I am just starting planes after a successful partial career in helicopters. This is one of the best tutorials I have seen explaining a maneuver. I like that he even shows you common issues and what he did wrong to cause that.
Very nice James! I have been working on this for a while now but I still don't dare to bring them down low with my 70" slick. I still struggle a little with my throttle management but this video will help for sure!
It's a rolling circle from horizontal to vertical with far more dangerous segments. In pattern they perform the same move with one roll through the whole loop, perhaps for demo purpose begin with that
Thanks. I figure this was probably how it was done. I just can't believe the speed at which some of these pilots are doing these. Really twitchy thumbs! I wish I could put my flight sim in slow motion to practice this. Lol.... wait... is there a way? RF Evo.
Thanks For the Great Tutorial You set me the the right path and with a greater understanding of what to due and to concentrate on. One thing please dont put music to your Tutorials Please the motor sound is something I really concentrate on as well.
James...are you watching the airplane to determine stick movements or is just a timing/pattern thing with the control sticks? You get what I'm trying to say?
+Joshua James Castle if youve done rolling harrier with just elevator you would notice its not as effective but it works a rolling loop in my opinion is mostly rudder just imagine doing a knife edge with no rudder it wouldnt work the rolling loop needs the rudder to get into high alpha so its really not possible without proper timing of the rudder i would try doing the rolling harrier with rudder because judging by this comment you dont do it with rudder best way for me to describe it is a rolling harrier with more rudder input and more throttle
Thanks for the advice! But since i posted that comment i have learned to do a harrier with both rudder and elevator. How i learned to do rolling loops with both rudder and elevator was by rolling very slowly and gradually add the rolling speed. Plus this helped a lot for doing a harrier with both controls as it showed me what the controls and the Timing needed to be. But anyway thanks for your time writing to me!!! :)
You and Bonedoc are the only two I keep waiting patiently for a new tutorial. Thanks.
So your left rolling loop is still pretty darn awesome. excellent tutorial and lots of 3d fun ahead. thanks again. keep em rolling.

Have a good time learning and don't break any airplanes....lololol best advice ever James! ! $
Many thanks for including a Mode 1 version, great stuff.
Thank you my good sir.
Well explained, dude. Props :)
What airplane are you flying when flying the real thing?
Well Done :) keep them comming

Sure, it's all about reflexes
@Coloso Rc I appreciate the timely response. Been thru like 4 other hobbies since this phase.
@@RonSavage01 hahaha
really good video:)
where did you get the name wamsy from?
Do you prefer the phoenix or rf
RF
iv'e had mine for years
that rolling harrier is way too fast to look good
I seldom see even the best pilots do a complete loop, from top to bottom, why? I guess I got my answer.
Is it possible to Manage the Loop with just Elevator and no Rudder ?
