Watched this video in 2 sittings (due to limited time today). I really want to watch (and sometimes rewatch) each video to learn as much as I can. I enjoy seeing the treasures from each stop you make on your travels… I may not remember all the names of the manufactures… but when I find some special thing(s), then I may remember the image seen in one of your videos. Thank you!
That's great! I'm glad to help. You can generally search items by name when you do remember, RUclips is pretty good about sorting anything I write in a description
@@TheAntiqueNomad do you mean that I go to your channel and use the search button? Do I enter the manufacturer’s name under search? Does RUclips pulls up all your previous videos where that manufacture name shows up in CC (does it take you to the time-point within the old video? (that would be so easy to find the time-stamp)
Love that Dutch coffee grinder, that was beautiful, too bad about the lid though. Thank you for letting me tag along and you have a great day and safe travels
16:34 I have my mawmaw’s salad bowl. Unfortunately the rest of the set is long gone. She used to make some kind of jello/cool whip salad and put it in that bowl at Easter. We called it pink stuff! 😊 One of the main reasons I watch your channel is for the memories you bring back! You’re a year older than me, so I’m noticing some shared memories!😅❤
Thank you again George. I loved seeing the Lane Dove Tail tables! I had a set of 4, coffee table, square table and 2 step tables in my 1960-70 living room. They were so well made.
I love the butterfly Treasure Craft (I believe?) pieces. I also loved the butterfly item behind the cricket cages. But the Murano & New Zealand pieces were amazing!
Nice explanation about the File Cabinet. Actually, even if they were expensive to produce, once their time was over, the market didn't want them because nobody bought them. But now the prices are very high, everything with small drawers sells very well. And then this one seems to me to be of excellent quality and in perfect condition.
The cute hedgehog family of Mecki was a comic-strip first published in 1949 in a tv and radio guide magazine "Hörzu" in Germany, He quickly became their mascot. I believe Mecki is still living on in the printed tv guide today. He was based on the animation film by the Diehl brothers from the 1920s who took the brothers Grimm fairytale "the hare and the hedgehog" as inspiraton.
05:20 I'm surprised George didn't grab what looked like space needle salt and peppers. Not really, but I bet they'd have sold in Seattle. I was a little too old for Strawberry Shortcake, but I have a roll of the wrapping paper in the trunk of my car, American Greetings labels and all. She came out a bit after Holly Hobbie. I was too old for her too. 27:09 I"ve used that card catalog. My local library didn't get rid of them until about five years ago. The drawers were great, but you'd have to remove the inner hardware to reuse them.
The inner hardware is a problem with those! I was too old for Strawberry Shortcake too, but I have bought and sold her stuff. I didn't like Holly Hobbie as a kid because it was "for girls" lol. You're right about the Space Needle shakers being salable, but I'm a bit of a purist and those were not from the world's fair time so I rejected them.
I had that travel clock as a kid I used to dumpster dive or go out when people throw out stuff or when they moved out I liked rummaging through it finding cool stuff🎉 I thought it was James Bond like😁 mine with gold tones on the metal and like Ivory in the center of the plastic I guess. I thought it was the coolest thing.🎉
I can’t wrap my head around the “removal of all traces of harmful Asbestos” glad someone saved that businesses history. As a child from Manheim Pa, Most of us washed our Daddy’s clothes with Asbestos on them.🤔Perhaps we were a Tough Lot! 😁 Another great show!
I understand! Just a few years before they banned asbestos, our 5th grade science teacher passed a chunk of it around the class for us all to look at up close.
@@TheAntiqueNomad I’m always amazed with the knowledge you retain on so many vintage products! I’ve heard you speak of going along with your Mom to vintage shops, she would be so proud of you!!! ( perhaps items even speak to you from her Love❣️)
Good evening, George. There were some rosaries, by the Bromo-Seltzer item, that caught my eye. I like old rosaries. The taxidermy bobwhites, inside the case, interested me. Those masks, in the military section, really interested me. I'd like to have a wall of those type masks. Loved the Empire secretary desk next to the settee with the travel chest. My parents would have _never_ decorated like that 1970s space was decorated 😂 We had Victorian and furnishings like Duncan Phyfe during the '70s. There was a footed portrait vase where the McCoy gold vase was that I'd likely had to take with me. That Westmoreland berry set looked very close to Northwood's _Chrysanthemum Sprig_ pattern. If you ever come across an old Haller alarm clock, at a good price, I'd definitely be interested in it. There were a lot of items there that caught my eye. Looked like a really fun place to browse and shop. thanks for taking us along!
I really am appreciating rosaries again! I thought the taxidermy was more interesting than usual, and so were the masks, I think a mask wall would be cool. Empire is such a great design class to me, we did not have 1970s furniture at any point either, we were always 20 years or more "behind" and I'm glad for it now. You're right about that set being Westmoreland, a knowledgable viewer stated that it's their Pagoda pattern. I'll keep my eye out for a Haller clock, I see them sometimes!
@@TheAntiqueNomad There are actually a lot of nice old rosaries available, but some of them are starting to really go up in price. I have a couple old ones. One of them is made using the Job's Tears seeds. I like taxidermy, but the ones I prefer are of subjects that would be local to my region. A wall of masks, if they are all kept within the same culture, would be something I would really enjoy. Those all looked to be of the same culture, and that's what made them appeal to me so much. Empire has always been one of my favourite styles. After seeing some of those 1970s styles, I am _so very grateful_ my parents didn't allow that to happen to us 😂 I suppose we would've been "in style", for the time, but...😬🤣 If you come across a nice old Haller alarm clock, let me know. I used to have an old metal one, but it broke the spring and "jumped" about two feet off the table. It destroyed a lot of the works in it when that spring broke, too. It had the double bells on the top of it, and it was a deep burgundy. I've always wanted another one.
My nieces bought me a cute Care Bears t-shirt. I'm 43 now. I feel a little self conscious wearing it (because I'm not a spring chicken), but for the nieces sake I do wear it. 😊
I had a red tricycle like that !!!
Yayy, as always, love when you're in MT.
Me too actually
The blond card catalog brought me straight back to elementary school and the Dewey Decimal System! Thank you for the memory and this video George!❤
Thank you so much for the free education. I love that you share your knowledge. …..respectfully, Wally 14:32
I appreciate that! I like sharing what I know and learning in return
I loved seeing the pic of the card catalog!!
Yes I like those things too
Go Billings!!! Grew up there in the 60's and 70's.

The New Zealand piece is stunning!! 😊
I think so too!
Love the cricket boxes❤ty for the ride along, the library was so cozy, you look rested and happy
The Turquoise Berry set is Northwood and is probably marked on the bottom. The pattern is Pagoda. 1900
Thank you for that! I really wish I knew my EAPG better, I didn't see a mark but then not all (though most) Northwood is marked

Cool! Yes, we've lived through some stuff now.
We had those ottomans at our house. In the basement we had somexthat were pink and black. Great shopping trip ❤
They were so cute!
Great video George! Thanks for sharing!
I would have spent a lot of time looking at the science pieces, for both myself and my marketplace. Great stop!
Really was, I knew you'd like this one!

I swear I saw space needle salt and peppers early in the video. I was surprised you didn’t mention them.
They were, but they weren't from the World's Fair era so I passed them
Sounds pretty cool and interesting! Love reading your descriptions ahead of watching.
Thank you, George for another great video.🙂

I agree, one of Treasure Craft's most successful 1970s lines
I love that there’s a reading section! Thanks George for the education. Love to you and Xeno xx
I love the pastel pottery
What a wonderful store! Thank you for taking us along. Liz
That place had some spectacular items! xx
You can even hang your shoes on a chain, not only things with handles. Simply tie the shoelaces together or have hangerclips for other shoetypes.
Great tip!

I have come to the conclusion after watching about 10 of your videos. You really know your stuff ! ✌️
Oh thank you! I want to share what I know and learn more from all of you

George not to be one of "those people" but I've always known the head vase that you refer to as Lana Turner ... as Betty Grable .
I see the resemblance to both, have heard the Lana Turner reference but they both have the look

That pottery piece in the case is amazing, and I’m not particularly fond of pottery. Do you recall the price?
It wasn't cheap, I think $295?
Such a cool way to set up a store part store part historical walk through! I loved it. Thank you for taking us along!!!
