Your channel is always the first place I go when I want to know about a certain deck!!!! Thank you for your intelligent and well researched perspective!
+Brianna Larson Aw, thank you so much Brianna!! I love doing deck reviews because those are what I love to watch and what made me decide to get on RUclips!! ~Kelly
15:11 I feel like the fortune card does show intent but also an element of serendipity. Which goes along with the idea, I think of "fate" and/or "things outside of human control" which is included in the wheel of fortune card. There is intent, which you send into the universe but then... what happens after you do your part is not in your control.
When I look at these cards individually, I feel like they are beautiful. I feel like I know all these characters. But I feel like... I'll never be able to "read" these. Then I lay them out and the messages just POUR out. It's just crazy. This deck is one where, it's just more than the sum of its parts. Looking through it and reading with it are just two different experiences. I love this deck. I got it second hand, with the book and edged in purple.
I told you I was having a hard time finding a fairy tarot & you recommended this...I told u I didn’t like seeing some dude staring at me in a lot of decks... But this is gorgeous! I love it. I am watching this video with my deck. I look at the card get what I get first then like to hear how i missed so much when I listen to your explanations. Love love love. Made me love watching Cursed & The Witcher.
I bought this deck recently and when you spoke of tapping into the internal I totally felt that. The book is beautiful and makes you look inward even with the pentacles which sometimes is about the external (material). Thank you for the review.
Thanks again Kelly! Love all the compassion and depth of all the faces. I don't know why I never purchased it because it's a magnificent work of art. Now I need to decide; and this decision is so very difficult, do I go with this or Dreams of Gaia. A treat for myself .... I think we all need a new "special" deck as 2020 comes to an end. Happy Christmas to you, Kelly and nothing but the very Best for 2021. p.s. it's a wonderful pleasure always listening to your special videos Kelly I can't say thank you enough for the sunshine you bring to us all in this community. xoxoxo
I have this deck! beautiful, gorgeous! yes it is a very powerful, I find that it speaks loudly(if I can put it that way). thank you for this review, you've helped me understand my cards in another point of view
The shadowdance card really gives a sense of temptation and losing your focus... it's kind of like that dance in the labrynth when Gareth is trying trying distract her and make her forget everything.
Lori Edwards I do, Lori, here are the places you can find me online: My shop: www.etsy.com/shop/thetruthinstory My blog: www.thetruthinstory.com Twitter: twitter.com/thetruthinstory Facebook: facebook.com/thetruthinstory
I don't like people in my Tarot decks - I find it superficial and the characters are usually overly attractive (some are here) but the man in the Three of Pentacles really felt like he was looking at me. It's intense.
I would love to have you revisit this deck. I’ve been trying to wrap my head around several cards. Some just aren’t very distinct from each other and some I can’t reconcile with RWS. Death, 2, 7 and 9 of wands, 10 Cups, 5and 7 of Swords, 3 Pentacles (how is it different from the 8?) it’s a beautiful deck but the book doesn’t offer much to help with these questions! I’d love to hear your thoughts. Thanks, Kelly.
i love this deck. i ordered it the other day and definitely agree with you about the magician card. lol. overall though, beautiful deck and such a powerful connection. amazing review! :)
Hi lovely xx I've been thinking about this deck recently so came to have a look. You talk about it being very Internal. Maybe that's the "Hidden Realm" that the deck is named after. The realm inside of ourselves (?) xxx
I have recently purchased this deck direct from artist and the stock is very thin. I have had many people tell theirs is lovely stock. I am not one to nit pick about stock but its the thinnest of my decks, including shadowscapes.
I bought this deck as a partner to my Shape shifter tarot. It's funny to me that the decks that I gravitate toward are less traditional/less RWS. I love that this deck resonates so powerfully - great readings every time. When you do readings with a specialized deck like this, particularly where they change the meanings of some cards (i.e. ShadowDance vs the Devil... Sort of removing some of the traditional meanings of the Devil), how do you easily shift gears into doing a reading with the less-traditional deck?
On the surface looks similar to the up close style of the Touchstone. I may have to add this to my wish list. Many cards that I would have difficulty connecting with, not sure. It's interesting. What I do like is that it's different from traditional RWS and allows your intuition to switch on.
+Diva Geneva I see what you mean, the way the people are often shown close up, I thought I might have a problem with that in this deck but the artist is so amazing at facial expression and body position that it's a lovely and strong experience :)
I love my tarot but I struggle to read the cards deeply without a guidebook. I just wanted to say I love how you described the cards so vividly from your own perspective. I had just popped on to see what the cards looked like and got swept up in listening to your descriptions. Do you have any tips for getting to that level of intuitive reading?
Pull the card. Don’t look at it. Have it facing down. What do you feel. Close your eyes. Do you see anything. Hear a song? Feel an emotion? Have a memory pop into your mind? Sit with that. Then pull the card around. What is the first thing you see on the card. Just pull one card a day and see how that fits into your day. That is how you will slowly build your intuition onto using cards
The image on the Magician is what put me off the light seers tarot. It's very similar to some of those characters, they come across kind of sleazy to me.
Neither the Wildwood Tarot or this one follow traditional meanings completely, there are a number of ways in which they go off with their own system, though perhaps the Wildwood even more so for this one. If I was to choose one of these for a beginner I would choose Tarot of the Hidden Realm :)
Hi Kelly! Thanks so much for your responses in both live and here in the comments! Just ordered my Legacy of the Divine which I'm excited to practice with as it's like RWS with more captivating imagery and, as you mentioned, very astrologically inclined. Do you think this one would be good to use in conjunction with LOTD? Much like you I love the power in the images and I do wanna practice both within and outside the RWS system. Thanks!
Hello Joe! I LOVE Tarot of the Hidden Realm because it does move outside of the RWS system and it is one of my top top decks so I always recommend it lol, but I think that will give you a nice balance of RWS and less traditional but oh so powerful!!
***** That's what I'm thinking. While I have a familiar Judeo-Christian background (emphasis on the latter--I liked your use in another video of "comfortable Catholic") a lot of my friends who share my enthusiasm for Tarot and divination systems have much less of of it, so I think the less intensely Christian images for the Hierophant, Judgment etc in this deck would appeal to them as well as I practice reading with them. I do say I miss the astrological connections of RWS but that would be the point of combining it with LOTD, which I've seen other readers do--an RWS reading and then use another system for clarification or just underlying energies--much like your Check-in reading I saw in your shop which I'm strongly considering getting from you :)
I think it is a great neutral of religious connotations decks, that's why my first deck was the Llewellyn Tarot based on Welsh mythologies as it stepped back from those connotations. You COULD always write the astrological symbols by the titles ;) I have done that on some decks but usually they are my study decks. But as you know, I'm all for combining decks to get those different layers if need be!!!
I was interested in looking into the Faerie Lives deck you mentioned at the beginning of the video. I can't seem to find it anywhere though. Is it still in print?
Hm, I think all decks are good at shadow work for the most part or that everyone has a different need in shadow work, but as this is exploring hidden realms I can certainly see it doing well!

Omg the book. Yes the book is everything
I just ordered this deck. Can't wait to get it! Thanks for the great and extensive review.
+thejuliajune This is definitely one of my top decks!! Congrats! :D

My fav deck, never fails to be spot on for me.
I agree, it never fails me either!!
I always find it suprisingly easy to read with.
The shadowdance card really gives a sense of temptation and losing your focus... it's kind of like that dance in the labrynth when Gareth is trying trying distract her and make her forget everything.
The child on the star (and a few others) reminds me of my little guy. (And the 10 of wands and page of wands)
I love the way you explain the cards and I love long videos:)
Lori Edwards Then you have come to the right channel ;) lol, I struggle to be concise but I am at heart a rambler.

Thank you for this detailed review! On my wish list!!
+Crimson Monarck One of my very top decks, you are very welcome!!
thanks for this review I got this one and the druidcraft an I'm in love with both =D

I 100% agree, I love this deck and it is still in my top 10 decks!

in the eight of wands the woman reminds me and looks like keira knightly

I rather like it

12:08 I did not see the second person in this card the whole first time I looked at it!
The image on the Magician is what put me off the light seers tarot. It's very similar to some of those characters, they come across kind of sleazy to me.
Would you say this deck is suitable for an absolute beginner in tarot? I'm stuck between this one and the wildwood tarot.
Neither the Wildwood Tarot or this one follow traditional meanings completely, there are a number of ways in which they go off with their own system, though perhaps the Wildwood even more so for this one. If I was to choose one of these for a beginner I would choose Tarot of the Hidden Realm :)
Wonder which one you got and how your tarot journey is going so far!

Finally pulled the trigger on this...want to activate my intuition outside of RWS.
I was interested in looking into the Faerie Lives deck you mentioned at the beginning of the video. I can't seem to find it anywhere though. Is it still in print?
Fairy Lights Tarot
Where did you get this deck
Amazon :)
Do you still enjoy working with this deck?
Most definitely yes!
I cannot find that book anywhere. I'm so heartbroken
Amazon?
Is this deck good for shadow work?
Hm, I think all decks are good at shadow work for the most part or that everyone has a different need in shadow work, but as this is exploring hidden realms I can certainly see it doing well!
Have you trimmed them?
No :) They come like this! Perfection out of the box ;)
***** Very beautiful deck, but the concept of fairies is a turn off to me.
absolut do not like this deck ☹☹☹☹☹
Awe, why not?
