- We had the craziest monsoon thunderstorm roll through last night! It washed our street out with a flash flood! I made it off my property and out to the Goodwill for a little thrifting! Come thrift with me and see what I found!

Danni, John Romain purses of the 1960's were the IT preppy brand designer purse all the popular girls carried. Expensive, and before the designer purses of today were accessible.
Mine was tweed with burgundy leather trim, and a smaller, straw one with blue leather trim (only because the burgundy trim one was sold out). It went along perfectly with our dress code at school, and our wool mini skirts, and sweater sets of the late 60's.
Later, Romain's popularity was replaced by Etienne Aigner brand leather purses of the early 1970's.
Both Italian leather made, Aigner with more of an equestrian style burgundy leather, some straw and Nantucket basket style purses, and burgundy leather wallets, and brass accents. Beautiful, and I still have all mine!
Very prestigious for girls to own back then if you were in Jr. High and High School. (Today, their quality seems to be mass produced and more affordable. The styles have changed.)
You had to finish off the preppy look with the bowed flat or buttoned toe flat Pappagallo's, the IN Italian shoes that came in all colors!
All worn with a wide burgundy leather belt with a large brass buckle to wear with all your wool skirts and tucked in white buttoned down shirt and sweater.
So, I guess you could say that John Romain purses were the precursor, the beginning of the craze of young girls today to own designer purses like Gucci and Louis Vuitton, which I am sure the elites of the world have always owned.

Hello Danni, I could be wrong; but I believe at 19:00, I saw two clear items with the same kind of stem as the Orrefors. I could be wrong, they were on the shelf above the bottom shelf.😊. Fortunately those were something different - champagne glasses with the year 2000 as the stem!

Went to Salvation Army today and found a beautiful Waterford 8” crystal bowl in perfect condition for $1.99!!!

Take my advice; when you can afford to, invest in a 4 WD truck, because it f it floods like that once, its gonna flood again; El Nino said is making some weather patterns change.

I had a John Romaine back in the day. It was expensive back in the 70's. I loved it and had all my high school friends drooling. It was like a sit down bag and had hand held handles. Oh that brings me back Danni, thank you.
Have you considered getting your inventory under control before you do any more shopping? I am not trying to fault you but if it were me, I think I would want to get a handle on what I have on hand at the current time.

FYI: For your next project, pick up inexpensive “vintage inspired” small clocks. I have seen crafters take out the clock and make a little whimsical fairy scene inside. It’s the cutest thing! To see examples (when you get freed up) look up Liyana.

I used to have a pair of those alabaster doves, they eventually end up in the trash, because they were broken over time. Btw, you are supposed to actually clean them with milk.
