Yeah. Air Ride definitely feels like a rough draft to something potentially amazing. The racing aspect could definitely use a balancing element, the abilities could really use improvement. The City Trial should be bigger and have multiple potential cities etc. If the changes are executed properly, it could be one of the best racing games ever imo. The premise is very unique...
Kirby planet robobot is a freaking gem of a game! So glad I have a physical copy of this game. So many good game modes. The amiibo that came out with this game are so dang adorable.
I got the game basically when it came out and it’s still my favorite Kirby game. I just love the Robobot suit because it adds some great gameplay to the game and the final boss is sick.
Controversial opinion time: While I haven't played Canvas Curse, I recently replayed Kirby and the Rainbow Curse and REALLY enjoyed it. It is the kind of game that was designed to be 100% completed, with the challenge mode, music player, and figurines being nice pallet cleaners between worlds. Learning to really master moving around with Kirby's dash as well as managing your paint was a highlight of the game for me. Not to say that it's flawless or anything (the repeating bosses are disappointing, the water levels aren't nearly as bad as he makes them out to be but Kirby's physics in currents certainly is, and some of the treasures in the game are frustrating), Kirby and the Rainbow Curse feels like the kind of game that I would want to learn in and out.
I thought playing this game co-op made it much more enjoyable. Waddle Dee and Kirby complement each other with what they can and can’t do so you don’t feel frustrated nearly as much. (The only problem is they didn’t bother to let Waddle Dee play in the Rocket mode)
Despite loving Forgotten Land so much, I have to say that my favorite Kirby game is Return to Dreamland. It's so fun to run through and see how the series has changed from them to now with the new game
Kirby 64s abilities are so unique and fun. I wish other installments would do something similar. Squeak squad has something similar but it's not the same.
It looks pretty nice but just like the original Luigi's Mansion they should've ported it to Switch. The switch was already out and the 3DS was nearing it's coffin. Nothing against the 3DS but they both could've been much better on Switch.
I feel betrayed that return to dream land is just at 8. It's the game with the most different abilities with the largest moveset for each ability. It was the beginning of Kirby games with a plot, a quite dark and in your face one. And I loved the wormhole levels for the collectable gears. You had to speedrun a level and then kill a boss
Canvas Curse is my favorite Kirby Game. Only one I’ve played that’s actually challenging and I find the mechanic interesting and challenging. And it’s been like 10 years, but I vaguely remember an interesting story.
11:16 I was just complaining about how similar Canvas Curse plays like Rainbow Curse, but after seeing that there are copy abilities in Canvas Curse, I can say that it's better.
1:03:11 I 100% agree with this one. Planet Robobot is my favorite Kirby game ever. Highlights from the game for me was definitely the bosses, final boss, this game’s Meta Knightmare, the true arena, robobot armor, and UFO.
The first ever Kirby game I played was superstars ultra, and I didn’t touch a Kirby game until the forgotten land. That doesn’t mean I hated Kirby but it meant that I wasn’t really into Kirby as a kid but now after playing the forgotten land, the series is amazing
for return to dreamland, it’s much harder co-op (would recommend) it’s a lot of yelling because someone could be going too fast or too slow and u have limited lives ALL TOGETHER which you share. good times!
I remember it being the first game I ever played, I didn't even realize you needed to collect batteries at the time. I would just call upon the characters so I'd have company the entire time. I also really loved the final boss, it just had such an amazing design. I'll have to find my gameboy again because this video's made me want to play it again.
So I grew up with Kirby's Pinball Land and really played a lot out of it as a kid. Honestly the most fun part was trying to go into the bonus levels and trying to rack up as much of a bonus as possible (and because you can get multipliers, those bonuses can become huge). I can definitely understand not being a fan of the pinball mechanics (nowadays I probably wouldn't enjoy it as much) but it definitely gave me some good times so my nostalgia points on that one are high.
14:56 For some reason, the Level Select music in Kirby & The Rainbow Curse makes me cry and I think that's because I remember having some really good memories with the Wii U.
It's cool to see Tilt and Tumble even get mentioned. I swear it feels like that game was lost to time. Bizarrely, it the only Kirby game I've ever owned and/or played for more that, like, an hour. I wasnt very good at games as a kid, but I, somehow, managed to beat it, so I'm proud of that.
Nice to see your return to your more classic content! All jokes aside, this is really well made and having every Kirby game ever is quite an achievement!
I watched the entire thing! I agree with planet Robobot being number 1 since I have so many memories with that game and that final boss is something special.
to me, return to dreamland (wii) was my first kirby game and i still play it to this day, but when i played kirby 64 for the first time, i fell in love with it right off the bat. the ambiance and the soundtrack is so godlike that everytime i play it, i keep thinking to myself "holy crap, i was born the same year when this was released"
I loved the Kirby series of games that you've uploaded your Ranking Every Kirby Game video, and you ranked every game in the series, including the newest Forgotten Land that I never played.
47:30 this is my fav Kirby game of all time. I loved the multiplayer/coop aspect and the phone mechanic. I loved trying to 100% this game when I was young.
im glad u mentioned kirby super star, i really grew up on that one. it was like the only game i'd ever play on our super nintendo. its probably one of the best kirby games so far
If I'm being honest, Kirby star allies was lacking everything Robobot and triple deluxe had: Unique abilities and 2.5D platforming. Robobot has the best abilities hands down, UFO and Mirror are OP, but too bad tornado wasn't in it, bell ability is also OP, and both games are well done with the 2.5D in every way, if Kirby star allies was like them, it might have been a better game (also they needed to stop handing us lives like its garbage in KSA too)
They hardly handed out more lives in star allies than usual, you just got to keep them forever instead of resetting to seven every time you turned it off
The only 2 Kirby games I have and have completed are Epic Yarn and Robobot. Yarn was always a good time as a kid but I find it a bit hard to return to these days, but the nostalgia is nice to look back at. I'm glad Robobot was is the only mainline game I actually owned as it was such a wonderful experience and it was very hard to put down. Maybe I'll do another run through it soon
Crystal shards on the n64 was and is one of my favorite games of all time. Soundtrack was slapping and the power up combination and tier system was so much fun to use. I think they even used some of those power ups in forgotten land. Namely one I've noticed is the fire bird attack, same attack from Crystal shards when you combined two or three fire style powerups
Imo if you want the most out of kirbys epic yarn you need to go for 100% it makes the levels much more challenging because you need to minimize your hits so you don't lose beads
My favorite has to be between Kirby: Planet Robobot and Kirby and the Forgotten Land. It's my favorite 2D platformer ever VS. my favorite 3D platformer ever, and it's legitimately hard to choose between them. For every strength I find about the former compared to the latter, I always find a strength the latter has compared to the former. I'm thinking of waiting until the recency bias fades before I truly choose between the two.
I agree, though after 100%ing Forgotten Land, I think Planet Robobot won in my eyes Robobot perfected the 2D Kirby formula, but I feel like the new 3d formula has much more potential to grow When they make a new game in the 3D format, I feel like it's definitely going to be better than Robobot
@@Elentrium that was difficult as heck dude. I love it for the difficulty because the satisfaction I got was so amazing I can’t even describe it. It’s like I had completed my mission after so many attempts.
Rainbow curse is one of my favorite Kirby games because at the time, I had never heard of canvas curse so I thought it was super original (now I know it’s not but it’s still top 5)
my first ever kirby game was super star ultra, and as i got older and explored other kirby games, i found that the only one that wasn't a MAJOR downgrade was amazing mirror, though the way it plays took a lot of adjusting to for me initially. i haven't played planet robobot yet, but after seeing it ranked the highest (in your opinion), im very excited to! ive always felt so let down by other kirby titles, and i didnt find out until recently that it only felt like that because my first kirby game was one of the overall best ones, so it set my expectations for the others way too high TT
I'm surprised that the combining ability from Kirby 64 wasn't re-used. Kirby 64 is my first Kirby game and I thought it was normal to combine abilities. I always felt the other games were less fun because of this. Like they were missing something.
They probably didn't reuse ability combos because they're kinda limiting from a developer standpoint. Not only do they have to keep the base ability count small to avoid bloating the number of combos to absurd degrees, but every combo in the game has to conceptually tie into those seven base abilities in some way (whereas in the other games, if they come up with a unique ability idea, they can toss it in without factoring in how it ties into the combinations). There's also the fact that with how many combos can result from just seven abilities, it's more difficult to develop each one's moveset and level design useage to their fullest extent (many of 64's combos were limited and/or not very useful).
@@C_Arson Star Allies had a good implementation though, restricting combinations to be effectively variants based on key elements, though it certainly could've been expanded further. It could also have been made to tie into the upgrade/evolution mechanic of Forgotten land by needing to find each combination scroll to craft too, similar to squeak squad.
@@sinteleon I actually like the Star Allies combos conceptually because they don't sacrifice the utility of each power, though their potential is limited by Star Allies's mostly simplistic design. However, I think most wouldn't count Star Allies as a return of 64's combo mechanic because it's so differently handled. If anything, it's an expansion on Squeak Squad's meager selection of elemental combos.
@@C_Arson Yes... but when I said it could be expanded further, I meant further than just elemental combinations, or rather, treat weapons and elements as combinable properties outright. (so also including weapon x weapon combinations and element x element combinations)
Dreamland 1 was my second Gameboy Game ever (after Tetris) and I loved it to bits. And about all the things you mentioned that it didn't have? It was the first Kirby game ever, the starting point each and every other Kirby game is based upon. Of Course it didn't have all the features that later games added. And the "less than an hour gameplay" you said? I made a habit of rushing through it in less than 15 mins ^^ When you bypass all the side rooms and distractions that's easily manageable :) EDIT: I totally forgot about the music. Green Greens, Castle Lololo, Floaty Islands, Bubbly Clouds and most of all the DeDeDe theme, all of the tunes you can find here are iconic to say the least. They have been remixed over and over and steadily extended and improved over the last 30 years.
Surprised to not see the Satelliview exclusive Kirby’s Toy Box on here, considering the inclusion of Kirby Slide. Other than that, great video as always
I’m loving Forgotten Land so far and would say it’s one of the best for sure, but my nostalgia for Super Star Ultra and Triple Deluxe is strong so not sure where it ranks among those two
Amazing video! Just what I was looking for! And I’ve been neglecting Planet Robot for no reason, definitely willing to try it now! I am a huge Amazing Mirror fan and so far it’s my favorite
Nightmare in Dreamland was my first Kirby-Game so it's one of my all time favorites! As well as The Amazing Mirror even tho I never managed to beat it thanks to the Metroidvania-ish gameplay xD got lost way to much. Squeak Squad is also one of my favorite as well as MassAttack and Epic Yarn. Atm however I'm very addicted to The Forgotten Lands! It's an amazing game!
My favorite Kirby game currently is Triple Deluxe. It’s just the most solid to me and does everything right and doesn’t have any major flaws. However Forgotten Land might change that. Also extra epic yarn should be a lot lower
I have only played Fighters 2 (which is a good time with friends) and Adventure. Kirby's Adventure was great, there were several times where I was surprised at how in-depth, creative, charming, or pretty something was. Compare this game to Super Mario Bros on the same console (not saying SMB is bad of course, but the step up in detail is crazy for being on the same hardware). The music is good, there were some challenging parts (ESPECIALLY Meta Knight on extra mode, like holy crap), and the game looks awesome. The only bad part is the lag, and there is a lot, but aside from that, it's a fun game. I look forward to playing more Kirby games!
It's unfortunate you disliked the 2 Kirby games where you have to draw lines to guide Kirby because I absolutely loved them. They were hard as hell though as far as 100% them goes and I died many times in the process.
use hammer for bossrushes, the Hammer Flip does 80 damage in KSSU and in that game u can spam the normal attack pretty fast, got me thru True Arena in 06:51.14

I agree, Rainbow curse is genuinely one of my favorite wii u games :>
I loved Canvas Curse ... just as I loved Pac&Roll ... I might be from the weird kind :P
I thought playing this game co-op made it much more enjoyable. Waddle Dee and Kirby complement each other with what they can and can’t do so you don’t feel frustrated nearly as much. (The only problem is they didn’t bother to let Waddle Dee play in the Rocket mode)
Kirby has been one of my favorite Nintendo franchises ever
Despite loving Forgotten Land so much, I have to say that my favorite Kirby game is Return to Dreamland. It's so fun to run through and see how the series has changed from them to now with the new game
Haven't tried Forgotten Land yet but Return to Dreamland is definitely a fantastic Kirby game
:]
Have you played Return to Dreamland Deluxe?
Kirby 64s abilities are so unique and fun. I wish other installments would do something similar. Squeak squad has something similar but it's not the same.
Kirby’s epic yarn was my childhood, when it was announced that they were remaking it for the 3DS I cried!
I never got it but it looks adorable! I would love it if it came to the switch
me too
It looks pretty nice but just like the original Luigi's Mansion they should've ported it to Switch. The switch was already out and the 3DS was nearing it's coffin. Nothing against the 3DS but they both could've been much better on Switch.
same, i love kirby epic yarn, it was my first kirby game, and I heard the 3ds version isn't that good and isn't worth the money.
Me too!!!
I was expecting Return to Dreamland and Triple deluxe to be higher. The final boss's on both of those games are pretty much just as good as robobot
@@AbsoluteSpecimen YES! Queen Sectonia and Magalor were so GREAT!
@@AbsoluteSpecimen I personally think Return to dreamland is better than Robobot, it started the era, it deserves more respect
yeah, in my opinion return to dreamland is way better than those two. I got rtdl and forgotten land as my 1st place
Susie is easily my favorite character in Kirby. Dark backstory, nice resolution by the end, adorable design, piloting a mech suit, she’s got it all.
That and she's still a rogue agent, so she could easily come back at any time be it friend or foe.
off topic but the last words halt hears before dieing is yippee
Now we wait for Nathaniel Bandy to release "Ranking every Nintendo Game"
18819. Chibi-Robo! Ziplash
Not made by Nintendo. Chibi-Robo! Is Really Good, But Nintendo Didn't Make Any Of Those Games.
Canvas Curse is my favorite Kirby Game. Only one I’ve played that’s actually challenging and I find the mechanic interesting and challenging. And it’s been like 10 years, but I vaguely remember an interesting story.
The fact that Kirby goes on a violent rampage over a slice of cake in Kirby Squeak Squad is hilarious!
The fact that you are ranking every Kirby game makes me think you’ll do the Legend of Zelda or Pokémon next. That’d be dope.
ranking every pokemon game would be really long
I think we all know what’s going at the bottom of the Zelda list
@@ihaveseenthings0 It’s surely going to be one of the three Legend of Zelda games that were on the infamous Phillips CDI.
If he ranks every Pokémon game then they’re be A LOT of dislikes.
@@darklightning2730 He said on the bottom of the list, not the top
Kirby mass attack has to be one of my favorite Kirby games as it brings me the most nostalgia and the mini games in it are so fun
fr
11:16 I was just complaining about how similar Canvas Curse plays like Rainbow Curse, but after seeing that there are copy abilities in Canvas Curse, I can say that it's better.
I was very pleased to see Dreamland 3 so high up the list, great art style and amazing soundtrack
Every time I get close to thinking that thinking that the channel is getting almost slightly stale a little bit, Nathaniel releases a video like this.
0:18 #37 kirby slide [puzzle]
0:55 #36 kirby's pinball land
2:29 #35 kirby tilt n tumble
4:31 #34 team kirby clash deluxe
6:37 #33 dedede drum dash deluxe
7:41 #32 kirbys dream land
8:25 #31 kirbys blowout blast
for return to dreamland, it’s much harder co-op (would recommend) it’s a lot of yelling because someone could be going too fast or too slow and u have limited lives ALL TOGETHER which you share. good times!
Kirby and the Amazing Mirror is my all time favourite. Lost countless hours playing that game as a kid. Music was top notch too.
I remember it being the first game I ever played, I didn't even realize you needed to collect batteries at the time. I would just call upon the characters so I'd have company the entire time. I also really loved the final boss, it just had such an amazing design. I'll have to find my gameboy again because this video's made me want to play it again.
Straight up bro!!
I love it when big RUclipsrs mention Kirby. Even if they just say his name I’m happy. So this video made me very happy
It is coming to NSO so there will be a playable way to play it.
Forgotten Land is one of the most delightful games I’ve played in a while.
Nice to see your return to your more classic content! All jokes aside, this is really well made and having every Kirby game ever is quite an achievement!
Especially with Forgotten Land already in it.
:-)
I watched the entire thing! I agree with planet Robobot being number 1 since I have so many memories with that game and that final boss is something special.
I can't belive you included Kirby Slide! You really are including every Kirby game (except the Japanese remake of Kirby Star Stacker).
I ate a block of cheese
Cheese
Congratulations
to me, return to dreamland (wii) was my first kirby game and i still play it to this day, but when i played kirby 64 for the first time, i fell in love with it right off the bat. the ambiance and the soundtrack is so godlike that everytime i play it, i keep thinking to myself "holy crap, i was born the same year when this was released"
It’s only been one day since you got your channel back and we already have an hour long video to enjoy! You rock Nathaniel!
My personal favorite will always be Triple Deluxe, Super Star Ultra and Mass Attack, just because I played those a lot as a kid.
Same
If I'm being honest, Kirby star allies was lacking everything Robobot and triple deluxe had: Unique abilities and 2.5D platforming. Robobot has the best abilities hands down, UFO and Mirror are OP, but too bad tornado wasn't in it, bell ability is also OP, and both games are well done with the 2.5D in every way, if Kirby star allies was like them, it might have been a better game (also they needed to stop handing us lives like its garbage in KSA too)
They hardly handed out more lives in star allies than usual, you just got to keep them forever instead of resetting to seven every time you turned it off
Also they don’t have the parts where you interact with the four ground, which was lame
Nice to have you back!
Kirby 64 is my fav kirby game, the atmosphere of it and how you truly need to 100% it to beat the final boss is awesome.
Also ability fusions
@turboshazed7370 that's my favorite part
Ice-skating was amazing, also the fridge 😂
The only 2 Kirby games I have and have completed are Epic Yarn and Robobot. Yarn was always a good time as a kid but I find it a bit hard to return to these days, but the nostalgia is nice to look back at. I'm glad Robobot was is the only mainline game I actually owned as it was such a wonderful experience and it was very hard to put down. Maybe I'll do another run through it soon
Got into Kirby after I decided to buy a GBA and Kirby Mirror… I LOVE THE SERIES
my fisrt kirby game was kirby's dream land
You should do a video where you rank every Kirby game.
Glad you've recovered from the Microstrategy hack.

“The fire engine puts out water”
Glad to see you’re coming back stronger than ever (microstrategy🤣)
His name is back on my screen
@@TreblePhoenix it was a joke about fake name the hackers used
Crystal shards on the n64 was and is one of my favorite games of all time. Soundtrack was slapping and the power up combination and tier system was so much fun to use. I think they even used some of those power ups in forgotten land. Namely one I've noticed is the fire bird attack, same attack from Crystal shards when you combined two or three fire style powerups
"The fire Engine puts out water," ah yes and the ground is made of ground.
I totally agree!! Is good to see someone giving planet robobot a deserved place 🎉
Amazing Mirror tops my list based on pure nostalgia. The amount of time that I put into that game on my SP is insane.
Glad you're back!cant wait to watch this
It has always been my favorite franchise!
I listen to the music periodically
me too
Seeing Kirby Planet Robobot at number one just makes me want to play it again.
For anybody interested in Kirby star stacker, the Japanese exclusive sequel is now on switch online!!!
I agree, though after 100%ing Forgotten Land, I think Planet Robobot won in my eyes
Robobot perfected the 2D Kirby formula, but I feel like the new 3d formula has much more potential to grow
When they make a new game in the 3D format, I feel like it's definitely going to be better than Robobot
robobot is fun to play, but then comes the arena ex…
For me it is Return to Dreamland and The Forgotten Land
@@Elentrium That’s one of the best parts of the game
@@Elentrium that was difficult as heck dude. I love it for the difficulty because the satisfaction I got was so amazing I can’t even describe it. It’s like I had completed my mission after so many attempts.
I was extremely surprised that forgotten land wasn’t number one, but I can tell you still enjoyed it a lot.
it's not I mean it's a fantastic game but it really doesn't need to be at the top of every list...
@@isleling5191 It doesn’t need to be at the top of every list, but it’s at the top of mine, I really enjoyed this one
He forgot one called Kirby curse where you become a ball and have to roll your way to the end of the levels
he did it 15:05
I'm surprised that the combining ability from Kirby 64 wasn't re-used. Kirby 64 is my first Kirby game and I thought it was normal to combine abilities. I always felt the other games were less fun because of this. Like they were missing something.
it sorta is with star allies, but still. :P
Glad to see you gave Kirby epic yarn the respect it deserves 👍🏻 that game was a big part of my childhood and I love it :)
Glad to see you recovered Bandy! Happy to see content from you again!
Hi, Cyan
I just started learning more about Kirby in my 20s and I’m sad I didn’t grow up playing his games now!
I made a habit of rushing through it in less than 15 mins ^^ When you bypass all the side rooms and distractions that's easily manageable :)
EDIT: I totally forgot about the music.
I’m loving Forgotten Land so far and would say it’s one of the best for sure, but my nostalgia for Super Star Ultra and Triple Deluxe is strong so not sure where it ranks among those two
Me too, except throw Kirby’s Epic yarn in there as well.
Amazing video! Just what I was looking for!
And I’ve been neglecting Planet Robot for no reason, definitely willing to try it now!
I am a huge Amazing Mirror fan and so far it’s my favorite
Kirby Tilt 'n Tumble should be a phone game with new boards being released, that's the best way to play I think
Him: Kirby star allies is easy.
The ultimate choice soul melter E X: are you sure about that?
use hammer for bossrushes, the Hammer Flip does 80 damage in KSSU and in that game u can spam the normal attack pretty fast, got me thru True Arena in 06:51.14
