    I got a lot of do88 stuff for my volvo. They are always solid parts and fit well. The intercoolers are a work of art.

    Recently picked up a 2010 9-3, always loved SAABS, my friends and my awesome neighbor always had them. He drove from Maine to Hudson MA everyday for decades. He had a awesome 9000 CSE that he put 450k no issues. Great cars, I want one for everyone in my family.

    Hi there, Just came across you. I own a Saab 93 Aero V6 2.8 2008 wagon AWD and need a new radiator. Me and the mechanic have ordered 5 so far and they all come missing a tube on the lower left side. I just came across the D088 site and wondered if I should trust them that the radiator is the right one? You have any insight for me? I love my saab so much and it's only got 100k on it so I dont want to give up! Thx.

    I changed to all DO 88 hoses. I found after a heat cycle the clamps needed to tighten again or there are leaks. Get a hose removal tool

    If you take care of maintenance these engines are stellar performers! That being said....
    Heat soak is a given and a bypass pipe is a great solution - where it is legal.
    They run hot because of the idiotic "GM High Feature Engine" series design of putting the flaming-hot 1500 degree catalytic converter right on top of the engine compartment. This forced the also HOT turbo to be placed up there.
    This inferno sits between the battery & engine, and right above the transmission. The Heat shields help, but only so much.
    Great for winter warmups but means you have to keep up on Cooling System maintenance and tune ups.
    Cat temps increase if it is not running clean, leading to more heat soak on the surrounding components.
    Like I said: Keep up on the maintenance. These engines are worth it when the pedal hits the floor!!
    Lots of low end torque and all the benefits of a turbo engine.

    Hi. Just switched to do88 intercooler and radiator. Whereas I m very impressed by intercooler, I still puzzled by radiator. Overall temperature in the engine bay has increased. Also even if the car reaches its operating temperature much more faster, I found that the overall temp of the cylinder head and even air filter body and plastic cover of the engine are higher than before. But the temp controled by the gauge, by Obd Torque pro and direct testing on the expansion tank are all OK, ranging from 83 to 88 max. Thermostat opens at 85°C. Very very puzzling. Do you notice that. Last, idling is slightly higher and not that stable. At idling, engine warm, engine was smooth. This is no more the case. Any help welcome !

    coolats got anti corrosion substances in them when they are new but they degrade overtime and start to corrode parts.

    Auto Autopsy, did you notice any improvement in heat production from the engine?
    Even if the mod takes off a few degrees in the engine bay, I'd say it's worth it.

    • @AutoAutopsy

      in terms of temps? no different; they're just hoses

    can you reuse the radiator plug once removed or does the o ring and/or plug have to be replaced?

    • @AutoAutopsy
      @AutoAutopsy  3 года назад

      you shouldnt be fully removing the plug. it should only turn a bit before coolant comes out

    It's dex cool people say it's fix but I say bull dex cool eats engine parts over time. There was a class action lawsuit over it. My fix is change it once a year.

    • @AutoAutopsy
      @AutoAutopsy  5 лет назад +1

      I’ve actually changed it like 2-3 times already lol! I had to remove the expansion tank for the downpipe as well so I’ve already done it 😂

    • @ryabchik93
      @ryabchik93 5 лет назад

      It might be that you did the first coolant change on the engine after what, 8-9 years?
      The coolant is supposted to be changed every 2 years, or 5 years for longlife.
      Imagine stock coolant being there for additional 5-6 years. There’s no important additives left in the coolant and it just starts to corrode from the inside.

    • @AutoAutopsy

      I obviously can't speak for the previous owners on this, and its therefore not my fault.

    • @msanseverino78
      @msanseverino78 5 лет назад

      Auto Autopsy think it was the other owner. They tell people that it's maintenance free in new cars if it dex cool I say change it every year to be safe. It just more GM bs.
