This is one of the most memorable songs in the US. It was made during the Civil War to commemorate John Brown and it transformed into the song of the Union Army, which defeated the Confederate States in the US Civil War.
@@LordBaldur Lol, yes all that is true. I don't know if I could consider myself a patriot still if I didn't know that. I think you thought that I hadn't heard the battle hymn of the republic before! Me too. Here in Europe it's always associated with soccer. Btw there are lots of versions of this song. One is the American patriotic chant, another one is the anthem of Man United, Leeds Utd and Tottenham Hotspur but there are also the Japanese anti-school song, the religious chants, John Brown's Body and so on.

How The Heck did I not know about this before? This is beautiful!
How embarrassing that would be! A wonderful and epic cover by SMB? THAT is what I was sad to have missed.
own a musket for home defense just like how the founding fathers intended.
Personally I’d rather have an AR 15 than a musket, I’d rather have a handgun than an AR 15, and i might rather have a shotgun than either, but the idea is right ;)
@@karebear4485 shotgun for when they get close, ar/handgun for range.

...he was just a rookie trooper and he surely shook with pride...
When the union's inspiration through the workers' blood shall run,
There can be no power greater anywhere beneath the sun;
Yet what force on earth is weaker than the feeble strength of one,
But the union makes us strong.
Solidarity forever,
Solidarity forever,
Solidarity forever,
For the union makes us strong!
Dying while playing this song would be a helluva way to die, you certainly wouldn't be playing no more.
For years I thought this was the American anthem. Until I was about 11 and heard the actual anthem on TV.
Just saying, it's better than your current one.
Both are great either way
I think a lot of people agree.
Atheist here.
Should definitely be the anthem.
It's a great song but it wouldn't make sense as a national anthem.
Solidarity forever
for the union makes us strong
Hey sheet music boss my birthday is tomorrow and I would really love to hear Rosalinas observatory please

The first version of this song I heard was the Manchester United chant

Love me a bit of John Brown's Body. A true American hero :)
Niet, John Brown was a murderer. Slavery was a horrid evil, but what he did was every bit as bad and honestly worse.
Karol Jones oh no some slavers and racists got what was coming to them. Don’t disrespect the hero. John browns only sin was getting caught.
@@karoljones7455 There will be no sympathy for those who support slavery.
The Chair is against the Wall, the Chair is against the Wall. John has a long Mustache, John has a long Mustache. That was cool to hear in the 1984 version of Red Dawn, the patriotism just felt stronger in the original as well, the remake has some cool things, but the Cold War Era one is definitely the best. Tell me Jed, what's the difference between us and them, because, we live here!!!
Happy Birthday America! From The UK. 🇺🇸🇬🇧 (A bit late but better late than never)
