@@ThePurringJournal Mine is a talker, more of a yeller actually, LOL. If I ignore him or don't let him do what he wants, he will deliberately do something naughty.
I currently have 6 males and 2 females. 4 of them - the females & 2 males - are a queen & survivors of her Fall 2021 litter (she was spayed after that - she was homeless until she was pregnant). Of the rest, 2 males are a bonded pair who were homeless & decided to take possession of my property. The other 2 males were adopted from rescues. The males are such characters! They're like overgrown children, and I constantly have to referee fights, settle disputes, and get them out of trouble their attitudes got them into. They're a bunch of little hot-heads! No one will back down from anyone else, but they're scared of the homeless cats I feed outside. They act all big & bad until something silly happens, like the doorknob squeaks, then they're big babies. They show little respect to the female cats, and I have to remind them I'm a female of my species, so they need to change those attitudes! They don't like for the other guys to see them getting their fur combed! They are hilariously sexist. I like to remind them that this girl can pick all of them up and carry them.
I adopted a senior male cat. He is much more affectionate than my previous female cats, and constantly vocalizes to me, although neutered. One weird thing he likes to do is sit in my shower. Yes, my shower. He will caterwaul until I let him in. He is amazing.
Our cats have been a mixed bag. For example, our only male cat right now was brought home with his sister 14 years ago. They were both kittens and raised very similarly. Turns out, Buckwheat has always been super independent. He would often go outside until morning (he's too old for that now), he hates strangers, and he is only affectionate with our family and a few people he's known his entire life. His sister, Biggie Smallz, is the opposite. She has always been like glue, following us all from room to room, demanding affection from everyone and anyone she can, and generally loving people. I also had a cat named Rizzo that used to get in spraying wars with Buckwheat because she was very dominant and cat aggressive. She was my shadow and would cry if she could hear me but wasn't with me. Rizzo was also extremely casual with people and generally very affectionate and tolerant. Honestly, it's not really a gender thing. It's just the individual cats themselves.
Hope you heal quickly so you can get home to him soon. My cat's name is Buddy too! Aka, Bubba, Bud(s), Fat Boy, etc. 😂 He's a big orange tabby and is definitely a Velcro kitty.
My cat Tiger-J likes to pat me with his left paw. When he was a kitten, he pooped by the door until I showed him the litter box. I had him fixed before he had the chance to start spraying. He also likes to bump his head under my hand to have me pet him.
I have 2, two year old brothers, A Grey Tabby named Samson And an Orange Tabby named Zeus. Zeus loves to jump on our shoulders and then lies down while we whisk him up or down the stars, all the while rubbing his head to your face.
For cats that wander for days or weeks at a time, don't always assume that they're roughing it. Lots of cats like adopting as many human families as they can and enjoying all the hospitality that is offered them.
My George, 9 year old and black-fured, does refute several of these. He live with my old female Cat, Penny, before she went to her rest, due to a tumor. George rules this house. He wraps around my feet when I watch tv -or sleep top of one my my arms at night. He speaks more when he gets meat food. During the night, he will walk me with paws and claw pats, and a pound "puurrrrr" and I have figured he is telling me no dry food or water, or his litter needs scooping - yeah, human has to obey, or I do get bites and scratches. We had only had Female Cats in our family, back into the 1960's, when Mom moved out from her parents. George has been a learning experience -he is very loyal, and fun, and proud. (and, no spraying!!!!
I learned something new (Fact #2). Always noticed female cats also raising their tails up and shaking them like spraying and neutered males still doing the same, but I never knew females and neutered males can spray.
My one orange cat Richard was the one who made it chaotic in a fun way around my house. Most importantly, he loves licking my wet hair when I get out of the shower. He has his territory at my house, the next door neighbor's and the one across the street. One day my old classmate spotted him from her window in the neighborhood and told me that he was roaming around. The way to spot him was his one ear.
Of the 3 male cats we had, 2 were left-pawed and one did not seem to favor either. None of our cats were very vocal except 1 female who earned her name, "Prissy." She was an abandoned cat who found her way to our home. Of the males, the others did not argue with our Moose-kitty, a very large and muscular ginger tabby. He was clearly the alpha. It is likely there were not many disagreements because we fix all cats who want a forever home.
Sorry for your loss, and please tell your kitty I'm sorry for his loss, also. Cats are much more loyal to their humans than they're given credit for. Before my mom was diagnosed with the cancer she died from, she adopted a kitten off my sister next door because I had moved back home. Then she got her cancer diagnosis; she passed about 2 years later, in early 2007. When she'd call from the hospital or dialysis, I'd always call our cat to the phone to listen to her. So after she died, for the rest of his life, another 12 years, he ran to the phone every time it rang - I couldn't help thinking he was hoping she was calling. He also napped in her room.
@@historianKelly Aww 💔❤ I believe he would be atleast hoping, I don't think they ever forget, my son got a kitten and at first I was like no, we have a dog, that little kitten is definitely sent from above ❤
Its 2am lol I have watched this video before but im watching again 😊 I love when my sons kitten comes and falls asleep next to me, he even lays at my feet and im like its cold down there , people might laugh but I care ❤ hes sitting in a draft , and he will stay there for about an hour, The first night he slept with me, he fell asleep, upside down on my hand, with his tummy showing. That night I woke up twice to see him just sitting watching me ❤ , and I actually play him cat music. Their right wee characters. Blessings
Our mediocre sense of smell can't detect pheromones, but the human body still produces them. That's why some cats seem obsessed with our feet or footwear. They're communicating with our scent!
I am kind of feeding a stray male tabby. We bonded over the summer. It has taken me a while to get him to stop biting me and attacking my arm when I am just trying to pet him. One day i got too close with my head and he attacked that. There has been blood shed on my part more than a few times but I still love my Fritzie. I want to catch him and have him neutered but at the same time I don't really want a full time cat because I am a senior. That plus I really can't afford to house and feed a big male cat. Honestly he has the appetite of a teenager. Thank God he only comes around once a week and spends two or three days here getting nice and fed then he takes off again. i know that one of these days he won't come around. That is my sorrow about the whole thing. if I had more money but as we all know things are tight these days.
So, does your male cat do any weird things? 🐈

My Cody takes washing my face very seriously. With his super rough tongue, enduring a full wash is a challenge. Ow! 😹
On a good side, you get a proper facial massage to keep your skin more healthy :-D
@lavdejeva9079 Oh, yes! And it only costs some dry and wet food. 😉

Male dogs mark their territory with urine too but no one ever calls dogs weird. Why is it only when cats do this stuff that people say it's weird?
My male cat is so quiet. The only time he meows is when he's high on catnip, that's the moment he graces me with ONE precious meow.
I learned something new (Fact #2). Always noticed female cats also raising their tails up and shaking them like spraying and neutered males still doing the same, but I never knew females and neutered males can spray.

It’s really interesting that a higher percentage of male cats over females are right-pawed! Love the channel ❤
I think it was the other way around....

My female is the loving one. That follows me.
its not weird if half of all cats on earth do it mate
lol.....true, hadnt thought of that
"Weird" is a relative term
it is because all cats are weird imo.
It's not strange; maybe it's all part of a big cat plan we just don’t know about!😊
