We all love batches, but some of us just haven’t used them yet. Big batches, small batches, and every batch in between all begin and work roughly the same way. I’ll cover how to work with your actions to batch process RAW images and regular old JPEGs as well in this fast paced Photoshop CC tutorial.

Thanks. Maybe you should have started by explaining how to record actions though
This saved my life. I was using Bridge forever to do exactly this, but it stopped working overnight and I thought it was over for me whenever I had to process 600+ photos. Seeing this made my day. Thank you
Watched this 10 times and still have to come back every time I need to batch edit lmao
Is there a way to process psd- psds?
I see how the flattening works on jpegs, but any way to do it with other file types (PSD)
Great video, totally answered the question I had while trying to batch process a time lapse
perfect pace for experienced users. When I was using it I thought I needed to add the ".jpeg" extension manually which gave me false jpeg markers. removing that fixed my problems.
By far the best tutorial on this subject!
Just saved myself a lot of time with batch processing. Thank you very much for the tutorial.
Very helpful. I couldn't set it up properly and had problems with that. Glad I found this tutorial. Thanks!
Hey, I am having an issue where the batch is dropping rbg and reverts to greyscale. Ive followed several tutorials. Any ideas?
Thanks! that flatten image top at the end is what i needed!!!
Hello. Thank you for the tutorial. Followed your instructions to the "T". However, I have to click OK to save every single file once the action processes. Any idea what i could be doing wrong? Processing approx 100 files (not that makes a difference)
make sure you record a "save as" action while setting up the steps.
Found the download link for this action just below the video! Loaded into Photoshop so easily. Thanks so much!!!
I am missing something not explained here. Tried every step a dozen times. Cannot get this to work.
Would these work on photoshop elements ?
This is a really good feature, thank you for this video!
Great job on this....! I have a packet of actions to do to each file in the folder. How should I approach this?
Alan Bolyard Jr incloud. include all the things you want to apply to the files in one action and proceed as outbid explained.
yes but how do i make my own default actions without going through one of the presets??
I still use Bridge !!! I love it and it is much more better than the old versions .... why not ? What is wrong with it ?
Thank you for this tutorial! It helped me!
hi is it possible to change the background colour of image to white in bulk
eg. i need the resolution in 1100*1500 with background colour as white without stretching
Thank you from Vietnam for this video.
"Who uses adobe bridge" I've seen nearly all your videos and you used it ! :P, long time ago but you did!
awesome - have used this advice twice - but could only like once
Thank you VERY much , very helpful
Great Information, thanks man
Can I use this with DNG files
Works great for putting together Sets of Designs for Merch and the whole World of Print On Demand ;-) ... great book too!
Ok what am I doing wrong here. All I'm trying to do is open a bunch of JPEGs, select their white background with the magic wand tool, remove the background so that it is now transparent, and export the image as a PNG (so that the background is kept transparent). I want to batch process that. I was able to record the removal of the white background, but I can't record the exporting as png. I tried selecting the last step of the action, hit record, select "File>Export>Quick Export as PNG", which then prompts me to save the file somewhere, and then I stop the recording. But nothing is recorded.
Hi EPSTomcat11, well 2 things:
a. instead of using the magic wand, which live white pixels, use blend if method . make an action: create white layer beneath the image layer and blend if the image, use the upper bar that says "this layer". the result will be clean color. delete the bottom layer and you have a transparent background.
b. choose, file\ export\ save for web.... choose png 8 and your settings, and click save. chose destination folder, and click save again.
now when you Bach choose the action, your source folder, and from destination : choose save and close. override open and save should be off!
good luck.
where did u grt the actions
+Sportfanatic99 Included a link to download this action in the video description. I forgot to put it there when I first uploaded the video 👍
I just need to change the under exposure on about 150 photos. How do I do that easily. Thank you
Please help. Why does the action take place on both the original folder and the folder where I save the processed photos? What am I doing wrong when saving the action? Should I save a processed photo as "save" or "save as"? If I don't save it, then it asks me to save it in "Automate batch" for each individual photo...
Hey Nathaniel, thanks for doing these videos!
They might seem boring, but are very effective.
Question: the only thing I want to do with my images is export them to 1080x1080, no editing, but it seems like this can't be done with an action or batch processing. I've been exporting them one by one but there must be some better way, right?
If the images are already a square and simply need to be scaled down and saved to your hard drive. Use the Image Processor in Photoshop. It will work perfectly and save you a TON of time.
If the images are a more standard 2:3 rectangle shape, I would make a Photoshop action that crops any image to a square shape using the Crop Tool and then run the Image Processor and have Image Processor apply that action to whatever images you process. Either way, it can definitely be done without you having to work on each image individually!
tutvid Thank you very much for the detailed reply! I'll look up a video about the Image Processor and try that, should work fine then because they are already square. Thanks!
The last dialogue of Jpeg options, how can i make it to not appear at every image that is in the batch process? 😢
I'm getting the "save as" dialog with every image. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?
Same for me. What the point of batch processing when it's asking me to save the image.
@@EPSTomcat11 I am as well, did you configure it to stop asking about the jpeg for every image, is there something in the settings?

after the flatten image dont hit "stop recording" yet, save it first, then stop recording.
What do I do if the action I want is not listed in the pull-down? In previous versions you could write a script so 1, do this, 2, do that and so on. Worked like a charm. Still possible?
Exactly where my problem lies too. I want to batch process a portraiture and noise ware but, there isn't an option for those. Pls can anyone help?

Thank You!!
"Suppress File Options Dialogs" doesn't work for me, even when checked. Help!
Has anyone had the “save as”dialog popping for each picture? I have tried everything and nothing works. Help!
Im using PS2022 and dont have “ImageActions” as an option in the first dropdown so dont even get a colorgrade option in the 2nd dropdown beneath it I get stuff like “sepia”, “vignette” etc etc….Why?
Same problem and question. Spent 45 minutes trying to figure this out, then realized I need to create my own actions of download and/or pay for them. Back to Lightroom for now on this one! But I'll save this for future reference when I have time to learn how to record an action that will do what I need and want.
@@robertcurzon6085 ok, thanks!
May I ask what's the difference of using this instead of just using lightroom w/ presets? Thank you
if you're only gonna do color correction then lightroom will always be better for your workflow, but some people have photoshop in their workflow for all the things, including color correction. soo this is for those people, teaching them how to automate stuff
@@atyayati thank you!
Still shocked this has 3k Views. SMH! People sleep on how awesome your videos are.
Haha, thanks, Michael! It's a building process. Soon I'll get 50-100k each!! I'll remember you though! 🍻
Hey, yeah, thanks. Your video was how I wish ALL videos were almost. No fluff, to the point, professional while being detailed as well. Not all that fluffy ego unnecessary entertainment jazz. I don't like to even call it jazz because jazz is has world class. Great video to say the least. Thanks man!
THANKS!!
For me it asks every image about the jpg saving options
Put a save as action (by just saving the image somwhere) at the end of your action list and check "override action 'save as' command" in your batch window.
choose a folder destination and should work.
@@RELFIR thank you. had the same problem - will give this a try
@@RELFIR thank you, this solves the problem :)
thanks, that save as "action" part had me confused ... after just hearing u mention it i got what i was doing wrong .. sometimes u just have to have another person explain some things xD
Thank you
thank you for this tutorial
+mehdi lamaafar Thanks for the comment! Glad you enjoyed it!
WOW! Tudvid guy seem to be the accolades guy. Pls reply the most crucial questions people are asking.
Question:
On the drop down menu to select action, my opinion is not provided, what can I do to find my option(s) for selection???
love love love!
+ntstudio28 Thank you!
Great! thanks
Excellent. Thank you.
Thank you very much 😃
Tutvid guy. Why are you ignoring the most vital questions???
I only have default actions, how do I add the others?
He's not answering this critical question. No shame in acknowledging that you don't know.
@@lawrencegoji8149 I managed to do it but I don't remember how, I haven't used batches since. Don't hate on the guy, everyone has something else to do
@@haythamfpv Funny enough, everyone who raised the question, he didn't care to reply. Thanks anyways. I may have to figure it out one way or another.
There is no audio on this post
nice
It still qsks me about the quality of the jpeg for every single image.
To come around this i had to just save all images overwriting their original file in their original fouler
@@RosssRoyce same problem here
don't know if you already have the solution but you have to save it as jpeg in the action. and you have to choose jpeg as the extension, if its already on jpeg and you hit save it doesn't record that. Just add another layer before you hit record so the default file extension to save it in becomes psd. then hit record and save as jpeg, choose your quality settings (location doesn't matter). In the batch settings choose destination: folder and check the override action "save as" commands. Then all this stuff will work
Don't know what everyone's talking about being too fast. I had this on 1.5x speed and was fine! Very informative thank you.
You skipped the Record step....
You skip around alot, talk too fast for your directions and even in pausing and going step by step, this did not cover everything such as actions or why my screen doesn't present the same options as I'm not a Mac user. This did not work for me.
It's sort of a beautiful chaos method that I employ with most things. Sad to hear it didn't work out for you, though. The batch options are always changing and I may need to just update this tutorial as well 😀
I USE ADOBE BRIDGE IN CASE YOU WANTED TO KNOW
not all affects works
"it is really boring"
I'm here because I need to resize and save in correct resolution +100 photos for web xD
1:12 to skip all the plugs
My teacher Tim uses Adobe Bridge
Slow down
too slow
Jeepers ... slow down! This is a tutorial. People are trying to follow your instruction. ... and, then you talk so frigging fast your lecture get lost in your caffeinated hyperspeak. Ditch the uppers dude and try again. Just saying.
Far too fast for me. Sorry.
Nope. You're talking too fast and I'm clearly missing something.
This is way long-winded, get to the point already.
you talk way too quick and not at all helpful with the simple actions of creating a source folder....fail mate
Not very good video. sorry.
