Razer Abyssus D.Va Review with Shape Analysis (Essential & Jugan VS V2)
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 14 авг 2024
- I wanted to go into deeper shape analysis on this mouse because I had heard so much about it and lately I've had a lot of questions regarding grip and why things matter. The original Abyssus still has a bit of a cult following and I can see why, there's a lot to like about it. However, there are definitely some things that I would change before I'd put it in the Top 10.
Still, if this is your kind of mouse, the performance is great, the comfort curves in the buttons feel amazing and it's a good looking, simple, very light weight mouse and should suit a lot of people with small and medium sized hands (basically under 19cm, depending on grip style).

Hey Zy long time no see! So happy to see another review come out. They're basically a little event for me. I grab a snack kick back and watch my favorite channel. Thanks for everything :)
its always a good day when zy uploads
Please @Razer keep producing this Abyssus with the exact same shape, I've been trying to look for mice for years and I've been waiting for this original Abyssus with a great sensor since almost 10 years and you made my dream come true.
7:58 WHAT.A.SHOT
Miiranga still... It's a pretty gr8 shot... ( 0 hours on this game )
Arman Gaming you're joking, right?
Well, he has been playing Quake for longer than I've been alive...
lol at Miiranga trying to seem cool
this sold me on the essential. i loved the original abyssus (played with it from 2012 - 2017) and i wasnt quite sure what sensor they used in the newer ones/how it would perform. im glad you made a review of the new versions so i can safely get myself my favourite mouse with some new bling :D
Dusty you can also try the asus sica which has a similar shape, 3310 sensor and you can easily replace the switches if they break
very true, but it only has the similar shape. i have owned one after my original abyssus broke (been trying mice ever since, atm im using a g203) and it just didnt feel quite right for me. though, i appreciate the answer, thanks! :D
Your reviews have so much detail really nice work thank you
Guessed you like the extra info in this one, glad to hear it, thanks!
top recommendation for 18x9cm hands mainly palm grip
Incredibly detailed review as always, how lucky people are to find your videos corresponding to the mice they might buy lol, they have literally all the pros and cons of the mice, and that's great, gg
I've been waiting so long for this video. Thanks for delivering and like always keep up the good work.
Razer should collaborate with you to make a mouse. Then I can die happy.
Well, it does have dva on it so it's marketed towards casual gamers.
Lol
rekt
what's dva?
MoHamsters ur joking right
IS THIS EASY MODE?!
Josh B look up a guy named poko
I'm dissapointed that razer didn't take the opportunity to bring back the old 2014 abyssus shape with sidebuttons, lighting, and better sensor, at least they have more than just the deathadder in their "esports ready" group.
Plus put comfort curves in the buttons like this one and yeah I'd probably use that myself.
Zoey yo dude i suppose u didnt see the New mamba elite, same senzor as Deathadder and 10g lighter with mamba extra features.
Exiled one I did, I'm definitely impressed with razer's decision making this past year. Like I said, razer finally has more than just the deathadder in their "esports ready" group, by that, I mean mice that have good sensors, shape, cable, etc. It's just that razer has made so many questionable decisions in the past, such as putting a laser sensor into the original razer mamba "tournament edition", as well as putting the same flawed sensor into the wireless lancehead (do you know how much I would pay for a wireless lancehead with an optical sensor?). I'm happy with razer's Basilisk, lancehead TE, Atheris, mamba elite, abyssus v2, etc.
Exiled one don’t buy the mamba elite, every copy a tried was defective so I just bought a finalmouse phantom
lmao FinalMouse is probably the worst build quality mouse out there right now. Just ask r/MouseReview. In the week after the launch, there are multiple complaints of scroll wheel issues (both editions), such as breaking, shitty feet, and shell creaking.
I’ve bought this mouse over 5 times. The right click will eventually stop working consistently after about 1.5 years of use. But I go back to it every time
Nice to hear someone has had exactly the same experience. I have had 5 of these including; original abyssus, this dva Edition and old named Jugan (same mouse but I guess marketed with that name in Asia) Always the right button fails and does not click properly anymore. Best mouse ever existed tho. Do you know any place anymore to buy these?
I‘ve been waiting for you to go on for a review of the Abyssus Essential Shape since I saw it was released. As a FK 2 user, this shape does really catch my attention and I kinda like it. Cool review!
I bought this purely because of the DVA aesthetics and i quite like the shape
Pretty much my reason to buy it. It looks ridiculous and I really like that, and I already have Razer DeathAdder Elite Overwatch. I use it as my laptop mouse, it is small enough for it and very good for workstation use on the road. Plus integrates nicely with Synapse.
I am still using the original abyssus from 2014 and it is still going strong for 4 years.
Your claim about button height is absolutely right. This is main reason why i switched from Deathadder Chroma to FK2. For me Chroma sensor is much better. But comfort of shape is more important then sensor perfomance.
The opposite for me, i gave my V2 away because i was used to the flat/high clicks of the original mirror abyssus made clicks to fast and easy. When mice are too downward, makes fingers feel odd to click. I guess you become used to what you use. The closest thing i found and i would say better for me was the G303 and the G-Pro/G102/203 versions. The flat sides make these grip/control better than the abyssus though and the g303 for precision is #1 but shit scroll and not the comfiest mice.
I would use the razer abyssus constantly if it had 2 side buttons. It was the first mouse I ever owned and I loved it, just needs them side buttons and it's perfect. I love the shape and feel, it's great for people with small hands like me.
7:57 fucking nutty bro, absolute monster
For me the D.Va's shape (i used the original abyssus, which had a different sensor) felt uncomfortable on the right side. My ring finger was right on the sharp edge. It wasn't really affecting my aim, but it was uncomfortable after hours of usage.
Keep in mind that i don't play quake, i play cs:go (global elite/FPL-C) and fortnite, which are slower paced shooters.
Btw i love razer products, but i've been using the Logitech g402 for ~2 years. This might affect the way i hold the mouse.
Hey Zy you should do a throwback review on the Razer Boomslang, it was Razers first mouse and I would like to see a comparison between then and now.
Dude! Great review, made me get my tape out! I'm using a Razer Salmosa asia pro gaming edition, just a spare mouse my dad had kicking around and i only recently realized what a find it is! I love how light it is, and the height to finger tip groove is under 2cm! Today I learn't i'm a finger grip type, never considered all these different angles, interesting stuff! Cheers
Your voice is sooo smooth
I've been waiting for this review. Thank you!
Great review! I think having a button height a little higher has some benefits. In my opinion, it makes you think the mouse is bigger, kind of more comfortable, even though is small and easy to move. I think the perfect mouse should be small but feel big.
Greetings from Argentina!
Are you going to review DM1 FPS? ;)
Your reviews are on point...
ayyy a review! Always love your videos, keep up the good work!
MOUSE GOD ZY. Always honest, love your opinions and your videos.
Your videos are always super interesting and helpful. I finally bought my first gaming mouse which is the logitech g102 and I'm so satisfied! Because of your review of g102. I decided.
The D.Va mouse is adorable, you get used to the shape, no mouse is perfect
A refresh of the Taipan and Krait will be a great alternatives for Abyssuss and Jugan, with 3389 of course. :)
Hey Zy, can you do a comparison with the ultralight and the fk1?
What is the default dpi without installing drivers ???
Great vid as always mate!
Thanks Noodles!
ive already chosen the mouse im going to buy but your videos are just so entertaining i cant stop watching them even tho i dont need to :)
im getting the steelseries rival 300 btw
Good work with the lines!
I have this mouse and have loved it for a year or two but the scroll wheel has worn down, the grip can sometimes move independent of the wheel and cause it not to register scrolling. Otherwise, fabulous mouse
also can confirm i have no lense rattle on my copy
Any chance you are gonna review the dm1 FPS?
Bossking I'm sure he will, its still new so he probably still has to test it. I'm waiting for the video too
I bought the Razer Mamba Elite and it has like 5 different spots of rattling when I shake the thing; I was scared to death I had sensor rattle. Upon heavy shaking and taping down pieces to stop the rattling, I've found that there are a ton of parts that can rattle, namely those plastic grills on the front of the mouse. I dont have sensor rattle, just everything else has the tiniest amount of wiggle room and needs to be reglued together. Make sure your rattle isnt cause by some loose cosmetic plastic bit!
great review keep up the good work zy :D
Btw Zy, you still haven't yet experimented on either rising your chair or lowering your desk height, because it's a deciding factor for button height preference. If players rise their arm more then preferably they would use low height button mice such as the FK, ZA, Revel, etc. , if their arm isn't raised too far from their lap then they would love these high button mice like the EC, Abyssus, Kone and so on
anything similiar to Logitech B100, M100, or even G100 are prefect for me.
my right hand is built by legendary people's pocket Logitech B100.
i'm considering my present G403 to G Pro, but i couldn't bear losing to G102 scam defectives product third time...
Actually, in my opinion, the shape depends on the grip styles of every user, and the what the users might like or dislike would be all different.
I am currently using this mouse and this fits my hand a lot. I actually like it.
awesome review just what i was looking for
I should really paint my IntelliMouse Explorer 3.0 in white and cyan and do the "Mei" edition.
Speaking about Intellimouse, will you get an IntelliMouse 3.0 and a 1.1a with MLT04 and compare them to modern mice? If you get them be sure to overclock the polling rate to 500hz/1000hz with Hidusbf.
epic mouse for epic gamers
Such a shame this mouse didn't came out a year ago, when I was looking for a new mouse. It seems a bit small for my hand size/grip style but it's still interesting.
Gaius Trollius you could have tried the asus sica. Similar shape, 3310 sensor and the possibility to change easily the switches if they break
If I can remember when I tested the shape of the Logitec G403, I didn't liked because the buttons were too high, but you didn't complained about that mouse on that matter.
One is ergo one is ambidextrous. That's the important difference I think
The original 3.5G abyssus is better, the 3.5g sensor is still good and its lighter at almost 70g.
Great video Zy. On an unrelated note could you help me out with some headphones? I saw the steelseries arctis pro wireless and I love the look of them, the dual battery and all the other features. I also know that you use them as your primary headset. My question is, I don't actually need the mic attached to them as I use a snowball, so am I better off getting a proper pair of headphones (not a headset) even though I will be using them for gaming? e.g ATHDSR7BT. Do you use the mic on your ones or the same as me, solely for listening? Thanks.
Add side buttons, remove that elevated base and there, you have a great mouse.
Isn't it basically the Abyssus 1800 shape?
Haven't used or touched the Abyss before but the shape of the D.Va looks closer to the Diamondback? At least, from what I can see from the video.
I really like the shape, but there are a few issues
It's a Razer product
Jhet_writes lul
Jhet_writes take a look at the asus sica
Jhet_writes wut re y Razercist
asus sica shit mouse
@@Aetheriall tbh I also think ROG stuff is shit, except their laptops and monitors, those are great. But everything else is overpriced, overhyped shit
Still the best mouse ever for me. being an Abyssus user for years and found nothing beating it over more than 50 mice I got.
You use the v2? I have like 10 mice right now and ordered a v2 after gripping my friend's v2.
Not only can you easily rock it, it drags like hell just if you tilt it a bit - the ledge easily digs into the pad. A complete deal-breaker to be honest. I've also had an issue with the long buttons - because of the way I hold my fingers on it, right mouse button kept getting pressed just because of the way I grip it in certain situations. Never had anything like that happen with any other mouse.
I guess I had a pretty strange experience with mice,I used to main ergo mice and palm grip like ec2b divina and others but i sent it back because it was to small for my 19.5x9.5 hand and I planned to get a model D. I have a razer abyssus essential which is another planet compared to an ec2 shape but you know what? This thing makes my aim crazy but it doesn't have any side button plus i don't like the lod being too high but not such a bad deal. Anyway the sensor seems good but i'd like to get something better and the lack of side buttons really tilts me. Talking about my grip it naturally changed from a palm grip (with the ec2) to hybrid claw palm grip (atleast I guess idk how to describe that grip) while keeping my ring finger and my pinkie completely straight,I guess I can adapt my grip to the mouse I have. Which one would you reccomend between xm1,model o,mm710 or gwolves hati? I'd like to keep my mouse as narrow as possible because I guess that's the reason my aim is improved
This mouse is surprisingly good.
Yes! I asked for this video on discord!
This actually looks like a smaller Lachesis without the side buttons lol.
I have a question, maybe someone can help me out. I'm currently using a Log. G Pro and a G640 Pad, I also have a G440 Plastic Pad and a Zowie FK2. Regardless of mouse or surface, I have strange tracking issues. If I do very small movements with my mouse, my cursor won’t move at all on the screen. I basically can’t aim precisely with an AWP in CS. I can’t track pixel by pixel. I literally have 8 Mousepads here, and 3 different gaming mice, the problem is always the same. It drives me nuts. I re-installed Windows 10, mouse Accel is off, 800-1000DPI and 500/1000hz polling rate, issue is still the same. Meanwhile I have a totally different Mainboard etc. so it’s Not an USB or BIOS Problem. It drives me insane that I can’t track pixel by pixel. It almost feels like angle snapping, since when the mouse starts tracking, the cursor is rather moving in a square pattern then tracking each pixel. I would pay 20dollars to the person who can resolve my problem, honestly.....
Dont they also have the razer D.Va Headset? Also have you played OW in a while?
NateHera2k lol yeah it dosent look too comfortable
Razer has a D.Va themed keyboard too
NateHera2k quick buck is what they are after! They are already making a profit with their abyssus/blackwidow/whatever the model of the headset is. Slap in a dva theme and they can charge more for them.
Just did a Google search and the pink blackwidow keyboard is not dva themed. Razer only have headphones, mouse and a mousepad that is dva themed. My bad!
NateHera2k yep I know, point I was making was Razer was making quick buck from the product by slapping in the DVa brand and they don't really need to care about the quality of the product in terms of sound and comfort
Love how Razer made a mouse for overwatch and yet you cant even run the game when Razer synapse is running for some reason ;)
thats just you
Jack H I believe not, blizzard said that programs are not compatabale on some forums. Does it work for you?
Overwatch runs fine for me with Synapse on. Synapse has a ton of problems, but that's not one of them.
Paweł Czarkowski I geuss it's different for everyone, in my case when my synapse is on and when I try to run overwatch it doesn't even start it just shows some kind of black screen and crashes.
Spike it drops frames sometimes when i have synapse on. So i turn it off but the overwatch rgb profile on my razer keyboard stays on, how so?
I would love to be able to test out the array of mice you have but i just dont have the money. Every mouse ive bought in the past hasnt felt quite right and i just feel like im wasting my money on an obsession now.
Hey. I have a little question, should I buy razer DA ELITE or roccat kone pure military edition. I have used DA elite before and I loved it but I am so intrigued by the roccat's shape that I really want to try that. So what should I do. Buy elite or roccat.
Mine was fine love this mouse
Cheers your channel is kind of essential for me, Can you try Artisan Hien Mousepad and Lenovo Legion Mouse?
I'll try to check out Artisan when I get time. Maybe not Lenovo though. Thanks!
Ty zy, can i ask you what is the most fast paced action shooter arena that you ever played?
Good review !
Would get a lot more sales with side buttons
You should test the new Xiaomi gaming mouse, seems to have everything for a competitive price
I really enjoy your reviews but I feel like you're missing out on a few things when talking about shape because you base your expertise on your own palm grip only.
Ive had quite a few mice in hand, and using fingertip myself Ive come to disagree completely about your notion of safe shape quite often.
Sometimes a 'bulge' like the one on the mouse here will feel great for someone with a different grip than you. For me it fits perfectly for my thumb, which makes the shape you call not safe much better.
Is the Razer Deathadder Essential any different to the 2013 version, or did they just give it a new name?
I don't see a mouse without thumb buttons being practical with modern day PC gaming. If want a good gaming mouse the Razer deathadder elite and the HyperX pulsefire surge are both great options, but i just don't see this mouse being practical, especially for a game like overwatch.
I think you should check out KovaaK's aim trainer.
Fk2 still best mouse? I have g303 but want a change.. ive had g303 over 2 years now
idk if it's the mic you used or what but he button clicks sound extra crisp
Same mic and everything, just really crisp clicks on the mouse.
I tried the abyssus lite at a store here in Brazil, felt so good in my hands. And I have Very Big hands, kind of weird
shoulda played d.va in overwatch trying this...
Ur vids are soo good
If that thing had side buttons, i would buy it instantly.
Cant believe you didnt mention all the problems with synapse... let alone the price/quality of this mouse...
What issues have you been having?
Mine are basically what I mentioned and some times having Razer Chroma enabled or disabled in games doesn't work properly and gets annoying when you can't just disable it completely.
dva ult the best!
It would make me really happy to see a pro player use this in a tournament 😂
van you please review the Logitech g602 , i know that its an old mouse but its currently on sale now and i want a solid wireless gaming mouse for my laptop . thanks in advance
there are dpi steps but i'm not seeing any dpi buttons, am i missing something?
u deserve more subs
Zy, do you recommend using surface calibration on a razer deathadder chroma?
Is't ir razer abysus 1st?
Have you done a review on the ROCCAT Kone AIMO
will you review the new hyperx mouse soon?
similar shape issues with the ultralight
Zy what mousepad youre using right now?
RJN how do u keep ur mousepad clean? Mine always feels greasy and oily
Help
relog he has a film about it check it out
Can you review the new HyperX Pulsefire FPS Pro please?
Hey Zy,
Can you recommend me mice for my hand size?
I'm roughly 15.5-15.7 cm from the tip of my middle finger all the way to my wrist line. (I'm young)
I have a Logitech g403 and it's great, but I feel like a little smaller and a little lighter (optional) mouse would be perfect for me.
Thanks in advance.
I don't think there's many, if any ergonomically shaped mice smaller than the g403. Maybe the ec2a is. Mice like the fk2 and za13 are quite a bit smaller but not ergo shaped. I suggest going to his website and checking it out there. He has hand size guides.
Maybe the roccat KPOE? Worth a look aswell
Hello Zy! Waiting for your review of the new HyperX Pulsefire FPS Pro.
It will be a little while. It's basically the same as the previous version so it'll just be a comparison video.
I use this mouse and I have 25x12 cm hands in palm grip
Lol hi superman
What is (in your opinion) the best mouse for FPS games at the moment ? Thank You
Swiftcold the most important thing is the shape and if you feel comfortable with it since now there are a lot of mice with top sensors
