    Nice. I like your idea for marking the center of the braces to which the roof panels affix. I start my assembly today on gravel as well and will definitely use that idea to maintain squareness. Good idea and great video. Thanks

    That drill is awesome! I love tools and I really like the old tools that built what has made this country. If you ever decide to adopt that beautiful drill please keep me in mind. I would love to have the pleasure of keeping it in the workplace and showing younger guys how simple and strong older tools are. Built to last, Not to fail!

    The biggest problem I see with this because I live in New England is how the roof is. The way it's designed the snow won't slide off the roof and snow is heavy I would want those panels turned 90% and have to install gutters on each side. Even then I question if it's strong enough without some cross bracing to last a winter without collapsing.

    • @JackOfAllTrades2022
      @JackOfAllTrades2022  Год назад

      Last winter we had some heavy snow, maybe up to 6 inches on the roof… held up pretty well. But in your case you could reinforce it somewhat. I forgot what the snow load is but I’m sure you could find out and look up the specs. Otherwise it’s been holding up pretty well. My only complaint is the condensation underneath and would drip on a car.

    • @NormStrauss

      Right on, in the process of installing one myself 12X24x9 knew these issues when I ordered it but with winter nearly here price and quick deliver over took common sense figuring I can reinforce it with metal studs and stock corrugated roofing panels from Home Depot.

      @igorz3600 I can stand up in the boat under the cover with no problem. And I'm 5ft 11. I'm not sure how tall it is in the center but definitely tall enough. I would have to measure. So far it's been holding up as it should, no leaks except depending on the weather it has condensation and drips, so you may want to cover your boat if you don't want it to drip on your boat.

    Been seriously thinking of doing the same right next to my 42’x60’ Morton Pole Barn. I plan to go with either 2- 20 footer’s or 2- 24 footers. Haven’t decided as of yet or what brand to go with. My question to you or anyone else that have installed one of these. Will the steel roof handle a snow load. I am not just talking about any snow that may land on it while snowing but also snow that may slide off the Pole Barn Steel Roof onto it being it will be sitting next too because those vinyl tarp type 10 x 20’ Canopy’s that most places sell for sure will collapse. Don’t ask me why. The other thing is I am 71 years old looking to do this job. Curious what it would cost me to have it installed? I am in New Jersey. I have no idea who to even call to get a estimate to see what that cost would be. Not afraid to tackle it myself but just curious what labor might be for someone else to do it.

I bought that one at Lowes, you might want to ask them if they install and check out the specs for the snow load. I’m sure you get lot more snow. It wasn’t hard to install. What I’m getting at, is that even with my back hurting, I was still able to do it. But I understand that at our age we shouldn’t even be on ladders. You might try looking for a handyman in your area. Marketplace on Facebook or Craigslist. A son or son in law? Grandkids? Younger brother? And you just guide them on how you want it done. Every time I hire someone, I’m right there making sure it’s done right ( my way). Or Angie’s List in your area. Wish I could help you more. Good luck, hope you find someone. Get recommendations from neighbors? Not easy, I know. I’m all alone myself, except for my wife and she’s older then me. She did help me carry the frame from the garage to the side of the house.
