  • On my Rocky Mountain Folding Bike tour day #2 I back track back to the Colorado national monument. I get lost trying to find the entrance to the park and finally find a campsite to bed down for the night. Lastly, I show off some of my gear I am using on this bicycle tour..

    Wow! Beautiful scenery up there. A bit like places in Utah. I live in Northern Utah, Brigham City. At 77 I've done my share of bike touring. If you stay positive and adapt, overcome, persevere things are easy. Also, wild camp. Cheaper and no people noise. // Double the wait time on freeze dried meals. 10 min? Wait 20 min.

    Excellent video Brian. When I toured Hawaii by Brompton I was able to fit my bike and all my stuff in my tiny one man tent. What a wonderful journey you are on. Small footprints are a good thing.

    For a Brompton you are able to buy a trailer with room for a folded Brompton and with Brompton size wheels. I did find a used version in an special trading site for used items, but I wasn't able/prepared to offer a reasonable prize for it. Finn. Denmark

    You could save so much weight with some good backpacking gear. Love the channel. I am picking up a used 1st gen forte today, largely based on your experience. I plan to drivetrain swap it.

    Hello Brian - I had a Zizzo Liberte for a while. I sold it. I have the 2023 Forte on order. Seems Zizzo is back - ordered on the Green Forte. I wanted to use it as an all-around bike like for commuting and bike packing. I figured that if I had that bike and it got damaged or stolen out of the back of the car, or something like that, it wouldn’t be a great financial loss compared to say having a Brommie, Verge P10, or BF stolen or damaged on a bike ride or outing. Some people have been breaking into cars and stealing stuff around here during daytime. “Smash and grabbers”. I’m sure being parked at a trailhead with your bike locked inside the car is even more a risk, especially if it is a good quality bicycle. My plan is to always bring the bicycle with me, but I may wish to leave it, and just take my backpack and go for a hike, without the bike - no rhyme intended 😊. - hence the reason for a good quality, budget friendly folding bike like the Zizzo.
    Could you tell me what Axiom rack you fitted on the rear of your 2023 Forte. I wanted to get that rack as well.
    Patrick 😊

    Lowering your tyre pressure is a good decision I think when going through off road especially road with lots of small pebbles.. Anyway, it's a good scenery out there..

    • @ibikeunfolded
      @ibikeunfolded  9 месяцев назад

      Well this road had lots of dips and road erosion so it made riding really rough. The air pressure would have helped…. I should have done that.🤷‍♂️ oh well next time I’ll remember maybe.

    I'm surprised the clerk didn't ask you to surrender your backpack or whatever bag before allowing you to shop. I've had them do that. You think authority goes to some people's heads? Great vid you did way more to that Forte than I ever would. I'll have to give Zizzo a second look.

      well You're an adult on a bike. You're an adult on a weird looking bike. You might think you can ride your weird bike through the store. You might use your weird looking bike as a weapon, rob the place and use the weird bike to escape. Get the drift? How does this guy handle people in wheelchairs?

    I personally don't see why it would be an issue with bringing a Folding bike inside a Convenient store especially if it isn't in the way or interfering with other shoppers. I was watching another bike touring video and in that video the, Restaurant person wouldn't let the bikers eat in the Restaurant.

    Hi Brian. It must have been easier to set up camp in daylight this time. When on the rough road you mentioned the Brompton being stronger but would it have felt rougher because it it only has 16 inch wheels?
    Incidentally did you mix the pasta before leaving it for 10 minutes because the hot water can sometimes sit on top of the dehydrated meals rather than soak in.

    • @ibikeunfolded
      @ibikeunfolded  9 месяцев назад +2

      Yes, I did stir the pasta…. I know I am no 5 star chef, but man…. I thought I could at least rehydrate food.. definitely much nicer setting up camp when the sun is still out… 😁👍
