He really loves them, and they know it (ever since he made that video message to them from the set of School of Rock). I love the looks on their faces when he walks out, and how Jimmy is beaming through the whole speech.
it's funny i never really thought of them as heavy metal, for a rock band they were so unbelievably eclectic, funk, country, folk, rock, pop, reggae, blues, samba, to name a few. The weren't just a rock band nor heavy metal, they were an education.
They are not every metal, & they hated being called a metal band. If they were a metal band, I’d hate them, yet they are my favorite band for around 50 years.
When Jack was making the movie, "School of Rock." he wanted a Zep song...but being the band that they are, they don't easily give out their songs. So Jack and the crew of the movie made a music video to give to Led Zeppelin to show why they needed to have one of their songs in the movie. after seeing the video they agreed. So just think how important of a moment this was for Jack Black to be able to say thank you at this level.
Franky Broadcast Its astonishing the satanic Backward masking messages in Stairway to Heaven.... Look at the list...these are clearly heard in reverse... "There is no escaping it" "The Lord turned me off" "My sweet Satan" "He will give us 666' "I live with Satan" and there is more... and there is even gnashing of teeth that can be heard backwards. (a reference to the Scripture in the Bible "there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth".) Surely, Plant knew about this backward masking....watch carefully when he sings "and you know sometimes words have two meanings" in the Live Concert Video (referring to the backward messages...and how deliberately Plant flips his two fingers back and forth to the audience....surely Plant knew... ) and Just look at their logo on the center of the album...an angel being cast out of Heaven! This is eery and supernatural in nature...how can someone create a song with the destiny of this song, and make it work forwards to reach the heights it has, and make sense forwards, yet still embed these complex Satanic messages. Yes, Satan is real. And so is the Lord Jesus Christ who came into the world to destroy the works of the devil and save sinners from the devil's blinding power and plans to kill, steal and destroy everyone in his path. Thank God that His mighty power is far greater than Satan, who is merely a fallen angel. One holy angel, at God's command, lays hold on the Devil, binds him in chains and throws him into the bottomless pit. Ultimately, Satan and his demons will be cast into the lake of fire and will be tormented day and night forever, along with all the wicked, and unbelievers. Repent, and seek the LORD people. Get a Bible...Ask God for mercy....follow hard after Jesus! He is worthy. His sheep will hear His voice, and follow Him. Are you one of His lost sheep? www.LifeChangingSermons.com is packed with Bible Reading and teaching.
Franky Broadcast That is why it has survived for almost 2000 years... That is why it uniquely does not flatter man. That is why it contains prophecy that has been fulfilled. Example: Psalm 22. Written over 100 years before Christ's birth...fulfilled in detail. I think you need to take the Bible seriously because it talks about your sins...your sins... your sins....that you know bind you....
@@classicjukebox a lot of things have survived for 2000 years and reciting verses is not an argument that will convince anyone god is real. i believe there is no right and wrong because we're the ones who came up with that idea, there is no god above who watches and judges us, there is only animals like us roaming the earth and we happen to be smarter than every species because we asked 'why?'. am i right? i don't know shit, but neither does anyone so it's best to admit that you have believes that could be wrong despite how strongly you believe in them.
Man, I could not believe the audience didn't roar with a huge cheer when Jack shouted, "BONZO!" I get the feeling there may have been more than a few in the crowd who had no idea who Bonzo was. Ouch, that hurts. Well, many in the crowd don't look like they have been educated much on THE ZEP. :(
Jack Black owns it. His walk to the microphone; that strut. How he did it was amazing. Two minutes. That's all it took, but boy did he represent. Funny as hell. Opinionated. Thematic. Everything he said, every word had great portent. Didn't Lincoln say it all in two minutes with "The Gettysburg Address?" Out of all his great comedic performances I think this was his finest moment.
Since Jack Black set a benchmark in presenting a short, sharp, witty, and engaging tribute like this, it is quite difficult for anyone to match it in years to come.
honestly.. i start to like led zeppelin because this speach .. that make me wonder how good this.. after zepphaton.. I sure this rock should be sound..truely legend..
Hey, guys. Jack Black made me do the Zeppathon. After hearing all of their songs, I can definitely say that a lot of songs that I have never heard before in comments are very good and I can agree that the entire zeppelin catalog is great. Thanks, Jack Black and youtube commenters!
John Paul, Robert, and Jimmie look so happy and healthy. Truly the "Kings of Rock"! I read the book when I was a young man in the USMC called "Hammer of the Gods". It was all about Led Zeppelin". The first 4 chapters were individually about each band member. Chapter 5 was when they became LED ZEPPELIN. The rest of the book was about them and their exploits and careers!! Awesome book.
this is really inspiring. And I say so because it inspired me to actually do a Zepathon. I went to the heavy metal Mecca and now I can be proud of being a rock’n’roll pilgrim.
I almost fell of my chair when he said the Zepathon. I still remember listening to all Zep albums in a row when I was 14 y/o. I always thought I was crazy for doing that, I guess I am not the only one.
"The Rock n Roll Hajj. Something every heavy metal fan must do once in their life time. The pilgrimage to Meccah." hearing this on Eid day just hits different.
It’s so fitting that the musicians played Immigrant Song for Jack Black’s introduction since it was the exact song that he had recorded a video request to the surviving members of Led Zeppelin to allow him to use in his film School Of Rock.
BEST BAND EVER.

Jack speaks the truth, so good they had him speak for Zep cos remember all the way back in School of Rock and in the behind the scenes you see the video of Jack pleading with Zep to let them use a song in the film and they did! Must be some mutual respect there.

Jack looked so happy giving that speech. He probably wanted to say that all his life.
BEST BAND EVER
He has been saying it all his life, just not on tv with Led Zep, Letterman and the President in the audience while getting an ovation for saying it.
True,,, this wasnt a typical speech, its simply what he always dreamt of saying to the band if he ever met them. A true fan
I wanted to like this comment, but could not becouse it would ruin the 666
haha no
he's not wrong
Jack Black; Best Tribute Speech, EVER.
Agree!
Facts!
It`s not the best speech in the world, it`s just a tribute.
Second after Mick Jagger's inducting beatles to rock n roll hall of fame.
I liked the comment but unliked again in an effort to go back to 666
*Jack Black got me inspired to do the Zep Marathon and honestly I can't thank him enough*
Me too. It was by far my best day in lockdown.
I do it every year on Bonzos bday. It’s wonderful
