- Come with us on a drive in our 2004 Porsche 911-996 X50 Turbo down to Colorado Springs for a magical Christmas experience at the world-famous Broadmoor Hotel! We stop at the “Speed Trap” restaurant and coffee house in Palmer Lake for a quick and very yummy lunch along the way. See some of the scenery on the beautiful ride down Highway 105. We even encounter a Santa parade along the way put on by all the local police and fire districts!
We were at the Broadmoor for Christmas Eve with dinner at the Summit restaurant and cap off the adventure with a feast at the popular Broadmoor Brunch for Christmas morning. Enjoy a tour of the grounds and all the sights that make the Broadmoor so special this time of year.
Special thanks to the Speed Trap Restaurant and, of course the beautiful Broadmoor Hotel for putting up with our filming :)
This video was in no way sponsored by either the Speed Trap or the Broadmoor Hotel… We just really love visiting :)
This movie was shot completely on a Panasonic Lumix G85, Galaxy Note 4 cell phone and GoPro Hero 5. Video was shot by Franny and Heidi.

Thank you for your video! We are staying at The Broadmoor for the first time later this week. Can't wait.
It is amazing and thanksgiving is the best!
Three of my most memorable Christmas locations: Williamsburg, Virginia at the Williamsburg Inn (beautiful setting and extremely restful) , Opryland Hotel in Nashville, Tn (beautiful but absolute chaos with all the people), and while staying at the Grove Park Inn in Asheville, NC, we went for a candlelight tour of the Biltmore House when it was decorated for Christmas (absolutely breath-taking).
The Broadmoor looks like a great place to visit and be catered to. Sometimes the short getaways (2-3 days) can be the most fun and relaxing. Enjoyed the video.
Loved the fixed camera on the luggage cart.
Darrell C. Great to hear from you. Yeah, that's a trick we learned from watching and subscribing to Casey Neistat. He is the master of RUclips cinematography and you must check him out if you haven't. He has taught us a lot.
The 996 Turbo is definitely one of the more underrated cars around. I'd love more footage where we can hear the engines of your cars :)
Adrian, this was a tough video. We wanted it to be more about cars, but it just didn't happen and then the wind picked up so bad that we stopped to get gas and the trashcans were flying everywhere and I was like 'forget that!' So, we would have tried to get more on the way home, but it didn't happen. We are due for a owner review for most of our cars. We have only reviewed the MINI and the 86 911, so we should put one out soon. I will try to get the turbo out on a run. Heidi
Hi Heidi and Franny, I am looking at this from 2020 and wondering if the Broadmoor will be the same this year? My wife and I will be moving to Colorado as soon as we finish our house in Salida. We have never been to the Broadmoor, but plan to go there after seeing your video. What a great video! I loved the editing, the night scenes, the background music and especially the dog scenes. What musical groups do you use for your background music? Keep up the good work.(it must take hours and hours to edit and add the music.) if you have a choice do more videos about 356 stuff. Thanks again Renata and Jim from Frankfort Illinois..
Hi Jim, I imagine the Broadmoor is a bit shut down for now. I bet they will come roaring back as as they get the all clear. It is a fun place to stay and there is enough to do there to not have to leave for a few days.
This was one of our first videos and thus a bit long but I think the second half holds up pretty well. If you are driving up to the Denver area then I highly suggest the rout we took which was west of the interstate. It is just lovely and the local Porsche group take this route twice a year to visit Edelweiss restaurant (close to the Broadmoor). We did a video on one of those trips as well. The music from this video came from the RUclips library I believe. Since then we have a subscription to Artlist.io and I really like their music. It is what you hear in our latest videos.
We do have some more things to get through on our 356 so there will be content for that :)
Welcome to Colorado! Franny
That 996 just earned you another sub.
I will check out your channel tonight too. Thanks for subscribing. I did to your channel as well. Heidi
That looks very American, to a U.K. Person, idyllic, smart, looks like Christmas should be! Good to see two people so happy too xx
+steffydog1 yeah. It's one of our favourite places. We will VLOG another visit there I am sure. Heidi.
I've never experienced a "white" Christmas, living in Australia as I do. You guys do Christmas so much better than we do. If I ever visit the USA, I''ll be sure to stay at the Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs. Thanks Heidi and Franny for sharing your Christmas with us.
Peter J. Uren Hi Peter. Thanks. It is a pretty special place. Heidi
that took me back years ago having dinner there with my Lockheed friends
Been watching your videos all day today great stuff subscribed! The Broadmore is actually in our backyard, ha I'm here in the Springs. Never thought of staying there but we might have to, looked like a lot of fun!
+JHMBB2 if you stay there, rates are way better from Oct to Feb for obvious reasons. We really like it. The Summit is still my all time favourite place over Penrose Room for dinner. Make sure you tell them our channel sent you. Have fun! Heidi
Great video, loved it! I loved that you added the specs of your Porsche, good to know those details. And I really liked the cinematography and sound quality - gorgeous! Especially your night sequences came out great - loved all the sparkly lights. It was great for me seeing the Broadmoor since I've never been there. Looking forward to your next vid!
Dave Rowley thanks for the feedback. We appreciate it. Good to see you last week.
This is like opryland hotel in nashville!!
+Nivey I haven't been there. It sounds nice. Heidi
That hotel looks absolutely gorgeous! Thanks for sharing :)
Scott Howard it is really spectacular. I recommend thanksgiving. Hopefully we will make it there this year. Heidi
That was so much fun! Thank you! I felt like I was along for the ride. And the scenery was incredible!
This is a wonderful video. I truly enjoy your channel. I look forward to watching more content from you.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed. Heidi
Hi, Ladies.......it's Adrian (18echosf) again. I had my wife sit down and watch your Broadmoor video and she said "it's a go for me!" I've already contacted the hotel about reservations for May 2018 and they will be calling me to make the reservation. It will be our first long drive adventure after my new 2018 Porsche 911 Carrera arrives in August. Anyway.......thanks, once again, for your recommendation about the room type. If possible, while we're in Colorado Springs, it would be great to meet you both, treat you to dinner, and talk cars for a bit. I love your channel thanks to Nick Murray's recommendation. So, stay well!
18echosf when is your trip? PM me. Heidi.
Heidi and Franny's Garage Heidi, check your Instagram account. I couldn't send a PM on RUclips.
Hmmm Double? Love the specialized tags for all the vehicles. Whats the reason behind the one on the 996?
+Tim Gossett you got it. We wanted Twin T but in German. Heidi.
Was that Franny in heels??
Shirley Chessman oh yeah. She cleans up well when she wants to. Lol.
When I saw this thumbnail I thought you went to Broadmoor in the UK - which is a notorious prison for psychotic criminals! Your Broadmoor is much nicer...
That's awesome!!
