Still have questions about your prescription or the frames we mentioned? Let us know in the comments below!
Some of your links are now broken. Looks like most of them are still available but I had to search.
What about lense color gray vs brown for a high prescription? Is one better than the other?
I spoke to Tyler on the phone and he helped me get into a great frame that worked with my crazy prescription! He’s also one suave gentleman. Thanks Tyler! 👍
Yeah he is! That's why we love him! Thanks for sharing your experience with us!
Thanks for all your help Tyler with the Costa sunglasses. SportRx 👊🏼
What would be the ideal, if any, lense curvature of a sports frame with high rx? 4.5 degree?
thanks , great video I am also looking for a pair and I have -7.
you said not to go with wrap frame, but looks like Rudy's are kind of wrap no?
Do you have any women's high prescription sunglasses? Could be men's as well but looking for aviators specifically. Thicker frame at sides would work best to hide thickness of lenses. Thx!
Yes Tyler we like you.
Damn I have used glasses since I was a kid and have miss all this info
Do any of the frames mentioned, come in xs or close to size 49 or 48?
I really want some ray-ban clubmaster sunglasses my prescription is SPH +6.25 & +7.50 CYL -0.50 on both eyes & AXIS of 105 & 150 my Pupil distance is 61. Do you think it’s possible to get those frames with my prescription?
What about the Oakley Targetline? Do they work with a strong Rx? Also, what lenses would you recommend for someone who works outside as a landscaper in bright sunlight?
Yes, the Targetline works great with high rx. We recommend PRIZM Black for the best protection against the sun! You can reach out to one of our certified opticians here: www.sportrx.com/contact
Would they work for -5 cylinder? In Prizm?
Years ago, when my RX wasn't as strong (Somewhere in the +5.50 range for my left eye), I got Wiley X "Roamer" frames. I want wraparounds to keep the sun from sneaking in from the top and sides since I have a sensitivity to light. But now, thanks to diabetes damaging the retina in my left eye, I need to rely on my legally blind right eye. So the RX for that is now +11.25. They can't get an RX for the left eye because the spot in my vision doesn't allow me to see the big "E" on the eye chart clearly. So they just kept the RX for the left eye the same as what it was before the retina was damaged.
What frame would work with a +11.25, that would be close to a wraparound style?
Hi Joe! Unfortunately, there are no wraparound frame options that will support a Rx of that strength. In fact, most labs will have difficulty producing a lens above the +7.00 range. There are some specialty labs out there that may be able to accommodate, but an insert is almost definitely required. @@sportrxeyewear Would the Wiley X "BOSS" w/ adapter work? Or am I destined to use the rimless shades that fit over the PTX-1
My problem is trying to find something for a small size head. For example my hat size is 6 7/8 is all, yes I have a small head. What I’m looking for is a prescription sunglasses for fly fishing in rivers! Everything I see or find is way to big for me. I tried on the Smith Guides choice and it was way to big with the temple like and inch to long for me, so that will never work. Do you have any ideas for the ones with a smaller size heads? I would like the vary best lens for fishing! Any help would be appreciated, thanks Richard
Hi Richard! I would recommend the Costa Trevally or Maui Jim Stingray. Both frames are available in prescription and have great lenses for fishing. Check them out here: Costa Trevally: www.sportrx.com/costa-trevally.html and Maui Jim Stingray: www.sportrx.com/maui-jim-direct-frame-stingray.html. Thanks for tuning in!
is there any frames with curved style that will work with high prescription
That is a great (and tough to answer here) question! 'High prescriptions' come in many shapes/sizes, so the general answer is yes. I presume the underlying question you would want answered is more geared toward your prescription. For that answer, I will guide you to our friendly, knowledgeable opticians at 888-831-5817 where you can find more tailored assistance. Have your prescription info ready because they will need it!
Anyone know what glasses he is wearing? I like to get those. Thanks
He is wearing the Persol 3142-v. It has been discontinued but you can check out all the other Persol eyeglasses here: www.sportrx.com/shopby/brand-persol/product_type-eyeglasses.html
would the Oakley clifdens work for -3.50 cyl ? My left eye sucks!
You're in range! The Clifden can accommodate up to a -6.00 strength.
Would any of them work with a -13 ?
Check out the Rudy Project Exception frame: www.sportrx.com/rudy-project-exception-rx-insert.html
what frame do you recomender to high prescription soccer glasses?
Hey Daniel! Check out the WileyX Gamer, Progear Eyeguard, Rec Specs Morpheus, & the Rudy Project Horus. All of which hold stronger than average Rx strengths. For more information give our opticians a call who can review your prescription strength and make lens recommendations as well. 🔥

Is there an adjustment period when wearing new RX sunglasses?
That is a great question! There can absolutely be an adjustment period when wearing a new prescription. There can also be an adjustment period if you go into a more wrapped frame for the first time, depending on your prescription. There are certainly reasons that it is a good idea to give a new pair some time if they don't seem perfect immediately!
@@sportrxeyewear Thanks for the response.
So if I have normal prescription glasses, (Slhouette frames with an almost straight cut lens) that I wear everyday and the sunglasses as well, will my eyes eventually get used to wearing both Lens shapes.
I have an Astigmatism of -3.5
Love the videos, thanks again!
Could u do Oakley m2 video please
Thanks for the recommendation, Harry! In the meantime, you can always check out our blog: www.sportrx.com/blog/oakley-m2-frame-xl-review/
Ok thx
At what minus number does it start to become a problem ?
In other words what is considered "high" !
HI Michel! -4.00 total power is where most opticians consider a prescription as being 'strong'. BUT there's still alot we can do with a -4.00 as well as with much stronger Rx values.
@@sportrxeyewear Thanks.
What is considered "high rx"?
We hit on that a bit right here: ruclips.net/video/qg2_Tby0PTs/видео.html&t
Check it out! Also, know that we have opticians who would be happy to help you out with any Rx-related questions you may have! 888-831-5817
Another reason the wrap around glasses do not work with high prescriptions is that you get lash crash (eyelashes rubbing on the lenses) and the thickness of the lens hitting your cheeks, which is not comfy and causes the glasses to fog much easier!
Excellent point, Tim! Thanks for your expert guidance on the subject!
So size DOES matter. Sorry, I couldn't help myself. One day I will grow up.
