While he is a much more technically advanced player who is very impressive in the moment he is ultimately forgettable when it comes to what he himself creates whereas it's impossible to ignore anything Mick Mars has ever done with the Crue. Every riff is legendary and sticks with you.
John Lowery is by all accounts a good guy, and is obviously a talented guitarist who has proven himself time and again. That being said, I hope he hasn’t locked himself in with these guys long-term. Mick Mars was wise to retire, and given the things which have came to light….the tires on Motley’s machine are worn to the belts.

Okay, I will admit to being partial or biased towards John 5. He is my favorite guitarist and I would say he is a perfect pick for any band with a guitar part. In all reality I wish he would only focus on his solo career but I’m sure this gig pays better. Sorry to piss everyone off, I just really like John 5’s playing…

Always thought it was beyond lame how he uses a telecaster but then changes out all the parts that make a telecaster what it is!!! The body shape is ugly. It’s beyond me why he plays one. He should be playing a nice looking guitar that’s setup with the pickups and Floyd Rose he prefers on his guitars. I mean, Telecasters aren’t known as a guitar for rock or metal musicians, you’d never see a rock/metal musician playing a stock telecaster, the stock telecaster is better for country twang. Anytime you see someone playing rock/metal with a telecaster, they always have all the original pickups and the bridge removed and replaced with something that suits the style. Just seems ridiculous to me. It makes no sense at all. At least a Strat modded with humbuckers still looks good! Aka, Super Strat. And at least a super Strat still has the most important two single coil pickups that make a strat what it is.
He's fantastic with his band John 5 and the Creatures...incredible power trio....you should see his array of Teles.....one with lasers shooting out, another with antifreeze sloshing around....he's the metal master of the Tele!! 🤘

No one would believe my J5 story haha I was dirty as all get out from work. My band was opening for him. I walked backstage to change and he made room for me on the couch next to him. Asked me how my day was and wished me good luck. He didn't have his makeup on and I had no clue it was him! Once I realized it, he was already done with soundcheck and gone til showtime. I never saw him again but dangit. What an evening lmao
