The newest instalment of my Wizard101 series in which I am going to play through all the worlds and then rank them. There is some cut up funny and interesting gameplay moments along with some essay style analysis of each world. These videos take a REALLY long time to make, so if you enjoy please leave a like and subscribe for more videos like this one. AND ONTO, welp Azteca that sucks.
For me, you really hit the nail on the head about the staleness of the gameplay loop at this point in the game. I personally liked Zafaria for the visual progression of finding the students and getting a few astral upgrades, but I could not stand Avalon because nothing changes gear/spell wise.
It's the most popular world though, great story,theme, visuals and music.

You literally unlock mass prism, pierce blades, level 72 & 75 wintertusk spell quests and access to the loremaster crafted spells. lmao
honestly I agree with the sword of kings. the whole purpose of going to that world IS to get that sword because 'it's the only weapon you can use to defeat morganthe' and yet you get it and it's like, dog shit. not only do I wish they gave it the buff that you said (having it give at least some damage would be an improvement), I wish that if you used it during the morganthe fight, you get some sort of boost or bonus to something as once again THAT SWORD IS THE SOLE REASON OF GOING TO AVALON FBSDFHBDSYFBDFYDSBDS

avalon's aesthetic was wonderful but good god there are so many points in the world that made me feel like "aren't I supposed to be doing something actually important and trying to save the spiral once again for very little recognition?" like why am I breaking the news to ur tree father that ur marrying someone he doesn't like or whatever???? why can't u just... talk to ur dad. there are a lot of chunks in the main story that you can cut out and still make the world pretty good. I also totally agree about the sword of kings, but as a life main, I used that thing for a while because it's a really good healing wand. my gf who plays with me maybe used it for a day before going to the bazaar and getting something twice as good for ice.
Ya know for every school other than life, the sword of kings is terrible. But for life it's the BEST healing wand ever

That doesn’t stop Kingsisle from buffing older equipment… or in recent patches, nerfing them into irrelevancy.

Ain’t hard to tweak the game so the sword is good at the time for Morg, or atleast require it in use when battling

Just finished Avalon. It was a fun world! Monty Python references were appreciated.

They should really buff older gear.. sword of kings for its time was so good, but then mount olympus came and was like: yeah, this lvl 30+ wand will trump every other wand that isn't crowns up until lvl 100. It's saddening.
The sword of kings WAS decent, before they changed the critical and made getting crit stats practically pointless. Before, I used the sword because it gave me enough crit to actually get critical during fights. I needed it. Now it serves no purpose.
You know I just realized something...
You gather all these knights... Only for them to sit at a table while you go slay a dragon.
They're even upset about a broken table and make you fetch them a new one.

I just love how they kept Gamma's line about Morganthe hitting him with a Woolly Mammoth even though they removed that cheat from her fight at the end of Avalon!!! Anyways, I love Avalon for the comedic stupidity of so many of the characters in a gloomy second half. The first few zones, with all the Monty Python references and amazing music, are fantastic. But it kinda drops off from there for me.
idk about all of the other schools, but for life, the sword of kings gave 25% outgoing healing, and even as someone who's questing in Polaris now, I still keep it just in case I to do a lot of healing and absolutely no damage because other than the healing, it's terrible
life is the only school that has a useful sword of kings
Bro you’re SO right with the whole sword of kings thing. The ENTIRTY of Avalon is spent getting that goddamn sword, and every singlE NPC you go to gives you some bs side quest. I DON’T CARE THAT KERRY MUSTARDSEED IS TRAPPED IN SOME RANDOM TOWER, IM TRYING TO FIND SOME ALL INCOMPASING SWORD. Not to mention if an NPC doesn’t give you a side quest they’re just gonna tell you that in order to get the sword you have to do a thing that requires you to go to a place but the place that you have to go to is guarded by some random enemy and to defeat the enemy you have to go talk to this person who tells you to go collect three random pieces of bullshit. It’s a good premise, but for the love of god JUST GIVE ME THE SWORD

I agree on the sword of kings point. We should not be using a level 30 wand realistically past dragonspyre but KI doesnt want to make more options in terms of gear well let me rephrase that viable options

I quested through Avalon for the second time ever recently, I saw that when we defeated Sir Malory the Lady of the Lake took the Sword of Kings from him and it reminded me of that Smiling Friends clip right after they get kidnapped by a witch.

Idk how, but like I always end up fucking up dungeons and having to repeat them. Mooshu is a great example. Had to defeat the plague oni twice
