    The problem is that with increased oxidisation you need to also increase the amount of fuel, else it effectively starves of combustible material and ceases running.

      You are essentially squiring an oxygen expander into the cylinder so by not increasing the fuel in a proportional amount you are leaning out the engine and it will stop.

      Not true. A small “dry” shot is pure NO2 in the intake.
      Wet and direct ports usually will self compensate with fueling or tuning.
      I use to run a small 75 dry shot on my car long ago before I jumped to a 150 wet shot and blew it up. Lol

      @@rajgill7576 NO2 is an oxidizer on its own. I imagine besides the lower Intake temps and the oxidation that happens under the pressure and combustion splits the molecule rendering more oxygen. By restricting the nozzle size, you are in effect increasing the pressure. You need some sort of regulator on there to reduce the pressure coming out of the tube.
    You also need to increase the fuel at the same time as you inject the NOS which will be difficult since model engines don't use fuel pumps.

    • @captainchaos3053
      @captainchaos3053 2 года назад

      Can't increase pressure with a small nozzle. Just can't be done. I have plenty small engines using either fuel pumps or impulse pressure. You should see a chainsaw go on nitro!

    Put a small fuel nozzle in line with the nitrous so it pulls it when you hit the nitrous, it’ll give it a little more enrichment, plus using nitrous on a nitro car is kind of redundant since nitromethane also carries an oxygen molecule just like nitrous oxide.. check out the chemical bond N20 and CH3N02

    I just saw this video and didn't read all of the replies here but since the fuel is methanol based and percentage of nitro already in the fuel basically adding additional NOS is starving the oxygen out of the combustion that is already in the fuel .
    That is one reason that one of the highest nitro ratios is already at 40 percent .
    Usually when over the 40% is when the fuel to oxygen level is peaking to uncombustible levels .
    The only other way is to use the same nitrous fuel is to lean the dog out of it and pressurize the fuel .
    That is how it was done in the control line airplanes to set world records back in the 50s and 60s .
    Just my 30 minute typing lessons from years back 👍👍👍

    1. Your right, nitrous does require a proper ratio of fuel to be added. To rich or lean it won't sustain combustion. Common misconception is that nitrous burns, its only an oxidizer
    2. your flowing to much in general, you can never put a "5000hp shot" on small motor. Your manifold pressure starts to equal, or even exceed, ambient. Nitrous back fires become very likely.
    I dont know if there is a laser that can drill a small enough hole in a jet for the amount you need, thats the trouble with small engines haha.

    Ever wonder why on a car with nitrous the throttle body plate that the nitrous line and solenoid is plumbed to also has a a seperate line with its own solenoid? That "extra line" is a fuel line, so when the nitrous is hit, extra fuel is sprayed into the throttle body along with the nitrous. That is because nitrous carries with it extra oxygen, meaning with nitrous alone the engine would run super lean. That extra fuel being sprayed in simultaneously is supposed to offset that, but just like tuning the carb to have the perfect amount of fuel to air so it isn't running too rich or too lean, that extra bit of fuel will require the same level of tuning to match the nitrous.

    KT... I see a lot of comments with nobody really knowing why. The EXTRA fuel in a nitrous system is not for fuel, its to cool the engine. The rules are diffrent for these model engines your using. Although simple, nitrous does not make more RPM, it makes more power. Your engine is stopping because you are "knocking" the engine. I could explain all of this, but there will be tons of comments to follow this how i am wrong from people who read something wrong, and keep it going.
    Without a load on the motors, you will not see the perks. The motor hits its max RPM without nitrous. With more wet fuel it will either "knock" and kill power, or "knock" so hard it will stall the engine. Retarding and advancing timing is a way to control the burn of fuel, but nothing stops the burning, so with too much, you stall. If you drive a standard transmission, this will make sense.
    I could go on, but a youtube comment would not help much. I dont know what you wanted to see from your experiment, but everything did like it was supposed to.

  • @Collin326C
    @Collin326C 3 года назад

    you need to add fuel. you're just adding air which leans it out until there isnt enough fuel to support the combustion. the reason you can add say a 150 shot into a stock modern system (before it blows up) is because the car is constantly monitoring air/fuel ratio so when it sees it getting lean with the added air (nitrous) it automatically tries to keep up by pulsing injectors more to add more fuel until it cant keep up anymore. this is called a dry nitrous system. this is still really dangerous not only because a stock engine isnt set up to run the extra power, rings need extra clearance, piston to wall needs a little extra clearance depending on how much nitrous, but it also gets lean and hot which causes denotation and a cylinder to foul. in a race engine or engine built for nitrous usually a fuel solenoid is added to the nitrous solenoid (wet nitrous system) to offset the added air intake.

    The process was never designed to go directly into the engine - try making the o2 intake hose longer and connect the nos in a T valve so it can still pull in enough oxygen.
    I would also try injecting while you gradually increase the RPMs - it's all about ensuring the combustion and pistons can keep up. Otherwise the air will just put out the flame - as you saw with the glass top.

    This guy sounds very much like Colin Furze, almost the same amount of energy as well

    Turbo the engines with one of those key chain turbos. It probably wouldn’t work but it’s worth a try

    I bought one of those engines when they were first released and hasn't ever started since out of the box
