do you have a similar workaround for import as an access table as well?
Go To Data Tab under that Get Data -> Data bases -> select Access Data and connect the tables to get data into excel . That's it.

In MS Office 2010, unfortunately, this option is not available. However there is no support from even Microsoft on 2010 Now.

First of all thanks a lot for your video!
I would need to import data from google sheet into excel (as you have shown in the video). However before refreshing the excel sheet, I would need to see which excel cells will be modified due to this refresh. And then if I agree with the modification, then the excel sheet is refreshing.
Is it possible?

Thanks I tried to do the same on Excel 2013, it does not work. Is there a particular version of Excel this will work with.

You can use it from 2016 Version on wards. I have seen many were not able to use 2013. Thanks
Hi .... first of all, I want to thank you for sharing this video, it is of great help.
But I don't want to get the data from google sheet in a table format because the headers and formating all get weird when it gets exported in as a table, so I just want the data from google sheet as it is in excel. Is there a way to do that?
Once you have got googlesheet data into excel powerquery editor you can just remove the headers and that will be recorded in Power Query Editor thru Mquery. Going forwards your refresh will automatically will not consider the headers. Hope this is clear?

Is it possible to change the input sheet? I mean let's say I imported/connected like this a sheet named "Sheet 1", but I want to use "Sheet 2" - do I have to import that again and it will make a new sheet to excel?
yes you need to import the second sheet as well but only one time next time onwards refresh the connection is enough

Unfortunately no. Because in gogle sheets the code is not compatible with excel
I have been researching how to convert a Google Sheets file to Excel, and the simplest way I have found so far is to open the file in Google Sheets and click 'Download as Excel file'. If you want to edit in Excel you can then download a Chrome extension for Microsoft Office, which lets you edit the Excel file. This seems a lot simpler than the method you are describing. I just wanted to check - does this sound correct or have I missed something? Thanks!
Your me this is simpler.
But in my scenario. I made the connection between excel and google sheet permanent hence you will not be doing any thing in excel.
Whatever you add to google sheet will automatically gets updated.
With your approach you need to do everytime. Hope that makes clear.
@@vijay_ OK I think I understand what you're saying. But I discovered I was slightly mistaken about being able to edit in Excel using the Chrome extension on a Chromebook. Apparently Chrome OS comes with the Chrome/Office extension pre-installed, and this means that when you try to open an Excel file from Google Drive, it automatically opens for editing in Google Sheets, not the Microsoft Excel app. Have you any idea how to open/edit an Excel file in Excel from Google Drive, without the Chromebook automatically converting it to Google Sheets? The formatting is not correct when the document opens in Google Sheets, so I need to be able to open and edit it using the Microsoft Excel app (downloaded on a Chromebook). Many thanks!

You mean to say you want to store History as well , so you need to store the data in different sheets and bring them to Excel with the same workflow and keep updating

Hi, is there anyway to reference a cell? for example i publish 3 google sheets and have their links. i use vlookup to make a cell refer one of the google sheets link and excel draws data from that link being referred in vlookup?
You cannot directly link up with VLOOKUP.
First you need to bring the data to excel thru connection and then you can link the data!

If I publish it to web in sheets, it says: "Make your content visible to anyone by publishing it to the web" so - this data will be found by others? How? or does it still mean they need a link to see it?

@Tina , You can download entire sheet and then remove all other cells using Power Query Editor

You can change that you n Excel. Some times metadata doesn't travel to excel but you can set that in Excel.

No, only the Data can be pulled in to excel

you need to Go Data Tab in Excel and there you need to refresh, you must be refreshing in excel Sheet by right clicking . That is why you dont see any changes
