he went down and over 2' of snow on the way back. Oh what fun. This 13 year olds spent a lot of time shoveling driveways. Not just ours, but neighbors, as well.
Hi there everybody, Hate ice. Don't get it as much here in NW Colorado, but 28 degrees and wet snow makes for alot slush that seems to drag everyone off the 2 lane 41 mile driveway between Rifle and home. Today was 2" of snowpacked with sun shining and the best glaze. Whew, rather that than you all in the midwest with that kind of ice. So we ring in the New Year and here we go again. Stay aware out there (wasn't meant to rhyme) and i suppose its ok to bring Opie along.. HA SEE YA
I really hate winter it’s been -50 with the wind can’t wait for spring great video 🤙
Go through bunker branding
I miss Betty already,
With black ice, sometimes the best thing you can do is pull over until it gets warmer or a salt truck comes by.
Happy New Year greetings from the Ohio Porters. 🇺🇸 Brrrrrr! Trucking in the winter can be slow and hard…and DIRTY! but you had plenty of company on this trip!🤩 Now that’s the way to truck! 🧐 Do you need an little propane tank to use when something ices over so you can thaw it out?! LOL! 🧐 It sure gives you a weird feeling when your big truck loses traction…Gulp! 😳 Glad you made it home! I loved the greetings you got from the dogs….were they the first ones to greet you? Bow wow, Dad’s home!!! 🐕🥰 Keep it safe my friend! 😎🥰✌️
yuk !to all that snow
I really admire your mental toughness in situations like that. Thanks for all you do to provide necessities for the rest of us.
Nice to have the new drives on in this slick weather.
to warm here wish I had some of that cold must be refreshing!
what ever you do on the shirts and other clothing PLEASE get them in men size like 4 and 5 xl, Most every truck videos i watch that have stuff to sell the larges size they have is 3xl , thanks and really like your videos thanks for all you do.
Will do
Glad y'all made it back home safely. God bless you and your family and again Happy New Years
Trux Led heated headlights are the best 👌
I see that you lost your new vest to the Warden.
Squirrel's have alot of hair i guess you be warm.
You were about 8 miles away from my house when you went north of Colfax and thru Mingo. When your not pushing a time factor let me know and stop for a break here! Sorry you got into the ice...was a bear as you well found out. Glad everything went safely !! Next time bring that beach weather back with yo
Glad that you folks made it home safe. Ice is no joke!!
My wife agrees with Sarah its time to be in the 80s again and at the beach.
You should consider changing your clearance lights to led, I used change a bulb every time it rains. Ever since I changed them to led no more burnt bulb issues
Amazing how cold and dreary it looks in the winter.I try to look at the beauty of the landscape. Be very very careful on that ice. Great family !!! Stay well Frankie L.I. P.S. shout out to John& Diane!!!
Happy New Year TWS family, Here's to more truck camping and less working in 22. Thank you for the great content and sharing your adventures.
We will see
Just FYI. I purchased a T-shirt from Dirt Perfect about 2 months ago. It's been washed maybe a couple dozen times and still looks good. The shirt does feel thin, but is holding up very well. His price was $17.00. Might want to contact Mike Simons just to see how he handles his merchandise. Have a good one.
Fun fun in mn to.
Can you please make a video on you just talking on the CB radio.
It would be hard to do, barely use it much
@@truckingwithschmidt7120 yea a lot of people don’t talk on the CB much, best time to capture it is when there is a big accident up ahead or traffic slow down that’s when everyone gets on the CB to ramble. Those videos are funny.
💖💖💖💖💖stay warm and safe guys, watch out for all that black ice there's alot of it out I hated driving in that stuff
