This has shown me that I need to play slower and more timing based levels, so thanks aeon :)

8:11 made kind of made me realise I am doing levels too hard for me. I'm trying to beat Duelo Maestro as my second insane demon (Supersonic being my first) and as a brand new hardest. I started it in mid september and at first, everything was going fine, like I got 27% in 3 days which was a huge achievement for me, considering the fact that I always taught this level was almost impossible and that I was not even able to get past 30% in practise mode... So yeah everything was going great and I started to get really great progress around 50% and I was really happy and motivated and I was thinking about beating it within two months (also, I got 53% around early October). But then something happend, I got a 26% fluke from 53% straight to 79% on October 19 (I have a video on my channel for those curious) and yeah I was thinking that I was totally gonna beat it soon, like in a week or so, but then, time went on and on, deaths past 70% accumulated especially at 73%. At this point, already around one month and a half had pass, I think so, but considering that it took me two months to beat Supersonic I was still motivated but a bit less than before. At one point, I was getting to 70%+ about once or twice a day, which is very far for me, but none of these attemps were the lucky one. And as of right now (December 9), I have approximately 40 000 attemps (practise mode included) and still no new progress after more than a month. I thought I would have been done with it around October or ealry November, but here we are, in December without any form of 'real' progress. I'm playing this level around one and a half hour a day maybe more maybe less, I got 40% to 100% around 4 times. Also Duelo Maestro is not only a level I really like but it is soooooo long, it is by FAR the longest level I attempted beating (and hopefully, one day, beat!). All of this to say that I don't know what to do, i'm probably gonna take a break during Christmas and see how it goes later. If anyone has some recommendations, like should I drop it? and really don't want to because I know I can be it but..., this is the first time something like this happens to me and, like I said, I don't really know what to do about it. At 9:31 and throughout the video,u talk about how you like to beat many different types of levels. When you put it that way,it definitely seems obvious that it would be fun,but I don’t think it’s as appealing to other people as you may think. I personally find it much more enjoyable to beat really difficult levels and try to get runs on levels that are way out of my skill range (like Tartarus) rather than beating multiple insane demons because it just doesn’t really interests me and it can kinda feel pointless (in terms of improving my skill). Obviously not everyone operates the same way that I do,and I certainly wouldn’t recommend it as doing big jumps require a lot of patience and a special desire to push yourself to the limit,so yeah I don’t really know how many other people think the same way that I do. Either way, your videos are always a good watch and this one was no exception. :)
I totally agree with u man. Just wanted to say I’m currently jumping from forsaken neon to red world rebirth (a top 30) all on mobile. It sucks, insane demons are still quite difficult, but I prefer doing it like that so that after I make the jump, I can improve much more. I do agree with him to some extent, which is why I dropped rwr for a period of time when I accepted that I’m not good enough to beat it within the time limit of my satisfaction, but I keep falling back on it. Again, personal preference.
Honestly I can relate to you. I'm currently attempting to do Nine Circles with my hardest as Deadlocked. I've always just liked Nine Circles, and I was playing it even before I got my first demon, though just for fun. Now I think I might actually be able to do it, and I am definitely the type to stick to levels I really like, especially if they're way out of my skill level. The thing is, wave is one of my worst gamemodes, but ironically, two of the levels I was the most dedicated on, Deadlocked and Nine Circles, are wave carried lol.
Hi Aeon, a few months back I suggested the idea of a reverse roulette, where instead of doing it normally you do 99-100 on the first level, then 98-100, and so on. It seemed like you liked the idea but couldn't find time to try it out. Well now, unless you have videos lined up, I think this December is the perfect time to finally give it a go. If you agree, I guess I'll see a video on it, if not, that's totally fine. Bye, I'm Tau, and this was a comment.
I would say this would be a very good video for anyone that is new to the game or for the ppl that are currently making their halfway progress with the game (grinding demons and such). Ofc every game just requires practice, and as they say, "the practice is the key"
Omg the skill things are the best advice ive heard, cuz i have been stuck on just fast synced gp which is how i could beat acu but not like cata, thanks aeon you are the best
Good advice! I'm trying to force myself into beating a hard demon, but I keep getting stuck at early parts of the level. I'm just going to enjoy the game for a while, maybe doing some more medium demons before I commit to something above my skill set.
Thanks for the tips :) Ive really been strugling with nine circles because I took a pretty big skill jump from deadlocked, my first demon to nine circles, which I have 87% on. My motivation is really lacking but now I know that I have to beat easier stuff to fully finish it off.
@@freeeggs3811 I jumped from deadlocked to jawbreaker :D Strangly I found it way easier than NC due to the pre and post drop being incredibly annoying. It’s nice to see fellow players taking skill jumps similar to me.
really good tips, ive noticed a lot of people sticking to one gamemode, sinking in too much time into a big jump to get better, or just straight up not enjoying the game and ultimately not really advance as players personally i just play for fun rather than to improve and as a result have realized that completions are way different from just runs, being more stressful and less fun but more notable and rewarding so i’d figure the optimal playstyle would be to beat levels you can deal with relatively quickly but feel free to do random runs on hard but fun stuff
Dude you are litteraly here at the right time for me, basically i wanted to start a new gd account again because my old one was litteraly fucked and had all bad levels, and noclipped demons from 3 years ago, and i wanna make a real clean one, and improve at the game. SO i watched npesta's guide and i'm doing it rn, and then i search for video for improving and i see that you just uploaded this one. THANKS that's gonna help a lot, btw the hoodie is fire
Thanks man! I was honestly in a really bad state for the last 2 weeks and this video really helped me pay attention to the things that actually matter. Hoepfully I will become better soon.
Watching this is making me realize why I had such a bad experience beating cataclysm. I was so stubborn on beating cata for my 100th demon and first extreme that even after not making progress I still stuck with it for like months and didn’t play any other levels. My skill set is fast paced gameplay so I really struggled with the first wave and the ship part at 63. I even stopped playing gd for a couple months cause I got tired of grinding the same level over and over again.
Tbh I've been trying to beat Dark Odyssey for my 200th demon (currently having 199 demons) and for my 2nd extreme for the past few weeks, I chose that level because I want to get better at nerve control/long levels and I also thought that it's fun I'm more than 3k attempts in since it's genuinely a struggle for me to even get to 35, and it's even more of a struggle to get past the first dual Around 3 weeks ago, for a week I actually spent 3 hours every day just to grind DO, I did get to 78 (the 2nd dual), but after that, it's been nothing but deaths at 15-30% 35-45% and 52-67%. Now I'm taking a break from the game currently since I have a lot of other things to do plus the fact that I'm just feeling demotivated at the game Overgrinding CAN lead you to think that the level you're trying to beat is legit wasting your time so I feel like it's best to take a break from time to time, since in my opinion your muscle memory holds up really well and when you come back to the level and trying to beat it, maybe you'd get lucky with it the next time you come back to the level you're trying to complete
This is really inspiring to me, after watching this I realized that my top 5 is all based on things I’m good at, except epsilon ig. But i realize I really need to improve my ship and endurance mainly since those are my big weaknesses I would say. I’m good enough at wave to not just go for wave levels, even though I definitely could. So since I want to make this change, I wanted you ask aeon, or anyone for that matter, if there are any ship-based levels I could do. My skillset is around high legacy-low extended list :)
1. It's a bonus if you're a creator, as it allows you to also experiment a lot more with the game mechanics. (it's one reason why I've gotten a bit better with with SOME gamemodes) 2. I don't like Nine Circles levels, not satisfying to beat them. 3. I've been patient with most things, even when I've jumped difficulties from time to time. (I have yet to beat Deception Dive, despite having 80%) 4. I fully agree there at 10:35, it's why I say I suck at the game, even if others say I don't. As a player myself, I am capable of beating harder levels like Deception Dive and Bloodbath, but I often can't be bothered (I usually grind Bloodbath if I get bored of other things in the game. lol)
Patience and realism can be a pain in the butt to do for a perfectionist autistic like me, especially if my brain did the same input instruction and if I am comparing expectations or experiences to other levels of the same difficulty, it ends up being quirky and the muscles suddenly act jumpy or unresponsive, hence a different result for some reason. I tend to be a forceful person in making the impossible (Not Insane and Extreme Demon impossible) to be, well, possible, the correct outcome from the imagination. I wanted to be fun at the same time, even though it sounds paradoxical like an android (wishing to be one) would say. (However, I genuinely have fun with the editor.)
the diversify thing is something that I've been building and still doing it since late 2019 because ik I'm not that good at some game mode and it's finally paid off. as for the patience, I'm quite inconsistent with my own patience. because sometimes I rely on other's progress on a level and got burned out if I can't keep up with it, and that lead to unmotivated phase. anyway great video
I beat my hardest yesterday which was Futuristic Road, I brute forced it for 2 days and beat it in about 2.4k attempts, I don't know if this means I was ready to beat something harder and I'm not pushing myself enough or I just tried really hard, I consider this level to be different from my skillset, which is old levels (1.3-1.6) with memory so IDK, congrats on 100k btw
I beat Deadlocked before clutterfunk and As my third demon (after the nightmare und lightning road) when i played 6 month in 11 thousands attemps and 2 month but i habe a lot of fun with it and i think it is worth to pump thousands of attemps in a level that you really love
This video motivated me to beat Crimson Clutter as my hardest before crimson clutter I was so bad at wave this video really helped me improve thanks :)
Aeon…. txs a lot dude… I think that the only thing im not used to do is practice the mechanics even though I know some of them and be patience with myself not with the level…. because when I see that I spent much more attempts that I would like to spent…. I give up…. for example that happened on my two firsts extreme demons (glide 40% something in 3000 att and reverence 50% something in 5000 att) and now im trying to beat Thanataphobia wich i’ve got 20% in 2000 (most of the att r from practice) so yea…. but thanks for the help man, i’ll practice my mechanics and timings i think it will be important because thanataphobia has some pretty ruff timings and i think this might help… and again aeon…. txs and congrats on the 100k subs
hey Aeon, so... basically, I am on 60hz mobile so I'm really struggling with easy levels because I don't have enough time to react and the way I do it is basically, just beating (on safe mode) on like 0.2x speed and then slightly increasing until you reach 1.0x and turn the safe mode off. While it can be nerves-wracking, I am using this strategy to go for harder levels like Death Corridor Old or Devil Vortex (also I use layout mode on Devil Vortex because its making a lot of lag and while its easier to see, the gameplay isn't changed and if I get really close to 1.0x)
I was stuck in a trap of not doing hard demon or above difficulty until I decided to do windy landscape and that has motivated me to always try harder levels.
8:11 i felt like this made since because i was doing plasma pulse by Giron as my first insane demon not knowing at the moment my hardest is nine circles by Zobros and the level kept getting me super frustrated so im gonna take that advice and do something not too hard and work my way to Plasma pulse Thx for the advice Aeon >3
The funny thing is, I find that I like Nine Circles levels, and also a lot of levels I like such as Deadlocked are centered around wave, which happens to be one of my worst gamemodes. (I think I'm more of a cube and also slow timing person.) I also have this tendency to enjoy playing levels that are way out of my skill range more than levels I know I can beat.
I beat my first insane demon that I spent multiple months on. I didn’t play any other levels and I only beat it just so o could beat it. It wasn’t any fun at all. Now that I beat it I feel satisfied but I started playing Acropolis and I’m having the most fun ever with gd. Problem is I don’t have time at all to play gd
With aeon talking about how sticking to one skillset isnt that good, but should still be a great achievement, there is also the fact that you might thingk you can do other hard demons (i.e if you beat nine circles then try to do future funk, then you wont be able to beat it)
4:00 idk why but im equally good at all gamemodes (almost) im slighter worse at spider compared to other stuff but other than that I have the same skill level for all gamemodes
Very good tutorial. I have a question about the (in your case) 50% in a week thing. Does it apply to runs from 0 or also to runs with start pos? (I have 32-82 on Forbidden Isle but only 20% from 0 because I haven't played much from 0)
good advice :) i'm going for windy landscape as my new hardest as a jump from magma bound because ship is basically my worst gamemode (especially mini) so it is objectively harder than mb for me. then I wanna do the apocalyptic trilogy, leyak, acu and then go for sakupen hell to improve my wave skill (wave is also one of my worst gamemodes)
Cool advice although when it comes to jumps, I’m more of the opinion that if you like a level enough and you know you can beat it within reason, then it shouldn’t matter how long it takes.
I have incredibly slow reflexes! Lower than the average person my age on human benchmark. Its all about practice. Just be patient with practice mode :)
I fluked acu (my first extreme) from 52 and I knew that wouldn’t happen again when playing cataclysm as my 2nd extreme. So I mentally prepared myself for the next 13,000 attempts it took me to beat it. Now I’m trying to beat TUP (have 46% but zobros’s part and 75-100 are rly hard) but also going through the easy GDDP levels so I don’t get bored. Ironically enough, I skipped an entire tier on the GDDP without even realizing it. Apparently Acu is a LOT harder than 8o lmao
I definitely fell victim to the wave one-trick at one point. I was doing a lot of NC levels and was great at the wave, but I was mediocre at everything else Now I'm good at everything but ship, and even then it's mostly due to the fact that I'm a 60 hz player
What levels helped you the most? I just currently beat windy landscape and poltergeist after taking a 5 year break from the game… pretty free for insane demons but hard lol
im not very motivated to try to beat future funk although i have like 50% on it ( my hardest is "Ye its a demon" by zoroa) i feel comfortable with the level on average i get 70-100 attempts in practice its not hard im just not very motivated
biggest tip for beating levels fast is runs to 100 do a few quick practice runs, then do ~90 - 100, ~80 - 100.. all the way down to ~20 - 100 and make sure you get to 100 on every run, dont die to 97 and go to the next one
The diversity tip is something I have really struggled with, I always knew I was best at timings, good at ship, and bad at wave, but when I practiced translucent I realized how much my skill was based around consistency and not raw skill. The reason for this is I would always play longer levels that were timing and ship based. What I’m doing to try to fix this is some short levels. I don’t what to do for wave since I hate nine circles levels not because they are too hard because the gamplay sucks
Since people asked, here are the levels I beat:

Good advice! I'm trying to force myself into beating a hard demon, but I keep getting stuck at early parts of the level. I'm just going to enjoy the game for a while, maybe doing some more medium demons before I commit to something above my skill set.
I needed this, cuz right now im trying to jump from jawbreaker to poltergeist and i have no clue what to do.
Thanks for the tips :) Ive really been strugling with nine circles because I took a pretty big skill jump from deadlocked, my first demon to nine circles, which I have 87% on. My motivation is really lacking but now I know that I have to beat easier stuff to fully finish it off.
good luck!
@@ussuriii thanks bro :) really appriciate it :)
@@Zephy_Rr I am jumping from toe2 to nine circles
@@freeeggs3811 I jumped from deadlocked to jawbreaker :D Strangly I found it way easier than NC due to the pre and post drop being incredibly annoying. It’s nice to see fellow players taking skill jumps similar to me.
really good tips, ive noticed a lot of people sticking to one gamemode, sinking in too much time into a big jump to get better, or just straight up not enjoying the game and ultimately not really advance as players
personally i just play for fun rather than to improve and as a result have realized that completions are way different from just runs, being more stressful and less fun but more notable and rewarding so i’d figure the optimal playstyle would be to beat levels you can deal with relatively quickly but feel free to do random runs on hard but fun stuff
"not everyone can be a spaceuk"
they can if they have megahack
Dude you are litteraly here at the right time for me,
basically i wanted to start a new gd account again because my old one was litteraly fucked and had all bad levels, and noclipped demons from 3 years ago, and i wanna make a real clean one, and improve at the game. SO i watched npesta's guide and i'm doing it rn, and then i search for video for improving and i see that you just uploaded this one.
THANKS that's gonna help a lot, btw the hoodie is fire
This helped a bunch. Took a break after getting nowhere in Future Funk and beat Toxic Sewers (my new hardest) and Dark Hell. Thanks for this 🙏
I beat my first insane demon just coming back to the game. I hope to use this to improve my skill. Thanks!
Thanks for this.
This helped me so much and now I have bet 4 demon levels, thanks.

Space’s brain is basically a computer built for GD I have no clue how Wasureta can be someone’s 4th demon like wtf
well i know how
It is =]
Tbh I've been trying to beat Dark Odyssey for my 200th demon (currently having 199 demons) and for my 2nd extreme for the past few weeks, I chose that level because I want to get better at nerve control/long levels and I also thought that it's fun
I'm more than 3k attempts in since it's genuinely a struggle for me to even get to 35, and it's even more of a struggle to get past the first dual
Around 3 weeks ago, for a week I actually spent 3 hours every day just to grind DO, I did get to 78 (the 2nd dual), but after that, it's been nothing but deaths at 15-30% 35-45% and 52-67%.
Now I'm taking a break from the game currently since I have a lot of other things to do plus the fact that I'm just feeling demotivated at the game
Overgrinding CAN lead you to think that the level you're trying to beat is legit wasting your time so I feel like it's best to take a break from time to time, since in my opinion your muscle memory holds up really well and when you come back to the level and trying to beat it, maybe you'd get lucky with it the next time you come back to the level you're trying to complete
Yeah same, grinded Dark Odyssey for a few days. Currently taking a break from it after dying at 89%, it just feels so boring and unfun to play.
this perfectly sums up my experience with Acu. taking breaks is the most important thing you can do when grinding a new hardest.
Me with over 200k attempts on Ocular Miracle jumping to bloodlust:
Intresting
GD players on their way to RUclips videos mentioning SpaceUK to comment "This did not age well" and milk it for likes:
This is really inspiring to me, after watching this I realized that my top 5 is all based on things I’m good at, except epsilon ig. But i realize I really need to improve my ship and endurance mainly since those are my big weaknesses I would say. I’m good enough at wave to not just go for wave levels, even though I definitely could. So since I want to make this change, I wanted you ask aeon, or anyone for that matter, if there are any ship-based levels I could do. My skillset is around high legacy-low extended list :)
Btw I’m mainly talking about actual ship gameplay, I consider straight flying a different skillset, and I’m decent at that. :)

Can you make a video about things to do when your bored
These are some really solid tips, and I agree with pretty much everything you said in the video. This will help a lot of people!
1. It's a bonus if you're a creator, as it allows you to also experiment a lot more with the game mechanics. (it's one reason why I've gotten a bit better with with SOME gamemodes)
2. I don't like Nine Circles levels, not satisfying to beat them.
3. I've been patient with most things, even when I've jumped difficulties from time to time. (I have yet to beat Deception Dive, despite having 80%)
4. I fully agree there at 10:35, it's why I say I suck at the game, even if others say I don't.
As a player myself, I am capable of beating harder levels like Deception Dive and Bloodbath, but I often can't be bothered (I usually grind Bloodbath if I get bored of other things in the game. lol)
The editor tip is actually a good concept i should have done this in the beginning and I might have gotten good quicker
this was awesome. My hardest is thanatophobia. Working towards harder stuff
10:41 now those who compared themselves to space REALLY screwed themselves over.
Amazing video Aeon! Thank you do much.
the diversify thing is something that I've been building and still doing it since late 2019 because ik I'm not that good at some game mode and it's finally paid off. as for the patience, I'm quite inconsistent with my own patience. because sometimes I rely on other's progress on a level and got burned out if I can't keep up with it, and that lead to unmotivated phase. anyway great video
this teaches us a lot about everything, very good video aeon tysm!!
I love how the level in the background syncs with the background music 1:46
I beat my hardest yesterday which was Futuristic Road, I brute forced it for 2 days and beat it in about 2.4k attempts, I don't know if this means I was ready to beat something harder and I'm not pushing myself enough or I just tried really hard, I consider this level to be different from my skillset, which is old levels (1.3-1.6) with memory so IDK, congrats on 100k btw
is that the maxis level? that level is painful lmao gj
@@cameronroper6319 it has some memorization at the beginning which is fun, but the drop until 27 is the hardest part
Thank you for your tips, Aeon
Aeon…. txs a lot dude… I think that the only thing im not used to do is practice the mechanics even though I know some of them and be patience with myself not with the level…. because when I see that I spent much more attempts that I would like to spent…. I give up…. for example that happened on my two firsts extreme demons (glide 40% something in 3000 att and reverence 50% something in 5000 att) and now im trying to beat Thanataphobia wich i’ve got 20% in 2000 (most of the att r from practice) so yea…. but thanks for the help man, i’ll practice my mechanics and timings i think it will be important because thanataphobia has some pretty ruff timings and i think this might help… and again aeon…. txs and congrats on the 100k subs
Really good advices :)
i love ur content aeon!
this entire video is just aeon flexing his skills in the backround
hey Aeon, so... basically, I am on 60hz mobile so I'm really struggling with easy levels because I don't have enough time to react and the way I do it is basically, just beating (on safe mode) on like 0.2x speed and then slightly increasing until you reach 1.0x and turn the safe mode off. While it can be nerves-wracking, I am using this strategy to go for harder levels like Death Corridor Old or Devil Vortex (also I use layout mode on Devil Vortex because its making a lot of lag and while its easier to see, the gameplay isn't changed and if I get really close to 1.0x)
For wave, I would also recommend getting the rhythm of 1 slope, at all speeds. Most levels that use wave also use full slopes for the gameplay
“The best way to get better at Geometry Dash”
Me: *Jumps from Dance Massacre to CraZy III for a new hardest*
I was stuck in a trap of not doing hard demon or above difficulty until I decided to do windy landscape and that has motivated me to always try harder levels.
You cant just expect to beat a level within the day of starting it
Spaceuk: Cute
5:41 why does the percentage go back down to 81 after it goes up to 82? *Rock eyebrow raise*
Upon further inspection, I think if you compared yourself to spaceuk again, you'd feel just fine.
Cool advice although when it comes to jumps, I’m more of the opinion that if you like a level enough and you know you can beat it within reason, then it shouldn’t matter how long it takes.
can be good at the game if i have slow reflexes? my brain just can't process what i see fast enough
I have incredibly slow reflexes! Lower than the average person my age on human benchmark. Its all about practice. Just be patient with practice mode :)
Aeon is so good at the game because, his icon is facing forward with eyes, so that means his icon can see the obstacles
One of the best Aeon videos
I fluked acu (my first extreme) from 52 and I knew that wouldn’t happen again when playing cataclysm as my 2nd extreme. So I mentally prepared myself for the next 13,000 attempts it took me to beat it. Now I’m trying to beat TUP (have 46% but zobros’s part and 75-100 are rly hard) but also going through the easy GDDP levels so I don’t get bored.
Ironically enough, I skipped an entire tier on the GDDP without even realizing it. Apparently Acu is a LOT harder than 8o lmao
I am apperently skipping two tiers right now so f u n
That song again. i love how you use this song in all of your videos
I definitely fell victim to the wave one-trick at one point. I was doing a lot of NC levels and was great at the wave, but I was mediocre at everything else
Now I'm good at everything but ship, and even then it's mostly due to the fact that I'm a 60 hz player
What levels helped you the most? I just currently beat windy landscape and poltergeist after taking a 5 year break from the game… pretty free for insane demons but hard lol
im not very motivated to try to beat future funk although i have like 50% on it ( my hardest is "Ye its a demon" by zoroa)
i feel comfortable with the level on average i get 70-100 attempts in practice
its not hard im just not very motivated
biggest tip for beating levels fast is runs to 100
do a few quick practice runs, then do
~90 - 100, ~80 - 100.. all the way down to ~20 - 100
and make sure you get to 100 on every run, dont die to 97 and go to the next one
man that spaceuk line did not age well even tho he is good
If i compare my self to anyone for me its motivation
All I got from this is
balance your skill set
and
if you cant get 20% in a level within a week of playing, you should prob drop it
Aeon advice🙂
The diversity tip is something I have really struggled with, I always knew I was best at timings, good at ship, and bad at wave, but when I practiced translucent I realized how much my skill was based around consistency and not raw skill. The reason for this is I would always play longer levels that were timing and ship based. What I’m doing to try to fix this is some short levels. I don’t what to do for wave since I hate nine circles levels not because they are too hard because the gamplay sucks
im getting better 300 hours in and ive beaten every main level thanks for the tips. still cant beat medium demons
The realism segment made me a bit salty because i got 93 in like 300 attempts then only beating it after 1390 attempts
Exactly what I needed.
Is death moon a good first demon? I mean i've been trying for like 5 days or so and i got to 40% in like 2000 attemps
Nice vid tho
