"The Victorious kids get drunk together all the time, the iCarly kids are so wholesome" - is it weird that most of us had this view of them when we were younger? And to have it confirmed by this creep who WANTS these kids to get drunk and "Be edgy"?
this book really reminds me of the disney movie "rapunzel". the evil mother manipulating and lying to the daughter about knowing best, using her daughter for selfish benifits, keeping her away from society, and when the daughter is finally free she feels guilty about it dispite loving it. i wish i could give jennette a big hug. im so glad she is out of this situation with her mother.
When I told my boyfriend about all of this, he said it reminded him a bit of Gypsy Rose Blanchard, I had us watch the act together. Actually a good comparison.
Textbook narc shit. Mother Gothel was so perfectly written. It’s a fantastical movie, but Mother’s character is spot-on, *very* true-to-life. Read about narcissistic mothers; Mother Gothel follows the playbook to a T, just like Jennette’s mother.
Thank you for the video, this format is great, I don’t like when podcasters don’t put they’re face in the video, I love seeing y’all bc it’s like I’m there with y’all💕💕💕💕, thank you!!!!
I don’t know if I’m remembering this wrong but I think the kiss Janette is described in the book is from Zoey 101 when she was smaller. Which is… messed up
Guys, you should probably put up a warning/disclaimer if you are going to go into details about sexual exploitation or SA. As a victim of SA, it's traumatizing with very close details even when someone gets exploited, like she was at 18 (clearly since he was 32). Just for the sake of other victims. Great episode though!
I've read the book and hearing you talk about it sounds like you just skimmed through it and didn't really read it it was very poignant why they went to church they went to church because they were Mormon the mom got cancer and got scared and ran to her God

Also the fact that the actor that played Beck has stated he doesn't remember his time on Victorious at all because he was drunk all the time.
@@guppy2816 WTF
@@guppy2816 yeah he said he was either drunk or completely hung over

@@celebritymemoirbookclub good review I listens to the audio book and it was heartbreaking she went through what she did
I'd love to hear your thoughts on Conan O’Brien's personal assistant's book "the world’s worst assistant" about her years working for him.
I can't believe I've never heard of this! Could you please tell me the book title? I'd love to read it!

@@Xeroforte whoops my bad! Thanks for telling me, I need to read more carefully 😅
Silly question, probably: is it all bad?
Hard stuff....a wonder that she became a relatively healthy adult. A lot of other people would have fallen into leathal depressions....
This Book is like Mommy Dearest but without the over the top melodrama.
Not me trying to do math and figure out who this 27 year old man could be 🤔
I loved this💕
This was great👍
Omg her mom asking her to sing Wind Beneath My Wings at her funeral is soooo fucked. What a self indulgent request...
Yeah her mother was a total narcissist
This was a great review! I loved Jennette’s book
this was so good girls! I loved this review
I’m so excited for this episode
I’m going to see Jennette on the 16th 🤗
It's NOT always the cheaters who worry about cheating. Sometimes it's the person who's been cheated on alot in the past who worries about it.
I love this podcast
what a rollercoaster! uffff
great review watched in 1 sitting, sucks camera died halfway on such a big video for the channel lmfao
If you read the book they got a lot wrong

You're wrong. She wasn't on that show.
It was ICarly with Freddie.
I thought that Jennette's dad, who actually wasn't her dad, had and worked three jobs, and one of them was Target?
