Hi Ash, I’ll be buying this on the weekend. I will use it every Saturday night. I use Tretinoin every other nights. I have been using Paula’s choice 6% Mandelic 2% Lactic for a few weeks so I’m going to try this lactic acid. I follow it with Cerave night moisturizer
I just purchased a bunch of the ordinary products for my very dry skin based on your videos and I don't know what is causing peeling... I use the a Squalane cleanser then the lactic acid 10% + HA, then the hyaluronic acid 2% +B5, then a B oil, if my skin feels too dry I also apply the 100% plant derived Squalane and my ordinary natural moisturizer to finish my night time routine. Is the lactic acid and the hyaluronic acid too much? What is causing peeling when I add my oil? Btw, I've experienced no irritation from any acid so far. I would appreciate any help tips and Tricks!
I discovered lactic acid in one of your previous videos and I really like it. I use it once a week and I also use salicylic acid once a week. Thank you very much Ashley, have a nice weekend 🌷🤗
Hello 👋🏽 I have a question, even if I have dry skin, can I use the lactic acid ? Bescause you recommend me this bc i have texture and hyperpigmentation but idk if I can use it. Btw thanks you very much for your video 🙏🏽🙏🏽
Hi there! Yes!! Lactic Acid is great for people who have dry skin. All exfoliating acids will help with texture and hyperpigmentation but depending on what your skin type is will determine which acid you should use ☺️
Woah, just found your channel today and was literally researching this exact product yesterday. 👀In my 2nd day of researching skin care ❤ Love your channel! Very informative and content on target 👏
I just accidentally bought the ten percent and have never used lactic acid before - is there a way I can still use it? Like cut it with something? I should have watched all these videos before I purchased 5 bottles of things I thought sounded fun :)
Hey Dear Ashley 🥰 we know by now : no no no to Glycolic and yes yes yes to Lactic 🤟🏼👊🏼 I am still using the Glycolic for my underarms instead of deodorant and it does work, keeps the BO at bay ☺️ 😋 So at least I will not waste any product. I am actually using the Lactic 10% in my AM routine, right after Timeless Vit C and I have no issues. Of course the SPF 50, tones of it , goes without saying 😆 after using these 2 together. I use Lactic in the AM since I don’t have much choice, Tretinoin every night for me 💪🏼 PS: you are too sweet , worrying about the sun coming through the blinds 🥰🤗 awww🤩 don’t worry, we are paying attention to what you say, not at what’s going on in the background 😉
Glad to hear the glycolic acid is working for your underarms.. I haven't tried that 😉 Yeah a lot of people like to use lactic acid with their vitamin c which is great if you are seeing results with the two!! Thank you for always being so kind🥰
Hi Kristen, yes, I just pour a few drops in the palm of my hand and apply directly on clean dry underarms. I use the Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Liquid Glow. Sometimes I do put some deodorant once is dry , but most times I don’t ☺️ The Glycolic acid is enough. Also I use a benzoyl peroxide based face wash for underarms in the shower. It seems that kills the bacteria which causes the smell . Have a search around, you will find studies / recommendations on this 👍🏼😁

Hi Ashley, can you use the Ordinary 5% Lactic Acid along with the Maelove Glowmaker? I saw someone else that uses the 5% in her morning routine and not the night routine....
Is this safe to use with Aczone in the morning? I’m using Altreno (a tretinoin) in the PM so I would want to use the Lactic Acid in the morning. Wanted to ask if it’s safe!
You’re so amazing at explaining everything 😍 I have inflamed hyperpigmentation and was wondering if there is anything you recommend for this? I have dehydrated combo skin, a don’t have texture anymore from acne I just have redness and hyperpigmentation 😩 if you have any product recommendations I’d love to hear them ❤️

Hello Ash! I'm new to skincare. For the very first time, I'm intended to add a chemical exfoliator in my skincare routine. So,Can I start with The Ordinary 5% lactic acid ? Your videos are very very helpful. Take Love from Bangladesh ❤️
Hi :) I’ve been watching your videos for a while now and they’ve been a big help! I love your videos they helped me very much. So in a week i use lactic acid two days in a week and retinol two days in a week. Is it too much or is it okay? i have problematic skin, hormonal acne. Thank you for your video, I would be lost without you.

I would go with the Lactic Acid 5% then work your way up to the 10% eventually if you need to.. Mandelic Acid is great for sensitive skin but it is a weaker acid.
Hello, im on may 2nd week of using glycolic acid and 3rd week of niacinamide. Do you think its ok to add this lactic acid and alpha arbutin on my routine?
I used to use the AHA BHA peel but even just once a month that was too strong for me. I switched to LA 5% and the first time using it I didn’t notice a difference. The second time I used it like 2 weeks later I noticed a great difference! I will continue the 5% and May switch to 10% if the 5% no longer works. Have you tried the salicylic acid masque?
Hii mam, I found ur channel 2day, it is very informative but am confused which products to choose for my daily skincare routine AM and PM . PLS PLS suggest me products I have sensitive mild dry skin . And i want cleanser, exfoliator, anti aging serum, serum, oil, and moisturizer from the ordinary Pls pls make time and suggest me am 23y old Thanku
Thank you!! It really depends on the individual as to how many times you want to use it and how sensitive your skin is to acids but once or twice a week is great!
Do you find any benefit to rotating between the 7% glycolic acid and 10% lactic acid? I have both and like them, I use them on rotating nights. But I’m considering just continuing with one. Thing is, I can’t tell which is better, lol!
It's not necessary to have both as they do very similar things but it really comes down to which one your skin likes better. I would try one of them for a week or two and then switch to the other one for a week or two and see how they perform on your skin and go from there😉
Yes you definitely want to leave the Lactic Acid on your skin until you decide to wash your face next (eg: morning) It should also be the first product you apply before other serums and moisturizer. I uploaded a video on my Part 2 Night routine if you want to check it out ruclips.net/video/wZRXwDbQ0Jo/видео.html I apply the lactic acid on my skin in that video...
I use the lactic acid 5%. I have been using it for about a month. It didnt do much. I barely see a difference. Maybe it would have made a difference if i bought the lactic acid 10%. I dont think im gonna repurchase.
I’ve never really used a dedicated chemical exfoliant, my skin isn’t bad I don’t have acne but I do have dry skin and I got this hoping that it would help rid me of some flaky skin, so far it hasn’t done that, I’ve used some toners in the past that had aha and they seemed to do a much better job of immediately removing flaky skin and leaving my skin feeling soft and hydrated, this product certainly doesn’t do that. Which is unfortunate. I’ve heard some people say that it takes a month to see results and that just seems kind of backwards to me, a chemical exfoliant that takes a month to exfoliate? Idk about all that; I’m going to continue using it but so far I’m not remotely impressed, I haven’t seen it really “do” much of anything except make it more difficult to put on my moisturizer due to the HA.
Ps: I do have sensitive skin, my skin doesn’t like a lot of things, for example I would never use that Glycolic acid toner, but this Lactic Acid 10% HA serum doesn’t seem too strong or irritating to me whatsoever, I actually kind of wish it was a little stronger so it would actually exfoliate. Unless your skin is reactive to everything under the sun I can’t really imagine it being too irritating for almost anyone as long as you use it as directed and don’t use any other counteracting actives. I personally think the 5% wouldn’t even be worth trying, the 10% seems weak to me and I have legitimately sensitive skin, overall my skin is healthy but I am on the drier side and this doesn’t irritate my skin but it also doesn’t exfoliate my skin really at all either. Just my experience, good luck.
Some people like to use the two together but the Ordinary does recommend to keep them separate to prevent the two products from canceling each other out..
Oh shoot yes that is right.. Sorry I thought I read L-ascorbic acid powder.. Yes you can use the two together. I typically don’t but a lot of people do..
TO Lactic 5% has done nothing for me & I’m afraid of the 10%. I’ve been using Paula’s Choice Daily Smoothing Treatment AHA 5% glycolic & it’s very gentle, not drying at all.
@@SincerelyMissAsh i contacted a manufacturer and they said those percentages would not exfoliate but rather used as a ph adjuster in the face cream. just wanted others' opinion?
If that is what the manufacturer said then that is a great source for your answer. Those percentages are lower so perhaps they won't exfoliate the same as the 5% or 10% from the Ordinary as these higher percentages will exfoliate.
I use the Mandelic acid and I really like it. It feels like a Serum going on the skin and doesn’t irritate my skin. I’m also on tretinoin and I find that the stronger acids irritating at the moment as well. I enjoyed the lactic acid before it was reformulated. When it first came out it was a thicker texture similar to the HA. I am looking forward to your thoughts on the mandelic acid. Side note: I finally found the Cerave SA cleanser here!! There’s a few bottles left, so if you would like me to send you one, let me know. I’ll be happy to do it for a fellow Canadian 😊😊😊
I am really excited to try the Mandelic Acid and see how it works compared to the Lactic Acid.. Glad to hear you are enjoying it especially since you are also a Tretinoin user... Aw Tina, you are so sweet and thank you so much for offering to send one to me🥰 but it's ok. I do have a few more places that I am going to check first as I plan on going on a road trip this weekend so fingers crossed LOL!
GIRL! My road trip today was a success. I can't believe I found the SA Cleanser.. There was one left on the shelf so I guess I can call myself lucky lol!! Thought I would let you know 😉
I would keep them separate only because with the Ordinary Buffet + Copper Peptides it says not to use with direct acids and since this is also copper I would keep them separate in different routines.
Im using their buffet peptide serum, hyaluronic acid and retinol in squalane ( not granactive thanks to dr Dray) for couple months now and my skin is literally glowing, never in my life it looked better. Recently i bought their lactic acid 10%, i never used acid before because my skin is extremely sensitive plus i have rosacea. Could someone please help me how do i introduce lactic acid in my skin care routine. Do i put it before or after HA?? Do i put buffet after and than mousturizer, of course im not gonna put on the same day as retinol right??
Hi there! If you are new to an acid you do want to start with one day a week (do this for a few weeks) and then go to two days a week (leaving several days in between) and gradually up your usage from there to prevent any irritations/dryness. Acids generally should be applied after you have cleansed your skin and before serums (HA), oils and moisturizer. Acids are also best to use in the evening.. You don't want to use Buffet with acids as these two conflict with one another so make sure to use them on separate routines. You are correct, don't use acids with retinol as this pairing can be harsh and irritating to the skin..
I do have a video on my channel already from last year on this😉 I haven't been using Setting Sprays lately but I do like the Urban Decay All Nighter as well as the MAC Fix +.... Charlotte Tilbury came out with a new one that I really want to try as it's suppose to be really good for keeping your makeup in place🙋🏼♀️
Hello! I am new to your channel, but I love your videos! They have helped me so much. I was wondering if you could look at my skincare routine, and let me know if it is good. I have oily but sensitive skin. I also struggle with blackheads and hyperpigmentation from acne scars. I do not breakout usually, but I get hormonal acne occasionally. I am also new to exfoliation and The Ordinary, so I wanted to make sure that I used mild products with lower concentrations. Thank you so much! AM: Cleanser, Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2%, Amino Acids +B5, Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%, Moisturizer, and Sunscreen PM: Cleanser, Amino Acids +B5, Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%, Lactic Acid 5% + HA, and Moisturizer Once my skin adjusts more to exfoliation, I would use the salicylic acid 2% solution at night in place of the lactic acid.
Hey there! Ok so for your morning routine it looks good! The Ordinary doesn't recommend to use Niacinamide with their vitamin c (just something to keep in mind). In theory studies have shown that you can use the two together but for some reason the Ordinary doesn't recommend it as it could cause skin flushing (redness). If you don't experience that then you are good to go!! I would tweak your night routine slightly... Use the Lactic acid first (after cleansing), then go in with the amino acids + b5, Niacinamide, moisturizer..
hi, i watch the videos of hyram and I bought the ordinary; can u Give me my skincare routine? im so confused with this products, i would appreciate it! Lactic acid5% Niacinamide Hyaluronic Natural Moisturizer Factor Glycolic acid Thank you so much!!

Yes you definitely can!!
Hey! I have acne scars and I am thinking of getting this. Would this be beneficial?
It depends on what type of acne scars you have.. If they are pinkish/brown areas then yes this will help to fade them..
Can you apply it after vitamin C? Thanks😊
I wouldn't suggest it. Direct acids paired with Vitamin C could be harsh and irritating on the skin.
Hey do you know how much Time I have to use it . Once a week or everyday ?
Btw love your videos 😉
Thank you!! It really depends on the individual as to how many times you want to use it and how sensitive your skin is to acids but once or twice a week is great!
Hi i just wanna ask…can use at the same time these lactic acid and argireline? Thanks in advance…
The Ordinary doesn't recommend using peptides (Argireline) with direct acids (lactic) as this can be a harsh pairing for some people.
I would try one of them for a week or two and then switch to the other one for a week or two and see how they perform on your skin and go from there😉
Do you leave this on your face and then layer your other products on top of it, or do you rinse it off after a few minutes?
Yes you definitely want to leave the Lactic Acid on your skin until you decide to wash your face next (eg: morning) It should also be the first product you apply before other serums and moisturizer. Lactic acid will gently exfoliate your skin.
When you put this on do you leave it all night
Yes. You don't want to wash it off.
Hi dear can i use it every night?
If your skin can tolerate it every night then yes but 1-2 times a week is sufficient.
Sincerely Miss Ash - I’ve been tretinoin for a year now. I love it! Have fun on your road trip - stay safe 😊💕😊
Thank you and you as well! Happy Thanksgiving 🥰
Sincerely Miss Ash Happy Thanksgiving!
GIRL! My road trip today was a success. I can't believe I found the SA Cleanser.. There was one left on the shelf so I guess I can call myself lucky lol!! Thought I would let you know 😉
What’s the difference 5% and 10% ?
5% is not as strong as the 10%
Am I able to use under eyes?
I personally wouldn't as the skin is so thin and delicate in that area..
The latic acid is a toner or serums?
It's pretty watery but it's not a toner nor a serum..
Hi can you use niod cais in the same routine as using retin-a? Thank you
I would keep them separate only because with the Ordinary Buffet + Copper Peptides it says not to use with direct acids and since this is also copper I would keep them separate in different routines.
Hello.) can u use buffet with retinol ?
I usually don't but yes you can as the Ordinary doesn't have any conflicts with the two..
@@SincerelyMissAsh thank you!!!!!!!!!!!! Your skin is great!
Thank you so much 🥰
does it peel?
No I haven't experienced that.
please tell is it helpful for hyperpigmentation
Yes it will help with hyperpigmentation especially with continuous use!
Can i use lactic acid 5% everyday ?
If your skin can tolerate to it then you could but you only need to exfoliate once or twice a week...
@@SincerelyMissAsh it's tolerating it pretty well. and helping my breakouts
Niacinamide and lactic can be combine?
yes
I love this lactic acidosis😊👍
Same😉
Sincerely Miss Ash can you do a clip about good setting sprays?🙏
AM: Cleanser, Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2%, Amino Acids +B5, Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%, Moisturizer, and Sunscreen
PM: Cleanser, Amino Acids +B5, Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%, Lactic Acid 5% + HA, and Moisturizer
Once my skin adjusts more to exfoliation, I would use the salicylic acid 2% solution at night in place of the lactic acid.
@@SincerelyMissAsh Thank you SO much! It means so much to me that you responded :)
