When I first stumbled across Ryan I thought to myself, “some people are just born with brilliance and incredible personalities “. Now that I see 45 has his own form of character genius, I figure FortNine must just have a box of extra personality laying around the shop. I have looked under my bed, deep into my closet, and in every drawer of the house to find some personality of my own and still came up short. I hope these guys never stop because I think they are the only thing fostering any hope for humanity besides all you can eat buffets and fiber gummies.
Werner had a variation: put the coffee beans in the carburettor and run them through the Harry engine once and collect them in the exhaust pipe at the back, then you have perfectly ground coffee that you can then brew well
When I worked in the woods, we'd cook whole meals on the manifold, head, and block. My Dad picked it up during his army days- they used canned rations back then.
BC Ferries should be paying you for this promotional material honestly. So cool to see you at the pulp mill in Powell River! They still use the on-site generator there to make electricity to sell back to to BC Hydro (I verified their fire protection a year ago). Hope you enjoyed the island!
@@robinwells8879 I wouldn't call it *super* remote, it's like a 15 minute drive from the center of Powell River. I have no idea what the power is used for, unfortunately.
Remember when a year ago everyone was frowning at then 44 and asking where Ryan is? Great filming, great idea and great tacos! Evern greater trip to make things perfect. Ride on, 45!
Gahhhhh! 45 was in my now home, Powell River, and I missed him! Super glad to see us featured in some of the spotlight and for our population, we punch waaaay above our weight on the food scene. There are some amazing places to see up here both on and off road, and the Sunshine Coast is a gorgeous ride. I highly encourage any of you two wheeled minded people to come up or across for a visit.
I LOVE this short adventure format. I hope there is way more in the pipeline, such a good way to get us excited to just get on our bikes and enjoying life and nature.
When I was riding across Europe I would put my underwear and socks into a waterproof sailors bag, add water and washing liquid and seal the bag with air inside, strap the bag to the bike and ride all day. The vibrations and movement from the bike would agitate the washing like a washing machine, at the end of the day remove items, rinse and hang on bike handlebars to dry over night. Only recommended for small items and light T shirts and vests
...you can also strap that bag to your wheel to speed things up, and then tie the clothes on top of your luggage to dry in the wind while riding really quickly
I've tried this a few times on dual sport trips and found repeatedly that in the Northeast US it's always too dang humid at night for anything to dry out. Still need the 'afternoon yard sale' drying session. And drying while riding just makes my clothes dusty or muddy which is why I washed them in the first place. All to say: experiment! Some strategies will work. Some will backfire. 😆
45 has finally been freed to make content that represents him (rather than trying to play/imitate someone else's role) Thoroughly enjoyed the video. Congrats!
Nothing in the world like being the first off the upper deck of ferry, standing on your foot pegs, bouncing down the ramp, nothing but open road ahead of you.
Many, many years ago I rode a KLR 650. Whenever I came home from a deployment I would take a couple days to go ride somewhere in the North Cascades (from Fort Lewis), go trout fishing and camping, just to decompress. I used to cook the trout in foil over a fire, but your fish tacos reminded me of this.
We do something similar with our sandwiches on construction projects. Just wrap in foil and wedge between the exhaust headers and block. works great lol. Just gotta make sure it's /well/ wrapped to keep out dust.
1: Dual sport to gold panning 2: Dual sport to fossil hunting 3: Dual sport to spirit bear area 4: Dual sport to epic railroad trestles 5: Dual sport to salmon spawn / eagle nest / huge f'ing tree etc etc etc I think we can all agree we need to see this BC travel series expand.
Great video! I live in Courtenay and spearfish. There is awsome spearfishing all over the island and i hope you come back to see more. I suggest denmin Island too.
as a motorcyclist and a SCUBA diver. This hit two of my favorite types of videography, underwater and over land on a motorcycle. I absolutely LOVED this video... maybe I could try strapping my SCUBA cylinder to my sissy bar? I'll give it a go sometime.
The story of the cold night ride triggered a chilling memory. Went riding late in the year because the dirt is awesome. Wound up getting hit by a snow storm on the trails far from the truck. Same situation where we had to stop every 5 minutes to warm up our hands to the point where we could operate the brake and clutch well enough to ride. Absolute misery but an experience.
Giving me flashbacks to earning my Advanced SCUBA certification. Straight of JDF, while stationed in Port Angeles, WA. The ferry between there, and Victoria, BC/Ca. Wore a 7mm full-body, covered with a 5mm core shorty. Was warmer off of the Esquimalt pier, than my partners were in their "Dry-suits"
Connor is really coming into his own, and I find I now enjoy his videos every bit as much as Ryan’s. They just keep finding new and interesting twists to the whole “clone mechanic” plot line, and now that 45 is running free I can’t wait to see where Fortnine goes with this. What a fantastic channel.
I am totally going to try and cook my lunch on my exhaust!! I love minimalist camping with my Motorcycles. No better way to clear all the office BS from your mind.
@@NSUGSThe mill mostly supplied paper for newspapers and magazines. With the decline in the need for newsprint and increased use of recycled paper, there just wasn't enough business to keep it profitable.

This was so amazing. Thank you so much for this video. 45 you rock! I love that you show it doesn't always go to plan and that even the pros make mistakes. Good hunting!
Very nice! For US viewers; Home Depot has deerskin gloves that are awesome for $25 bucks, and 3M clear and tinted eye protection for about $8 bucks each, both UVA/B and impact rated. they fit under all my helmets beautifully. For us old guys, stick on cheater reader lenses work great. I step on, destroy, lose, and generally abuse the crap out of my eyewear so the 3M safety glasses with stick on reading lenses is a disposable option that works well and is comfortable. Treat the gloves with the space-age waterproofing stuff and it's heaven.
Kids, if you make your own spear in the wild and jab from shore, remember the refraction of light as the ray bend from air to water. You need to aim slightly deeper and closer to you than the fish appears to be in the water.
Blight - Probably not the best to encourage Rockfish fishing since on verge of collapse with mandatory release in most areas. Would also be nice to drive quieter bikes in the bush leaving the rest of us in peace.
As a Powell River boy, born and raised, I loved to see home in your video. The future of those hulks are in question with the mill having shut down. It'll be sad to see such a unique piece of history disappear.
i remember one of my favorite memories of a summer day 3 years back. the sun was blasting. little to no wind here in norway. took with me my fishing rod, lures, phone, wallet, shorts and tanktop, and slippers... went off on my older yamaha xt600k. 2 hour ride in perfect sun. cruising along. found a perfect spot to fish. 4 throws, 2 huge mackrels. slayed and stored them for eating. threw myself out in the water, dried out on my walk back to the motorcycle. drove home, fired up the grill. threw on some cut in slices potatoes on the grill with the fish.. man... that day was just perfect.. i will never ever forget it :)
Wife and I went to Vancouver Island to camp and fish No access to a single FSR because Mosaic privatised every single road I went though so many gates looking for a place to camp after the late ferry We camped by elk bay near sayward
Nice! I recognized the Kelp Greenling, we have them down here in California too. They can have worms but yours was thoroughly cooked. Many years ago I have learned that you can dry fresh herbs in the fins of your cylinders but it requires higher rpm and more airflow.
Loving the dual sport content. Traveling/exploring, camping, other outdoor activities, even quick grocery runs, they're the perfect option when you can only have one motorcycle.
This was so good! I know they're a ton of work, but I'd love to see more adventure videos from you guys. Great story, beautiful b roll, and a fun fact about the break water. Top notch!

JB is another one worth mentioning
It's also experience. Ryan has a long career.
I too have searched and failed . I ride alone ,that should be the the tell
I am sensing significant personality from you for sure. We’re not always the best at measuring our own personalities. That’s for others to decide. ❤😂
45 is alive!
And he’s on the lamb! Now we wait for the F9 episode where Ryan and 46 use adventure bikes to hunt him down.

BC Ferries takes a lot of shit but the reality is it's a pretty fucking awesome system.
+1 especially if you are on a motorcycle. so long as you get there earlier than the boat, you generally get to be first on, first off
