Sylvie is the best character, in my opinion. I watch mostly for her storylines, Philippine always delivers her lines strongly.

Foe me she sounds...almost... absolutely native. Not British though...she speaks several languages. Her Italian is near perfect too. People who speak more languages always give a hint on that right when they speak.

She reminds me of a boss I had that was soooo tough, everyone either got fired or quit bc of her. I was the only one she ended up really liking. It was the exact thing that she said - she was able to be “motherly” and teach me things. 😂

Philippine is great in the role. The only character on the show whose wardrobe isn't that of a circus clown. She looks great in everything they put her in. Cool, modern, sexy and decontracte. Great style role model.

I love her personally, but I think many people missing the clue admiring her so much. She is not professional- choosing her lover over a professional and famous photographer for clients campaing, not to mention sleeping with Antoine and keeping the same contract without any rise. People may hate Madeline when she arrived to Paris and ruined everything but truth is Sylvie is far from professional and in my opinion- far from feminist as well, in fact I think opposite. I find her attitude like "women should use their grace&beauty to be in charge instead of men". In fact strong woman does not need any of this. Sylvie is a powerful woman, extremely interesting character and I adore her but I don't really think she is role model for women, sorry.

No one talks like Sylvie, in Europe, in real life. It’s considered rude. It’s an American perspective on what such a woman would be like. The American perspective is always exaggerated.
Philippines Au Revoir, at the end, was toned down. Multi lingual people tone down their accent based on the audience. It’s natural because they’re used to people not understanding them. They unconsciously or consciously neutralise their accent, to get the point across in an effective manner. This doesn’t mean that they change their accent. They just change the emphasis on enunciation or syllables. They’ll weaken the A, R, L or O in certain words. This confuses people who aren’t multi lingual. There’s a purpose behind it.
