    I found many westerners comments negatively here. They worry too much about the safety and hence bad mouse such innovation. I myself also dare not to try such thing right now. But I will not hesitate to give it a clap because I know one day I or the entire human race will benefit from this.

    I believe the best use for this device, at least in the beginning, is to serve as an ambulance..Of course it should be able to carry much more payload but I don't think it will be an issue for you guys to revise the design...Nice work.

    Dangerous now but what would make it a lot safer is a built in parachute system such as installed on many small planes. It was used once and saved the plane and pilot.

All kidding aside, this is an incredibly brave and innovative venture. I hope and wish the best for Ehang. Godspeed to you and well done! Let's go FAA, certify this craft.

    It's such an innovative product for sure, yeah the future is here indeed. Then Safety should be the highest priority when building such thing for human being transportation. The total automated control of the drone isn't a good idea either, so they should at least, as an aircraft add the ability to control the takeoff and the landing and leave the rest to the drone. But this is just the beginning hope they will implement it later, with improved battery life at an affordable price tag. :)

    This is only the first iteration of what the near future of autonomous flying looks like. What amazes me is the shallow comments of people incapable of perceiving the future of this vehicle. Reminds me of Niel Armstrong's negative comments about Elon Musk and look at what happened. I really wish Ehang all the very best and hope they can rapidly find a big player to partner with. They should make every effort to partner with the likes of BMW, Apple, Google, Tesla or even Uber! Uber has access to all the whiz kids at Carnegie Mellon Uni. If I were Ehang, I'd find a major player to partner with now.

    The Ehang 184 is our best hope for the personal manned flying drone/car. since its already built and does fly (although not officially) . The reason why this Chinese based outfit is so important is because theyre chinese based. If the Ehang 184 gets its full chinese aviation licesnses and approvals it would make the US look so behind the times. Granted here in the US the problem isnt building such a thing rather the problem is all the goverment/state and FAA regulation red tap that would get in the way. currently it takes no less than 12 years for a new aircraft to go thru all the red-tape tests protoypes etc before getting final approval for sales. look no further than the new Honda Jet and Cirrus Jet to see what process they had to go thru. And all that cost millions. its not a fast process at all. and thats the first and major problem. bottom line the Gov is terrified of the idea of the average person flying about in an aircraft. Much of it is purely racist as well. as those very same institutions have absolutely no problem with any white teenager getting a Jr. pilots licesnse and flying around in cessna 152's. But one do have to admit, its one thing people with cars, its another with people flying since any crash means falling to the ground or crashing into a building. still. i hope the day will come, i just think that day will be 30 years from now.

    • @ConorHildebrandt
      @ConorHildebrandt 8 лет назад +1

      +Nour Gaser well it's the principles are a helicopter. Although if you have engine failure in helicopter you can auto-rotate to safety etc etc. As soon as 1 set of rotors fail, the stability of that thing is gonna go out the window haha plus the fact that the rotors are literally right beside you is a little nerve racking.

    • @nourgaser6838
      @nourgaser6838 8 лет назад

      Conor Hildebrandt holy crap, I was just comparing it to helicopters. Flying a helicopter, you need a license and you are always trained for the best and know what to do in an emergency. On the other hand, if anything goes wrong with the drone... You're a goner.

    This vehicle seems impossible to me. And I think it is. A multi rotor is not a particularly efficient form of transportation so it needs either a new battery technology that is way better than the current by orders of magnitude or gigantic batteries that will end up increasing the device weight making efficiency drop even more. So, I'm not buying into this, way ahead of its time, once we have better batteries you will see dozens of devices as well as reputable manufacturers come up to the plate.

      +NAGIUXS of course they can get into it...they wouldn't of designed it that way and showed I off at ces if they couldn't and I agree the exposed rotors are stupid but the point is its not even meant for practical uses its meant for recreation and one of the benefits of this is it can fold up its arms and be stored in a garage and that tilt rotor design from avatar is silly the cabin would sway to much as it decelerated

    • @Runner50783

    Can you say "Helicopter"?

    • @gnexus75
      @gnexus75 8 лет назад +5

      Not the same. A helicopter's use of a single blade requires it to be larger and take up more space per payload requiring the need for more open space landing. This compact design would make it much easier to control and land in much tighter spaces. Also, four small blades requires less energy, takes less space and is less dangerous than one huge one.

    oh, asians .They can do anything.

  • @xad9057
    @xad9057 8 лет назад

    I doubt that will ever be allowed in Western skies; just getting in and out of that thing would be dangerous enough with the blades so low and during landing if a person comes close, they're going to get slice up into pieces.
    Landing on slightly uneven ground could easily shatter the blades and heck, what happens if there's already a micro-fracture in a blade that no one picks up and while in flight the flimsy looking blade shatters into pieces, how can it possibly land safely without going completely haywire? I doubt it's going to have a parachute attached, and besides, how many batteries can they add to that to get some decent flight time as the batteries are going to be far heavier than the person.
    Interesting concept though, just hate blades. I'd much rather have giant blades hidden in the centre that blow out powerful amounts of vent controlled air out of those 4 cross arms so that no blades are exposed, obviously not possible at the moment.

    And we are going to let them fly above us in a 500lb. plus arial machine. Let's not mention air traffic control systems and these things not smashing into each other.
    The FAA wants recreational and commercial users that have drones between .5-50 lbs. to register with them. And you all think this is a great idea. NO...A helicopter with a trained pilot is a good idea. This will not fly. But many investors will get scammed with this great idea. Sweet way to lose money and energy.
