    SAN BLAS Islands ROCK. Have fun and hope the fly's stayed out through the canal. Coco's is cool even just to see how magical it looks in the middle of no where. Safe trip to all.

      Awen24 Ouch, Ben! I haven't had cake in months. Haha :) Thank you so much! It's been absolutely incredible - you'll have to come for a sail once we pull into Hobart :) send all my love to everyone at work!

      Annie Ford Hey Annie, hope you guys have a fantastic sail back to Aus. I remember sailing through the Panama Canal as a child (but on a liner). Its a bit cold back here in Hobart at the moment, was only 3 degrees as I walked into work. Have my own dreams of buying a yacht sometime and heading off across the seas. But until then, will continue to enjoy your travels and others doing the same sort of thing. Fair winds.

    How long did the refit take? Beautiful vessel. Seems like a telescopic camera pole would be handy. Excellent adventure. Best of luck.

    • @AnnieFord1
      @AnnieFord1  9 лет назад +3

      Conrad Green Hey Conrad! The refit took about 2 months, however we went a bit overboard with preparations! Awesome suggestion for photography equipment - what we have onboard is quite limited! I'll have a look into a pole :)

    Great to find another channel about sailing adventure! Would love to know how long you had to wait to transit the canal and how much it ended up costing in total. Can you share?

    • @AnnieFord1
      @AnnieFord1  9 лет назад +5

      averagejay2008 Hellooo! No problem at all :) We arrived on a Monday and transited on Wednesday/Thursday. We used Erick as an agent and it cost us around $1,400 US off the top of my head! I hope this helps :D

    what was going on with the flipped over sailboat at 2:08?

    • @AnnieFord1
      @AnnieFord1  9 лет назад +1

      +CoolAirVw During the night a solo sailor feel asleep and ran up onto the rocks :( all the gear was stolen off the yacht when he went to get help. He salvaged the mast/rigging, but that's all that was left. Our heart went out to him!

    Did you have to hire someone to prepare the boat and get through the canal? I've heard it's very expensive to navigate through, like around $3000.00........I would love to do that one day but now, I watch an envy you guys. Fair winds and God bless.....Johnny

    • @AnnieFord1
      @AnnieFord1  9 лет назад +3

      Hey +Johnny Wilson! We paid for an agent to arrange our passage through Panama Canal, it ultimately saved a lot of effort (and money)! His name was Erik :)

    I get that you're just starting out on RUclips and that obviously, the most important thing is that above all else you ENJOY making videos, but a small suggestion. Could you maybe try making some longer videos, around the ten minutes mark? Again just a suggestion but I would love to see more of your journey.

    Had a sailboat..now trawler slipped in Key West. Barvaria sailboats are great boats..almost entirely the boats used in Croatia..Germans make fine boats..but, six years of non-use means two things..."reasonable price"..and "alot of things need replacement.." All the best/Randall

    Annie Ford. Glue a small piece of furry fabric over the microphone and it will kill wind noise.
