I personally wouldn't go handheld unless i had a bigger heavier camera. It is just asking for jitters if using a small mirrorless. The old tripod, steady cam, give good alternatives to a gimbal. The biggest problem i see with gimbal use is, people don't know how to use them and keep them in pan follow and treat it as a camera that is handheld but stablised, so you get the same old boring shots. Using a gimbal with different lens and making use of the different follow functions you can get really different shots. Also try your gimbal on a monopod, this lets you rest and get high shots and low shots in an instant. Best to keep two cameras on stabilisation of some kind so you don't need to rebalance the gimbals.
