I am, and have done so probably a dozen times this year, not to mention the hundreds of times in the last decade. While that may be due to the fact that what is today's standard for 'music' hurts those with a sense of sound and clarity of listening purpose, some of us like to hear and understand lyrics that tell a story and make sense without all the synthesized garbage that passes as 'music' these days.
My son and I met Jessica a long time ago in Virginia and she was very nice and my son really loved her. We were standing right at the stage and she saw me writing something on a piece of paper and she said "oh I'm going to get a note" and I gave the note to her and she wished a friend of ours a Happy Birthday and after her concert we were getting ready to leave, but we were just standing there hoping that we could meet her and all of a sudden a man came over to us and handed us both a sticker and said for us to go back stage and meet her....the guy had to be her manager. That was really nice of him and she was so nice....we had a picture taken with her and she autographed a lot of things for us.
My brother actually met trent tomlinson the guy who sings one wing in the fire Trent actually at the time was married to a distant cousin of ours even got his autograph love that song
I loved the series " Sue Thomas fb eye" myself I'm Thomas & fell in love with this theme song.. I was a 21 & in college back in 2004! Now headed to clocking 40 this year with an 18year old son..gosh, how time flies!!!!
Father's girl who lost her papa. Failed the boards. Survived depression. Unstable and still fighting. Been going through something today and I found this song. Thank you for this song.
Everything happens for a reason ; and sometimes it takes a lil while to figure out why. I've been in tough spots myself and just when I thought it was over , things got a little better. Honestly , if I didn't go through some of the toughest times in my life , I definitely wouldn't be where I am today ; which is in a good spot. Keep pushin'...good days will come to you.
My mom would play this song all the time. She passed when I was 17 and a couple days after, this song played on the radio. I immediately sobbed. Now I have a baby girl and I play this for her and I will always be her biggest fan. She is a blessing and she is amazing.
Hi Quentin,i thouroughly agree with you,a most underrated singer, this has to be my favourite country song sung by a lady,WOW is alk i have to say about it.
My mother Rosemary died at the young age of 39 from cancer. I was her only daughter out of 4 children. I was 20 at that time. Now I have a daughter and I play this song for her all the time and will be playing it at my daughter's Quinceanera in a few weeks during a slide show. Everyone will definitely be crying especially me. Thank you for this beautiful song!
As I am sitting in hospice with my Grandma Rose Marie and playing this song for her. This song has always been our song. Grandma I love you so much and I hope you fly high and dance with grandpa.
That's who this song should be for. Every person fighting death or trying to support life. I sometimes listen to this song for rationally is so great about it, it's not intellectually genius, this song is so emotional and spiritual genius though, just like most classic country and classic rock, but especially classic country, you just can't argue with it, and you don't know why. I posted on my Facebook "if someone can produce a relevant argument tell me" but I erased it because no one even liked the video....I should send it to my mom and sisters and they would get it...but I just feel that...like someone really form an academic argument against "Rosemary's Granddaughter" okay.
My grandmother rosemary passed away 3 years ago 😢 and I look just like my dad nothing like my mom. And my mom is my best friend. 😭😭😭 song hits so hard home for me.
I remember in 2001 a nerdy girl in middle school got up on stage at a talent contest with her guitar and everyone looking at her like what is she going do, doubting her...when she was finished with this song the crowd went crazy over her beautiful voice and guitar skills, man she sang it better then the original.....never forgotten that...
I remember when I had my little girl, I was only 16 and doing it all alone and my baby was crying and crying and I couldn't figure out why..... Just when I was about to give up. This song came on and I started singing it to her... She fell asleep within a min of the song... I literally cried of happy tears... Just knowing that I was able to do something right... And now my beautiful baby girl is 3 and is bright as ever... This is her favorite song☺️☺️☺️
I am so sorry you didn't know what to do then! But now it is better and that is SO sweet!!!! I am so happy for you because I know tht feeling like," What do I do?? I haven't been here before!!!"
Same here, just what happened to me today, I miss country music like this, it was so much better back then, I remember hearing this song as a kid and was feeling nostalgic for my childhood
I am a 74 year old man. I am different, quiet and so good at my job, even in the US Navy, I pissed people off. Not intentionally. This song really made me feel good.
I have loved this song for so many years now! I listen everyday and consider it my theme song ..amazing words and true to my heart and spirit! "Nothing changes who I am"! Thank you, Jessica Andrews ..true, beautiful lyrics and joyous, happy video!♥️
I'm a dude. I listen to heavy frickin metal. And this song gets me, every frickin time. My son even likes it and doesn't think I'm a puss for liking it. My daughter hates it. Go figure that. Probably because my son and I play it so much.
Listening to this song while looking at a picture of my dad. He passed last year. It got me to shed a tear. I look a lot like my dad. I'm fortunate to take that with me to remember him.
I just lost my Life Companion several weeks ago...having a hard time adjusting...started watching Sue Thomas Private Eye on the Hallmark channel on roku...and this is the theme song...I listened to it and this is just me...so now it is my theme song...thank you Jessica Andrews...you are an angel.
I have lost a lot of things in my life like my dad when he was killed in action in Iraq. This song helps me deal with it. And just to mention I can't wait to take my dad's place. I am going to be deployed in a couple of days in Iraq myself. God bless all of our U.S. troops fighting for our freedom.
My mom loved this song so much and I used to HATE IT. Now that she’s no longer with me, it reminds me so fondly of her dancing and singing around our old kitchen.
This song makes me break into tears every time I hear it. My mother’s name is Rosemary. My daughter is Rosemary’s granddaughter, she looks just like her father, she’s definitely (and I say this with all the love in the world) clueless and clumsy a lot of times, but I’m always and forever her biggest fan. I’ve called this my daughter’s song from the moment I first saw her. I would never change a thing about my baby girl (said baby is about to turn 10, lol) and this song will always be one of my favorites because of how well it fits her and how it makes me think of both my daughter and my mom. ♥️
My daughter is also named Rosemary after my mom - Rosemary's granddaughter - my Rosemary is also 10 - turns 11 in June. You & I have same thoughts about this song - my mom passed in 88' so this song really gets to me sometimes - play it for my daughter regularly
Jessica, Lee-ann, Jo-dee, Sara evans, Shania, faith hill, just to name a few, that was the greatest time for women country singers. No one trying to be the hardest, or the baddest b.. just raw voices, great lyrics and telling stories about them living life and being who they are and you can take it or leave it because they know their values.. I truly miss 90’s-00’s country
This song always keeps me true to who I am and my grandma was my biggest north star and she passed from cancer 4 years ago and I lived with her my whole life she helped my mom raise me and I heard this song the other day in the car when I was really missing her and asked for a sign and this song came on the radio and i balled
My grandma Rosemary was an artist and although she died before I was born I carry so much of her with me, every time I paint I feel her presence. Used to listen to this on repeat as a kid
Since I'm always on the LATE FREIGHT I must admit, I JUST NOW discovered this series!!! I've not had a TV since 1982; I watch on my computer. I REALLY like this show, all the characters are endearing.
I am just newly diagnosed with cancer and i immediately came to this song because its so true. I am Evelyns granddaughter, the spitting image of my father and even tho i lost my mom to cancer, she is still my biggest fan....
glad this song is helping you through your hard time, :) as for me it helped me get through some human trafficking to think there was someone out there in the world sung about by Edison Lighthouse named Rosemary whose personality was so like mine but no one loved her or valued her except for the singer and then to imagine she got through the experience of being hated and she had a granddaughter named Jessica who really valued her and the rest of her family. :) super helpful songs when played together...since my traffickers were my family and they said I had no value other than to be a slave. :( but I didn't agree and I shared the two Rosemary songs with them and other songs and eventually they let me escape. even tho my name is not Rosemary, I can really relate to Rosemary :) I hope I meet a Rosemary one day. :) and find a family to love me :)
From my 2001 to 2002 playlist. Doesn’t look like how I remember it but I remember the swing. But I’m feeling extremely nostalgic, can’t believe this is 20 years ago. I really want go back in time.
First time hearing this song...i usually do not listen to country but this song is so natural and feeling her natural beauty and her organic words just made me love this
fun fact: this song was used as the theme song for sue thomas FB EYE, based on the first deaf FBI agent. loved that show. stumbled on the song again recently.
This song leaves me with goose bumps cause my grandma passed away Wednesday morning and rosemary was her name and I am the spitting image of my dad everything is said perfect
I'm a dude, U.S. Marine Afghanistan war vet, listen to and play classic rock and jazz, don't know a Rosemary and look more like my Mom... But I always loved the tune.
I lost my father 8 years ago and this song fits me ...I am a spitting image of him and although I may be clueless and clumsy at times I know im strong enough to pull through..and my family has my back
The only reason Jessica wasn't 'Taylor Swift' of her time was whomever was getting her music and managing her career... she certainly had the talent...
Message to everyone who is listening through this crazy time in 2020 stay safe I love you all we will make it through this and be better and stronger when we come out the other side let’s meet back here in 12 months. 🙏🙏 Be kind to someone else each day it will make your day a brighter one.
Robert Z D The lady in front of me in the drive thru at Dunkin Donuts paid for my and daughter’s drinks today. It was a small simple gesture but welled tears of gratitude in my eyes. Reminded me of how kind everyone was to each other after the attacks of 9/11 which sparked the pay it forward movement. I plan on doing that. Thank you for the encouraging words and know that others are wishing the same for you. 😊
Laney Whitaker that is so awesome, there are kind people all over if we just open our eyes to look for the positive in life and not look for the negative in people like most humans seems to do these days. It takes more effort to be miserable than to be happy let’s get that pay it forward movement going again I’m a fan of that. Thank you my friend for sharing your story 😁
This is my favorite female artist song.I heard it for the first time during my unfortunate incarceration. It was a trying time for sure and I still can’t believe that happened to me, not once but twice. Oh well, clearly God knows what he is doing and I’m just along for the ride!
Blessings in an abundance of the faith. I salute you. 😘🙏Grace and peace be unto you and to this place. God bless you. 🌈🌈🌈Thank you. Will you believe and receive Jesus Christ as your LORD and personal saviour??? I do.
It took me some effort to remember the name of this song. Drew a blank on the artist's name. So I came here, typed in "Who I am" and BINGO! Jessica Andrews! So glad I found this. Brought back some memories.
This kinda touched me. My moms name is Rosemary. We barely seen each other once a year since 2001 I moved outta Montana after high school. I really miss her
I probably haven't heard this song since I was in my teenage years, for some reason I just started singing it today, it stuck with me for almost 15 years!
Your not alone, I read "i guess its who I am" in a chat with a friend and this shot back into memory. Dont even listen to country like that but the early 2000s...big part of my childhood
Who is listening to this in 2024
I am! I keep coming back to it! It's a beautiful and meaningful song! It's also the theme song of the remarkable Sue Thomas F. B. Eye tv show.
Me❤
Me i am fighting depression and this is one song I go to
I am, and have done so probably a dozen times this year, not to mention the hundreds of times in the last decade.

I am!!
Who remembers this from their childhood?
Im an old man now 41, this song played when I was younger very popular and good

Anyone else just rediscover this song for the first time in 20 years?
Jessica never got the airplay she needed. Another country artist forgotten...... Until this video. Thanks so much for the upload
Country music tells a story. It stirs the heart and soul
I have always liked this song.
I never thought blacks couldn't like country music. So I don't know what that has to do with.
My husband is Black and I am white. We listen to mostly country music. We have two beautiful daughters and they LOVE country music as well. 💜
This song just randomly popped into my head 11 years later so I had to listen to it! So good

This song is an ear worm. Just popped into my head after years. It’s very satisfying to listen to
Same here, just what happened to me today, I miss country music like this, it was so much better back then, I remember hearing this song as a kid and was feeling nostalgic for my childhood
This was the only country song I could stand as a kid. Good thing I liked it, too, as my stepmom played it constantly.
Here for a nostalgia hit.
Lol im here in just about the same boat, pal. I used to hear it on my mom's car radio all the damn time when this came out
@@africaRBG Yep, this song dominated country radio in the early aughts. It's a banger, so I can understand that.
I know what you mean
Same! The woman in my fam played it non-stop too. Little did I understand the lyrics then. Love a good nostalgia hit too!
You must have missed out not liking country
I am a 74 year old man. I am different, quiet and so good at my job, even in the US Navy, I pissed people off. Not intentionally. This song really made me feel good.

A song about knowing and accepting yourself for who you really are.
We desperately need more of this today.
As of August 2019, Jessica Andrews has never won a Grammy. However, she is just fine because she knows exactly who she is.
Exactly
I am old, but I am able. I love this song. Thank you.
I forgot about this song and how much I loved it!! Haven't heard it in over 20 years and knew every word❤️
This song makes me break into tears every time I hear it.

I'm a dude, U.S. Marine Afghanistan war vet, listen to and play classic rock and jazz, don't know a Rosemary and look more like my Mom... But I always loved the tune.
Go Marines, that's awesome! Thank you for your service! ☺️

The only reason Jessica wasn't 'Taylor Swift' of her time was whomever was getting her music and managing her career... she certainly had the talent...
Yes that matters! Taylor’s mother is a marketing expert.
All due respect Ms. Andrews.....we the fans need to see a new song! Because we love you! Ms Rosemary's Granddaughter!!!!!!!
I'm Carolyn's granddaughter, the spitting image of my mother & at the end of the day my grandpa is my biggest fan.
This song just popped into my head, it was my favourite song as a kid!
Omg, it took me like 5 minutes to remember literally my favorite song of the 2000's! It's in my Playlist so I can't lose it again 😂
This kinda touched me. My moms name is Rosemary. We barely seen each other once a year since 2001 I moved outta Montana after high school. I really miss her
Go see your Mom NOW, do not wait. I’d give anything to see my Mom again. Miss you Mom.
I probably haven't heard this song since I was in my teenage years, for some reason I just started singing it today, it stuck with me for almost 15 years!
Ditto
Ya, me too. Why didn’t she continue? Was up to her.
Your not alone, I read "i guess its who I am" in a chat with a friend and this shot back into memory. Dont even listen to country like that but the early 2000s...big part of my childhood
