@@mercyI_I Moonshine was the perfect boss to throw everyone off starting off with Chalice, but yeah I could see glums mechanics getting annoying. Lots of hard to see spots. Salt's first phase just got me steamed (much like your matchstick)
Yeah most people are saying that saltbaker was maybe a bit low which is fair he for sure is harder than moonshine mob I’m not sure why I put him so high like I really suck at this game lol but both of them took like 15 mins for me to beat so idk but u right

First time playing, Grim took an entire week and I almost quit playing because of how frustrating the final phase is. Now, I’ve grown to appreciate the friendly dragon, and beat him fourth try this time.
Now, other bosses like Cala Maria and Rumor were definitely testing my patience. Then Mortimer pushed me beyond my limits and is the only time I quit a game(I had my brother beat him because I just couldn’t have fun with the rest of the game till he was defeated). I thankfully redeemed myself by beating him on expert. Look that up, it’s a nightmare.
Did all three Grim phases mess you up or just the last?
Yeah grim is a straight up menace for me Cala Maria I somehow got really lucky and beat her like 4th try and than rumor also took almost 2 hours on stream I believe honestly pretty interesting I never found Mortimer to hard but that’s the cool thing about cuphead is that everyone has a different experience and yeah for me all the phases for grim we’re pretty tough but for me yeah the final phase was the biggest problem
Funny story, my brother and I were playing together on Cala Maria during my first run and I could only experience the first phase cause I died and he decided to unlock the avatar state and one try her.
But yeah, everyone has a different name experience with difficulty, which makes these rankings fun. I would recommend at least attempting expert on each, beating them or not, just to see the difference. It might even make the regular play throughs easier
Yeah I think I will for sure I’ve seen other people on the comments talk about an expert ranking so maybe that I’ve also thought about a shoot/charm ranking or maybe a run and gun ranking thou idk if people would like to see something like that lol

For cala Maria the boss is really ez just the amount of heath she has in her first fase kills me
I just beat all the bosses in the base game AND DLC including the secret boss I'm the dlc and man what a ride it was.

As someone who beat every boss on expert, I think Wally warbles is the hardest fight in the game. Simple mode: easy. Regular mode: easy. Expert: hell. This fight on expert is a nightmare! On the first phase, he shoots out a pattern of eggs that are still hard if you know what direction they go in. They go into 5 directions and it’s insane! Honestly the 2nd phase is do able. The third phase is just practice and getting in and out of his egg shield And the last phase is also very hard because of the amount of things on the screen. You need a lot of health for that last phase! I hate Wally! Chef saltbaker is almost as hard on expert but I won’t get too much in detail. It’s just the first and second phase that is hell!
Yeah I made a community poll and I think like 20 people voted for doing an expert version so I’m getting on that but now I’m very scared for Wally he was already difficult in regular I don’t want to know the horror of expert
@@mercyI_I actually now that I replayed it, Wally is 2nd or third. Chef saltbaker is the hardest to me on expert. Also I might have a little bit of advice for grim. I know you beat him already but on expert I recommend the charge or the lobber because these both do great damage and won’t always hit the fireballs. Charge might be better because it’s not rapid.

@@mercyI_I you’re welcome. If you struggle with chef saltbaker on expert than here are some tips. He will be attacking way more rapidly and probably the attack that hit me the most was the animal crackers on the first phase. I recommend using converge to get rim of them almost instantly. Obviously use crackshot to attack him. Parry anything when you are given the chance and use super art 2 as much as possible. And I won’t spoil the changes because trust me their are so much! But I will tell you phase 1 and 2 change dramatically in difficulty. At least for me. Phase 3 is still very easy as all they added is one extra blade saw and phase 4 does not really change. Also I forgot to say. PLEASE use mrs challice as she will save your life on that boss. Especially with her instant parry and her sheild pal ability.

Also, Some of these rankings are unfair, as you use chaser on these bosses, taking away the aiming part of the fights

Ehhh I guess but also chaser does much less damage so it is much more about dodging than aimming
and another thing, the chip falling in the final boss isn't actually rng, it goes from the leftmost platform to the rightmost platform, or the other way around

Nice list I honestly disagree that grim matchstick is the hardest boss in the game. The devil was the hardest. I would put grim matchstick with dr Kahls and Cala Maria, the easy bosses.
Fair I can see the devil being the hardest I think the devil and dr Kahl probably have the 2 hardest phase ones it’s also weird cause I put Cala maria higher than some bosses that took more attempts just cause I thought she looked pretty tough I just got lucky
@@mercyI_I Agreed Cala Maria took me a bit but i feel like she gets easier throughout the fight. Tip for Dr Kahl if You destroy the laser then the stomach then the chest it is pretty easy. Devil has a pretty hard 1st phase though
